Announcement Stadium Firmware Beta signup!

Hey all, we are now officially opening up beta signup for Stadium firmware. If you're interested, just head over to https://line6.com/account/betateams/ and create an account, make sure Helix Stadium XL is checked, and make sure your info is current. Things to note:

  • You WILL be signing an NDA and under no circumstances are you allowed to discuss what's in the beta outside of the official beta venues
  • We really REALLY need you to actually engage with the new stuff and give us feedback on it, even if you don't specifically find bugs
  • You will be installing firmware onto your unit that is by definition NOT READY FOR RELEASE. That means there are almost certainly bugs and it might not be stable or reliable. It's probably not a great idea to gig this, so take that into account before signing up. You are able to roll back to release firmware at any time if you need to
  • We hugely appreciate anyone who takes the time to do this because it is an immense help for us, all feedback and reporting that we get from this gets taken very seriously

Tone/Feature Demo Helrig for iPad: Apple approved USB access, beta is running

Post image
8 Upvotes

Quick update for everyone who asked about iPad: Apple has approved USB access for the Helrig iPad app, and it’s now talking to my Helix LT over USB (that’s the pedal and the iPad on the same preset in the picture). The beta is running with a group of testers, and I’m fixing bugs as they come in. No release date yet.

The beta list is full, but I still need testers for two pedals: Helix Rack and HX Effects.

Strictly only:

  • a Helix Rack or HX Effects, and
  • an iPad with an M-chip (M1 or newer)

As a thank you, beta testers get a Helrig Connect license.

If that’s you, send an email to [hello@helrig.com](mailto:hello@helrig.com) or a DM here with:

  • your email address
  • your Apple ID, if it’s a different email
  • your pedal
  • your iPad model

Please don’t post your email or Apple ID in the comments. For all other pedals and iPads the list is closed, sorry!

(Apple only allows USB driver support on M-series iPads, so older iPads won’t work with the app, sadly.)

ℹ️ Helrig is an unofficial, independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Line 6 or Yamaha. Line 6, Helix and HX are trademarks of their respective owners.

General Questions/Discussion Did Line 6 quietly discontinue Helix Native?

Was looking at the web page for OG Native and I noticed this text "New licenses for original Helix Native software are available only for registered owners of Helix and HX hardware products."

According to the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, this change happened somewhere between July 19 and August 5: https://web.archive.org/web/20260805204841/https://line6.com/helix/helixnative.html

They sent a newsletter promoting Stadium Native on 8/4 but didn't mention discontinuing OG Native. It makes sense they want people using Stadium, just thought it was odd nothing was mentioned.

Tech Help Request HX FX Power Supply

I currently have a HX FX and a Nano Cortex. In the future I want to get a Strymon BigSky MX, and a midi foot controller. But I want a single power supply rather than plugging each on in individually. I’ve seen the Canvas Power Supply but I don’t know if that’ll work. Any ideas?

Released 2026-10-20, the release notes didn't say anything more than the 1.4 notes. I assume just a few tweaks? Anyone have any info? Maybe I missed something?

Tech Help Request Line6 Pod go + headrush frfr

Tech Help Request Fbv3 pedal not working for volume control or as a wah pedal when switched on

I recently just purchased the fbv3 pedal for a 2nd time this week after thinking the pedal i just returned was broken or something...but turns out im having the same exact problem with this other pedal I bought.

I cant figure out how to get the pedal to control the volume like the fbv shortboard mkii did by standard as soon as its plugged in.

So when you have the pedal down the volumes all the way up and when you use your heel to move the pedal all the way up so the volume is muted unless you bring the foot pedal down at all.

Also when you click the toe switch on the wah pedal it switches the wah pedal on and the wah pedal light turns on but when you play guitar while moving the pedal nothing happens. It just sounds like the wah pedals on and the pedal is just staying on the floor.

Can someone help me with this ive updated my amp its a line 6 spiderv 240 hc mkii, and I updated the pedal and I literally just returned another fbv3 because of the same problem. This is literally my 2nd fbv3 pedal in a week that I've bought that both have the same problem. I know its not my amp because I plugged my fbv shorthboard mkii into it and the wah pedal on it works fine.

If someone could help me id greatly appreciate it.

General Questions/Discussion Testers for a free unofficial Helix Stadium mobile app for Android and iOS

Hello everyone. Some of you have probably already reached out from the official Line 6 Helix Facebook group, some may not. Or some of you might be familiar with my announcement a few months ago of open source code for a mobile app for the Helix Stadium. A few of you didn't know how to build the app to work on your mobile devices, who will be happy to know that I've decided to release an unofficial Helix Stadium mobile app for Android and iOS devices.

Admittedly, I held off because I thought L6 would have released one by now. And no shade at the L6 team, v1.4 is INCREDIBLE and lots more incredible stuff to come. But I've been using the mobile app for a few months and it's really useful. I've had other people at church and in communities asking for the app too, but without needing to be a dev to build and sideload it.

