Looking for one accountability partner (7+ YOE) to learn DSA & System Design together

I want to try an experiment and find one partner to learn DSA and system design together.

The plan:

Solve 3 DSA problems every 2 days, focusing on deep understanding.

Connect every alternate day to teach each other and discuss solutions.

Pick the next set of problems together.

Conduct mock interviews along the way.

I'm specifically looking for just one partner with 7+ years of experience who is willing to be consistent and enjoys learning the why behind the solutipn.

If you're interested, tell me with a little about yourself and what you're preparing for.

Here's a little bit about me: I'm currently working as a tech lead and have solved around 100 problems on leetcode. Most of the times, I can understand what patterns to apply and solve problems on my own but fail to cover all test cases. I'm at a beginner stage myself.

HR made me confused in HLD and LLD

My HR wrote email and said 2nd round will be LLD..and 3 Rd round will be HM.

My interviewer started asking HLD, I told him that as I was told it will be LLD, i practiced that more. So he changed the question to LLD. (Even I show him the email)

Did I do wrong? It might annoy him? It might be reason to rejection right?

He didn't seem to be interested in listening the solution.

How to switch with 3 Months Notice Period

Hi, so for context I have recently joined a Product Based Company and I am planning to switch in a year or so from here. [ For people wondering why am I thinking like this so soon after joining this company, I am just being proactive so that it doesn't sting me later on ]

They have a 3 Months Notice Period and people here seem to be staying for too long, like 5+ Years mostly because they have become comfortable, growth wise this company is not that good which I want in my early stage of career that's why asking for suggestions in this post.

TL;DR: I just joined a slow-growing product company where employees get too comfortable and stay 5+ years. To protect my early-career growth, I am proactively planning to switch in about a year, but need suggestions on how to navigate their 3-month notice period.

How much DSA should I practice even after getting a Job?

I am a 4th year student, recently I got PPO from a company with a good pay. During my 2nd year holidays I did goo amount of DSA and got a internship, then in my 3rd year holidays I did my internship, now I got PPO from the company. But I never practiced DSA after my 2nd year holidays, now I feel if I need to change the company or switch or try to apply to new companies I may nobbe able to crack those interviews. Even if I want to move to good company or get a good pay, I think DSA is needed.

So, people who are in industry I wanna ask how often you guys pratice DSA, and is it good to solve DSA everyday even while working on a company?

Tips needed

General advice: Stop protecting your ego and start being bad at something

I’ve been thinking about how procrastination isn’t always about poor time management. Sometimes, we put things off because we don’t want to deal with the discomfort of trying something difficult, failing, or realizing we’re not as good at it as we thought.
Avoiding the task gives us temporary relief, but we end up making no progress.
Here are a few things that might help:
Make distractions less accessible. Keep your phone in another room or use website blockers so you’re less tempted to avoid the work.
Focus on one major goal at a time instead of trying to improve every area of your life simultaneously. Give it your attention for a set period, like 90 days.
Get comfortable being a beginner. Your first attempts don’t have to be impressive. Focus on getting better rather than worrying about how you look.
Break overwhelming tasks into smaller steps. Sometimes, all you need to do is open the document, write the first sentence, or attempt the first problem.
When you get stuck, look for a solution instead of letting the obstacle stop you. Ask someone for help, look up a tutorial, or use the resources available to you.
Stop waiting until you feel ready. Sometimes, confidence comes from taking action and seeing yourself improve.
Of course, procrastination has different causes, and these approaches won’t work equally well for everyone. But making it easier to start and harder to get distracted seems like a good place to begin.
What’s helped you overcome procrastination the most? Was it changing your environment, focusing on fewer goals, or learning to accept that you won’t be good at something right away?

Do we need to remind ourselves every day what we're working toward?

I've noticed something interesting about motivation. Sometimes, watching a movie, seeing someone achieve something great, or thinking about the life I want to build gives me an intense burst of motivation. Suddenly, my goals feel important, and I'm ready to work toward them.

But that feeling rarely lasts. A few hours or days later, I'm back to my usual routine, distracted by my surroundings and caught up in everyday activities. The goals that felt so important suddenly don't feel as urgent anymore, even though nothing about them has changed.

It makes me wonder whether the real challenge isn't finding motivation, but keeping our goals at the front of our minds when everyday life starts taking over.

I've been thinking about deliberately reminding myself every morning why my goals matter to me, what my life could look like if I achieve them, and what might happen if I keep putting them off. Not just generic motivational quotes, but genuinely personal reasons that mean something to me.

Would regularly revisiting these reasons actually help maintain motivation, or would they eventually become just another routine that I stop paying attention to?

Maybe motivation isn't something we need to maintain constantly, and the real answer is to build habits that carry us through the days when we don't feel motivated.

