My dad gave me this LP before he died
My father gave me this goldtop Les Paul for Christmas before he died. I already had a Stratocaster but he was always a fan of the Les Paul. I’ve never been as skilled as some most of my family members were with playing guitar but he didn’t care.
This guitar has slowly become my favorite, both for sentimental reasons and because I realized how much better the Les Paul is.
I miss him often but this guitar is my connection to him now

NGD - 2026 Les Paul Standard 60s
Wanted one for as long as I can remember and finally picked one up after saving for a while. Plays and sounds amazing and the honey amber top is incredible.

Picked up this 24' Wine Red Studio (on right) to go with the 09' Worn Cherry (on left). With the finish, it was definitely talking sweet to me and giving me eyes from the rack. Had to bring it home.

NGD Edwards E-LP-CTM
All the LP's I've ever played have felt weird so this was a total gamble. The thing is brand new and I just immediately connected with it - plays awesome. The only thing I'd change is the frets - I'm a jumbo/XJ guy so medium jumbo (or whatever they are) leaves a little bit to be desired.
Took the pickguard off and put speed knobs on.
I have one of the EMG 81/85 "Original Logo" Limited Edition sets on the way as well as some black Gotoh hardware (including their awesome Grover-style locking tuners), but man it's hard not to like gold (although it does age horrendously).

‘05 Epi Special (NGD!)
2005 Les Paul Special II. Body has 2 cracks. Really bad shape overall, but it plays pretty well. Looking for some cheap tuners, the current ones have seen MUCH better days.
also, does anyone know what the gel coat is made out of? i’m guessing it’s not old enough for nitro…

Can anyone confirm whether the control cavity in this 1993 Les Paul is all original?

2009 LP Studio
Think it might be time to get it a sibling, probably another LP Studio. But also eyeing a used red SG.

The Single Cut Gang
The vintage Japanese LP, the heavily modded Jackson, and the aggro modern Solar.
I'll be bringing the LP to my luthier for a complete setup today, so took a quick pic of the gang before her vacation.

What is this marking inside a Les Paul? It’s from a 95 classic premium Plus. It’s on the neck PU cavity. LPPP on the other pocket.

Advice
Looking to get my first Gibson Les Paul and I recently stumbled upon a used 2009 in great condition. *TRIGGER WARNING\* I am a lefty so keep the “that guitar is backwards” comments to a minimum (please) 😂
It appears to be a Traditional based on the truss rod cover. Meaning it should come with the ‘57 classics in it for buckers.
Priced at $1699. Do any of you have experience with this year LP? I know more about modern era but not this era. But I figured with a deal like this it would be silly of me to spend the extra $1300 or so on a new one.

What is the red part on the back of this Gibson potentiometer?
Does anyone know what this red rectangular section at the bottom of the pot is for or what it does?

For those who own more than one Les Paul : how to choose which one to sell?
How to choose which one to sell when it’s time to downsize? Feel? Playability? Price? Rarity? Looks?
I have 2 left handed Les Paul. My first one is a 2017 High Performance, blueberry burst. I replaced the g-force tuners with Grovers. It’s in mint condition with its original aluminum case. Estimated value around 5000$cad
My second Les Paul is a Custom 1974 20th anniversary, cherry sunburst. All original, had a headstock repair. In good condition with some scuffs and dings. With an original 1969 or 1970 Gibson case. Estimated value anywhere between 5000$cad and 10 000$cad
I’m curious to know how people weigh their decision. It’s never easy, and I might end up not selling any, but I’m considering my options. Could use advice, thanks! ✌️

NGD: Warren Haynes Model
I have been wanting a Les Paul Standard for a long time and I love P90 pickups. I’m also a huge Allman Brothers and Gov’t Mule fan so I obviously enjoy Warren Haynes’s guitar work. So this was a natural choice for me when I saw one in mint condition at GC for less than $2000 used.
It plays like butter and looks even better in person. I would have liked some figuring in the maple cap but that wasn’t a deal breaker. The fit and finish are flawless, the fretwork is great, and the neck is nice and chunky. The notes on the neck are all lively and there is no buzzing when playing normally. The frets are polished smooth so bending is easy and quiet. Whoever owned it before me got it set up exactly how I like, so that made it a bit more appealing to me than the new one.
The weak link is the electronics. The noiseless pickups sound ok, but not as good as an actual P90. They are also prone to microphonic feedback at relatively low volumes. The boost switch is not easily accessible for on the fly switching like a pedal is. And it is one setting, so what you get is what you get. And lastly, the pickup selector switch tends to pop back into the center position with the lightest touch. It’s like the shaft is too short and the switch tip hits the round nut.
Also, it is 9.7 lbs so it’s a bit on the heavy side.
Is it a keeper? Yes, definitely. I will be fixing the electronics issues and replacing the pickups with actual P90s. The sound is good, but I just prefer the P90 sound. It plays better than my Les Paul Junior Special or Studio and it is absolutely gorgeous IMHO.
