ISO Erotic queer lit-fic?

Hi! Looking for erotic lit-fic in the style of Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl , 100 Boyfriends , Mrs. S, etc. Anything that hints at a complicated relationship with the body when having sex is a bonus, especially if it's subtle enough that the protag could be trans but the reader can wonder.

Not looking for commercial "smut"-style writing or genre fic. I want to be wowed by beautiful sentences that I've never read before.

Discussion Crooked Sinners by Callie Hart Bonus Chapter????

Hello girlsss, I seem to remember reading a bonus chapter about Wren and that villainous English professor (first book characters). It was just a glimpse of that night, how they got intimate and then Wren stopped it. But now I can seem to find it anywhere. I explicitly remember it, because I have never read a mm scene and it was my first so yeah. Can you help me find it.

Promo [Urban romantasy] Auspice & Animus - Marcella Caes: Slow-burn MMF/poly, eldritch immortals

Hey everybody! Found this subreddit searching in frustration after getting another 1-star review for having MM elements. So silver linings! 🌈

I'm a new queer author working on a trilogy, Book 1 already out, Book 2 coming out in November.

Two immortal, planet-building eldritch beings are locked in a billion year long will they/won't they as they pretend to be humans until a 35-year-old woman stumbles into the mix. She's essentially the chosen one because she's gone to counselling. It ends with a decently-sized poly constellation, MMMMMF.

Themes: Found family, belonging, immortality. Includes neurodiverse and trans representation.

I got inspired to write by a very frustrating end to an MM series and the valiant efforts of the writers on AO3. 🌈🌟

I just saw the short title rule so reposted to fix my word salad. Sorry mods TwT

ISO Haunted Queers?

I always do a "theme" for Halloween media to consume and this year it's ghosts! I want a ghostly queer book!

I've read The Taking of Jake Livingston and The Haunting of Hill House (Harold, they're Lesbians) but I'm looking for a good, ghostly queer read!

I don't love gorey horror. I'm more into the "what you don't see is what's scary" type of horror. Jake Livingston was alright but kinda more visual than to my taste and The Haunting of Hill House is a favorite of mine specifically cause you don't see the spooks.

But I'm willing to try anything that's highly recommended!

ISO Looking for beta readers for an absurd LGBTQ+ sci-fi comedy

Hey everyone!

I recently finished The Last Top, a short, ridiculous dystopian sci-fi comedy set in the year 2122.

It takes place in a future where almost every gay man is a bottom and actual tops have become an endangered species. Dating apps are in crisis, the government has established a Ministry of Intimacy, and a 20-year-old virgin named Oliver Finch accidentally stumbles into a conspiracy involving a suspicious shortage of tops, a billionaire with questionable intentions, and a facility known as the PleasureDome.

Think retro sci-fi pulp fiction meets gay dating culture, with plenty of absurd humor.

It's not intended to be serious literary fiction. It's deliberately stupid, campy, and over-the-top.

Adult humor and sexual themes throughout.

I'm happy to share more details or a sample with anyone interested. Thanks!

Promo Lqtbq book app

The LGBTQ+ subscription reading app we need, the one we’ve all been dreaming about, is finally coming. Be part of the revolution.

It's a kickstarter that has reached their goal. Check out the items you get if you back the kickstarter. I'm getting two collectors editions of Melissa Tereze books. They have plenty of other items, even a discussion with a famous movie director.

ISO Looking for fantasy with incredible worldbuilding, complex characters, and preferably a slow-burn romance

I’m looking for a fantasy book. I want real fantasy with depth, originality, and a strong foundation, rather than a story that uses magic as a backdrop for romance.

Worldbuilding is probably the most important thing to me. I want a world that feels alive and with its own history, mythology, cultures, politics, religions, magic systems, and unique creatures. I love the idea of a world like Avatar, with fascinating ecosystems, distinctive creatures, and a deep connection between nature and its inhabitants. In terms of books, Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff is another example of the kind of dark, atmospheric, almost mythological fantasy that appeals to me. I want a world that feels thoughtfully constructed, with its own identity and internal logic.

Some other books I enjoy or find appealing in terms of atmosphere and character dynamics are Captive Prince and The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. I’m not looking for an exact copy of either, just something with memorable characters, emotional depth, a distinctive atmosphere, and a compelling story.

The story should be strong enough to stand on its own, even without romance. I want to care about the world and its conflicts just as much as the characters.