The app is still going through review for iOS on the Apple app store, Android is a little trickier as I require 12 testers for 2 weeks using it before I can submit for public release. The feedback I've had so far from people using the apps has been INCREDIBLE. I expected lots of bugs and issues, but people seem to be legitimately grateful and happy for a mobile app to edit via the Helix Stadium. It also works via USB-C as well as WiFi, so you can physically connect your Helix to your phone or tablet to edit (which is so good).

If you would like to get access to the mobile apps for Android and iOS now, I can add you to the tester lists and give you access. All I need is your device (some of you are both Android and iOS) and your email to send the invite. Ideally DM it so you're not publicly posting your email.

General Questions/Discussion The SL100 is my favorite Helix amp ever

Just want to give props to the team for this amp, it’s so incredible. I’ve been trying to dial in a particular crunchy/fuzzy sound on my stadium for quite a while using an OCD + plexi but could never quite get it 100% how I wanted. I’ve been using a plexi capture on my quad cortex for months instead. This absolutely blows it away and I haven’t turned my QC on since this model released.

Hot tip: put the new 424 pedal between the amp and the cab with mid gain to give it some extra muscle

Tech Help Request Help picking an FRFR Speaker?

So I'm torm between two cabinets, (other suggestions are welcome) but my main two are the Laney LFR 212 or the Fender FR 212. Just wanted to get any feedback of either of these two, if people have/had them, pros an cons sorts thing.

I'm a bass player who regularly switches between 4 and 5 strings, need something that can handle low notes well I play in C/B in my band. I'll be running a Helix through either of these (obviously seeing as I'm posting in this group)

General Questions/Discussion Helix Combined with (fill in the blank -- pedal/etc.)! Best combo ever!?

So I have been playing with the OG Helix (LT in my case) combined with the Tonex One + recently.

I have long bemoaned the DSP limit in the OG Helix and when I tried the Stadium with agoura amps I ran into the same DSP ceiling.

But now ... I am pretty amazed how well this works! I have the best of both worlds, great effects and High Quality captured amps.

Since I can control it with midi or just run it via FX loop I essentially gained at least an Amps worth of extra DSP to play with.

I have FINALLY been able to build high quality Triple Amp presets that do just about Everything!

So this begs the question, what Helix combos have others tried that were just plain gold!?

General Questions/Discussion Official manual for the amps and effects

I'm remembering POD xt had a great manual explaining every effect and amp, details about how the model is related to the real thing, how POD knobs are related to the real controls, and even details (e.g. year of production) about a specific copy of an amp that Line 6 is bought to model it, etc.

Current manuals for Helix/HX have only a list of models. I've found helixhelp.com site, which helps a lot, but it's unofficial and still missing some valuable information, for most of models the description is just a list of parameters without explanation.

For example, taking Fawn A30. The real thing doesn't have bass, treble, master, and presence controls, but the model has. I read somewhere that master control in the model is artificially inserted into the power amp where it usually sits on amps with master control, and it should be max out to match the real thing. Presence is usually implemented via negative feedback in the power amp, but AC30 doesn't have a negative feedback in the power section, so does this mean I should set presence to 0 to match the real thing? What about bass and treble? Fawn doesn't have the top boost section, but somehow the model have bass and treble controls...

Many effects, especially Line 6 original, also needs a explanation for what the parameters do.

Is the official manual for Helix/HX models even exists?

I made these two boxes to house my Helix Rack & Peavey Classic 50/50 as well as the Control that has a lid for strings and cables and stuff. Very happy with how it turned out and how they match my cabs.

General Questions/Discussion One year later: I love my Helix Floor. Here are my few complaints.

So I swapped out my long-standing pedal board rig for a Line6 Helix Floor just over a year ago. I play in a local band; maybe 65% covers, 35% originals - something like that. We usually play only a couple of times per month. We're decent, but not great by any stretch. We're also all old so it's just for fun.

All in all, I love the thing. It's really opened up a lot of musical avenues for me and is much easier to tote around than the pedal rig. However, there are a handful of software decisions that drive me bananas. So if any engineers from the company are reading this, I'd love you to weigh in.

1: SLOW PRESETS WHEEL: When you turn the knob through the presets, the preset will attempt to load with each click of the wheel. This is absolutely maddening and kind of insane from a software development POV. Why? Because the presets take some nominal amount of time to load. So when you want to use the wheel to get 30 presets down, something that should be almost instant winds up taking a good bit of time. It's extremely frustrating. Try it on your own. Try to go from 1A to 20A and notice how long it takes even though you know exactly what you need to turn to. You'll notice that every time you turn the wheel there is a brief pause as the preset loads itself up. Some models take longer than others for obvious reason. I really wish that it didn't do this. Instead, if the software just waited 0.5 - 1s after you finally stopped turning the wheel and THEN loaded the preset, the scrolling would be instant.

