Hello, I (22F) just moved to leipzig a week or so ago, honestly have no knowledge of the place besides some vague interests in the arts, culture and WGT etc. I'm South African (from both CT and Durban), would be awesome to know if there's any other south Africans in the city, asides from that, how do I go about making friends?

In terms of my German, I'm still learning, however I got by so far. I worked with older people for almost a year in nwr and was okay only speaking German, however obviously my main language is English so I figure that decreases my chances of socialising. What do people do here to socialize and get out ? Especially alternative and art oriented people?

I (26F) moved to Leipzig a year ago. I’m an international student here and have some free time so I wanted to get a part time job to improve my German and social skills here. Been learning German for a year and I can understand well and can participate in basic conversations. Would love some help with leads regarding with part time jobs in the city.

Hallo, ich (M34) suche einen Spielpartner für Badminton, um ein- bis zweimal pro Woche im Matchball Sportcenter (LE West) zu spielen. Mein Niveau ist fortgeschritter Anfäger / fortgeschritten. Ich bin Dozent an der Uni und muss beruflich und auch privat viel Englisch Sprechen, würde mich aber über jemanden freuen, der fließend Deutsch spricht und wir uns während des Spiels und in den kurzen Pausen auf Deutsch unterhalten können. Das Alter spielt keine so große Rolle. Am wichtigsten ist mir, dass du Lust hast, etwas Sport zusammen zu machen, ein bisschen zu quatschen und bereit bist, über deine unmittelbare Kultur und dein Umfeld hinauszublicken, da ich aus Südeuropa komme. 👋