For those who've managed to stay consistent with long-term goals, what has worked for you? Do you deliberately remind yourself why you're doing something, rely on discipline and routines, or have you found another way to keep your goals from fading into the background?

Need help - DSA, System Design, Interview prep

Hi everyone! I genuinely need advice...

I’ve worked as an SDE 2 for four years in a productbased company, but due to workload, I couldn’t prepare much for interviews and i feel i lost my skills.... now I'm struggling with DSA, System Design, and Core CS concepts, and despite preparing, I keep messing up interviews.

I’ve now left my job but everything still feels overwhelming. I love coding and want to get better, but I’m losing confidence.

How do I improve my problem-solving skills and perform better in interviews?

Unsupported QR for leetcode premium

Hi all,

I am trying to purchase leetcode premium. There is no separate version to subscribe without enabling upto 10yrs AutoPay. I thought of proceeding for now and cancelling the Autopay later but, there is no option to Pay with card. Only UPI is available. And also, that is also giving me Unsupported QR error even after enabling international transactions.

Can anyone pls help me out here?

Is it possible to switch into product based companies without DSA?

Hi everyone,

I’m a frontend developer with 7+ years of experience, currently working in a service-based company. I’ve worked with multiple frameworks including React.js, Next.js, and Vue.js, and have built scalable UI applications over the years.
I’m now aiming to transition into a product-based company, ideally in a frontend-heavy full-stack role. I’m confident I can pick up Node.js and backend concepts as needed.
However, my main concern is DSA — I can solve basic problems, but I’m not at the level of consistently solving LeetCode medium/hard questions.
So I wanted to ask:
Is it realistic to switch to product-based companies at my experience level without going deep into DSA?

Are there companies that focus more on practical/frontend skills, system design, and real-world experience instead of heavy DSA?

If yes, which companies or types of companies should I target?

If not, what would be the most effective strategy for someone in my position?

I’m not aiming for FAANG-level companies — even a solid small/mid-size product company would be great.

Would really appreciate honest advice from people who’ve been in a similar situation.
Thanks!

Aiml

I wanna go for ML and Mlops, currently a freshman in college
I don’t see roles like ml engineer or anything related to aiml for freshers applying off-campus.
Is this so or am I searching incorrectly?

Also what advice would you give me if I say that I’ll be skipping frontend, and focussing on backend and ML (backend as it can be done with python which I’ll be doing for ml anyway).
Would it make any negative impact? Cause ive read that one must Atleast know “full stack” on reddit. What’s your say?

Google onboarding - Hardware selection

Hey everyone! I’m currently in the onboarding stage at Google, and in the hardware selection portal, I can only see a 14-inch Lenovo Chromebook as an option.

Is this normal, or should there be other options available?

For those who joined Google recently, did you have other laptop options to choose from, or was the Chromebook the only one available?

Thanks!

Why does getting back to DSA placement prep become harder the longer I take a break?

I've noticed a pattern in my DSA placement preparation, and I'm curious whether others experience the same thing.

When I'm solving DSA problems, I can sometimes build momentum and get into a flow. I start understanding patterns, connecting concepts, and making progress. But the moment I step away, even for a short break, getting back into it feels surprisingly difficult. And the longer I stay away, the harder it seems to become.

It's almost as if there's a growing resistance to restarting. Watching videos, scrolling through social media, or doing something more immediately enjoyable makes returning to DSA feel even less appealing. After a while, even opening LeetCode and attempting a problem feels like a task in itself.

My understanding is that this might have something to do with contrast and the brain gravitating toward whatever offers the least resistance or the most immediate reward. DSA requires sustained effort, and the reward often comes much later, whereas distractions provide instant gratification.

This makes me wonder: Is the solution to avoid breaking the momentum in the first place? Should I structure my placement prep so that I take breaks without completely disengaging from DSA or switching to highly stimulating activities?

Or is this a sign that I'm not genuinely interested enough in software engineering? If I really wanted the outcome badly enough, would I naturally find it easier to return to studying?

I'm trying to understand whether this is mainly a problem of habits, attention, and momentum, or whether it comes down to motivation and interest.

For those who've gone through DSA and placement preparation, what has actually helped you? How do you take breaks, enjoy your free time, and still consistently return to solving problems without having to fight yourself every time?

Advice Needed!

I started my DSA journey with Striver A2Z Sheet.

I am more of a read and learn person than watch videos and playlists.

I liked Striver's previous style of explanation from Brute Force to Optimized and solutions in his website.

But after the recent update, it's become shit.

The A2Z sheet has become a list of problems with no solutions or locked behind premium.

Are there any other free online resources to learn DSA from scratch which covers common problems across all OAs?

Do you guys recommend to go for videos instead of any blogs or sites?

PS - I use C++ for coding so please suggest accordingly

Any advice and links are appreciated!

Thanks a lot in advance!😊