2: GLOBAL VOLUME: since we play a lot of covers, it's reasonable that we might have completely different tones and effects between certain songs. Not to fear, this thing is a beast with that very thing. So I make certain presets for specific songs. The problem is that preset A might be at some volume and preset B might be at some other volume. I do my best to normalize them myself, but it's pretty difficult to do with the visual equalizer. I tend to use an external dB meter to get them as close as I can. So I cannot understand why they wouldn't just introduce a global volume normalization whereby you could then set all presets relative to that normal. In other words, I don't want preset A to be at some volume combination and preset B to be at some other one. I want preset A to be at 100% of my normalized volume and preset B to be at 110% of my normalized volume. Then when I soundcheck, I leave it at 100% and voila, every preset is correct. Yes, there are some global EQ functions, but they will not accomplish this. Seems an easy setting to add IMO.

3: LOOPER: I find it strange that you can only place a looper pedal in each preset. I'm unclear why they didn't (or don't) introduce some kind of global looper so that one could use any number of their presets to build their layered sound. Kind of understanding the limitations on the models, I can't think of anything that would restrict them from making it global - it's basically just recording audio. As it stands, I wind up having to plug an old Line6 looping pedal downwind of my very fancy and very expensive Helix Floor just so that I CAN record using different presets. For the price and complexity of the thing, it seems like I shouldn't have to rely upon additional, outdated equipment.

4: PEDAL: I think I've seen other posts on this, but I do find the pedal kind of weak. It works, though requires maintenance to prevent it from squeaking. This one is pretty low priority to me and is a physical hardware change, but I do wish they'd use a heartier, more robust pedal that doesn't so easily squeak.

That's all I've got!

General Questions/Discussion Visualize as pedalboard

Long time Helix user and I’ve never used a traditional pedal board. Is there a tool or website where I could see what my Helix setup looks like as a normal pedal board? I know I could google and photoshop but I’m curious if it already exists.

General Questions/Discussion HELIX FIRMWARE WISHLIST

Wanted to share my OG Helix firmware wishlist. I’m using an HX Stomp btw…

1. More DSP

Surely with the advancement of AI, Line6 developers can find a way to squeeze out some more efficiency from the existing hardware. A couple situations where I wish I had more juice:

Would love to be able to use 2 Dual can blocks so I can have two amps and two mics on each amp can.

In a different use case, I also want to run 3 IRs: left and right parallel and then another in series for left/right mics and then a room impulse response.

2. Longer IRs

Wish we could load longer IRs. They are currently truncated to less than 50 ms. Would be great to have up to 1 second to use impulse responses of spaces and reverbs.

THAT IS All. I don’t care about NAM, just these 2 simple things and I can ride it out for another decade.

Please and thank you!

General Questions/Discussion Line 6 or Quad Cortex in 2026?

I’m looking to sell my pedalboard for either one of these but i’m not sure which one to get.

I’ve been looking at the line 6 helix floor to be more precise. are they phasing them out for the stadiums?

most of the stuff i play is indie rock/shoegazey stuff and i rlly want to get some nice ambient shimmer reverbs and some synth sounds. i also use fuzz a lot and ive heard not great things about the line 6 when it comes to high gain stuff.

but with the quad cortex i’ve heard that the hardware and software is a bit meh but the videos i’ve watched are 2-3 years ago. any update on recent stuff on the qc?

overall, can someone give me some overall opinions on which ones i should choose?

General Questions/Discussion Good pedal platform amp where drive comes from pedals

I'm on OG Helix LT: tl;dr For a good pedal platform amp, use Fender Twin style or HiWatt amp model?
Right now for "unclean" tones I have a Minotaur, 808 Screamer and Timmy in front of a Soldano crunch ( not all overdrives on at same time). I think I'm sort of aimlessly wandering back and forth between leaning on the overdrives versus leaning on amp drive. I play a strat with the Seymour Duncan Everything Axe pickups ( Jb Junior bridge, duckbucker middle and Lil'59 neck with coil split switch ). Going for modern worship tones in church.

Helrig view of my current preset. Snapshots listed across the top. Currently on the "Drive" snapshot

Tech Help Request Is Helix Stadium full 100V–240V multi-voltage? Can I use 220V on all production batches?

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question regarding the power supply specifications for the Helix Floor unit.

I am planning to use it in a country with a 220V / 60Hz power system (South Korea). I know that Helix units generally feature an internal auto-sensing switching power supply, but I’ve seen some conflicting information online—a few sellers listing their units as "110V only" or mentioning that a step-down transformer is required depending on where/when it was purchased.

  1. Is the Helix Floor truly universal / multi-voltage (100V–240V, 50/60Hz) on every single unit?
  2. Does this apply to all production batches/weeks, including early production runs, or were there any regional/batch-specific 110V-only versions ever made?
  3. Can I safely plug it directly into a 220V wall outlet using a standard IEC power cable without a voltage converter?

I would really appreciate any clarification from the community or Line 6 staff.

Thanks in advance!