As for romance, MM would be my preference, but it’s not a strict requirement. Ideally, I’d love a genuine slow burn that develops naturally through trust, shared experiences, tension, and emotional intimacy. However, I don’t want the entire book to revolve around the characters being gay or something like that. Romance can be an important part of the story, but it shouldn’t overshadow the main plot or the fantasy itself. If a book meets all my other criteria but doesn’t have an MM romance, I’m absolutely open to it!

I’m also not looking for explicit sexual content. I’d much rather have romantic tension, chemistry, emotional intimacy, and a gradual relationship.

Ultimately, I’m open to pretty much anything as long as it meets these criteria. An MM romance would be a bonus, but it’s definitely not a requirement, and I’m not opposed to any particular type of story or pairing. I do tend to prefer male protagonists, though. More than anything, I just want a truly immersive fantasy with incredible worldbuilding, compelling characters, and a story that stays with me long after I’ve finished reading it.

I’d love to hear any recommendations you think might fit. Thank you!!

Promo Edward Schmit on writing a “being out” story

Hi everyone, I’m Patrick, a reader in New York and the host of Shortlist, a new conversation show that starts with a book.

I recently sat down with Edward Schmit, author of The Open Era, a queer tennis romance about a young player competing in his first Grand Slam and falling for his opponent.

One thing I especially wanted to ask Eddie about was his decision to write a “being out” story. His protagonist has already come out and has a supportive family, but suddenly his sexuality becomes a public storyline he doesn’t necessarily want to be defined by.

We also talked about anxiety, learning to be bad at something, leaving Goodreads reviews alone, and our very different Mario Kart strategies.

I’m sharing my own interview here, with that connection made clear. If you’ve read the book or enjoy hearing queer writers talk about their work, I’d love for you to have a listen.

Any recommendations? Ideally not mpreg. Two people meeting/getting to know each other at the end of the world type situation. Kink and sex scene are good, just don’t want it to be 1 chapter of story ND 20 of sex 😂

ISO Poly/throuple/etc. romances with a TON of romantic/sexual tension

❌ The characters get together after minimal tension and conflict and have a happy time

✅✅✅ The characters spend what feels like a thousand years grappling with their feelings towards each other in whatever capacities make sense, the romantic and sexual tension between all or most parties is so thick you could cut it with a knife and you spend most of your time reading feeling honestly kinda stressed out!!

I'm not picky about the exact number of people involved in the relationship, nor the genders involved or specific dynamics. I am just of the opinion that a good poly romance has the romantic tension a monogamous romance has but multiplied by the number of romances involved! It's been quite some time since I looked into poly romances, so maybe this is more common than it used to be?

For an example of a poly ship I liked a lot, Cassandra Clare's The Dark Artifices trilogy has a MMF triad that takes all 3 books to build and the throuple to get together, with PLENTY of plot drama along the way. I spent 97% of my time being like "this love triangle feels like poly BUT WHAT IF THE AUTHOR KILLS ONE OH GOD." The throuple getting together was SO satisfying lol

Anyway: it's fine if part of the eventual poly romance is already established, but ideally they have their own relationship and plot drama to contend with too... Really I just like romantic drama and slow burns LOL

Thanks in advance!

ISO Any fluffy MLM book recs?

Hii, my friend and I are looking for book recommendations of MLM books which are mostly fluff (there can be some angsty or spicy scenes, but that shouldn't be the main focus of the plot). Some books she's read that she really liked and kinda fall into this category are "Boy meets boy", "Con le ali sbagliate" (it's an Italian book, so I put the title in Italian), "Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe" and it's sequel "Aristotle and Dante dive into the waters of the world"

Discussion Dark, upsetting, gross and WELL-WRITTEN trans novels

I want some ugly, filthy, gross, depressing books with trans characters. I just finished Stag Dance by Torrey Peters and loved it, particularly the final story, The Masker. It was so gross and unpleasant and depressing. I want more of that. Forget all that queer joy bullshit. I want gross, doomed, trans hopelessness and suffering. But most of all, I want good writing.

I'd prefer that the trans characters being the focus, but something like City of Night where they're heavily featured is fine, too.

ISO MM romance - Brother's BestFriend

Hi everyone,

I am looking for MM romance recommendations with the brother's best friend trope, but with one important condition. I want the main character and his brother's best friend to have known each other since childhood. They should have grown up around each other, gone to preschool or school together, or simply been a constant part of each other's lives for as long as they can remember.

I am not looking for books where they meet for the first time as teenagers or adults, such as in high school, college, or later in life. I really want that deep, shared childhood history where they have known each other practically forever.

Any subgenre is totally fine. Thank you so much in advance for any suggestions!

ISO Looking for mm romance with mafia x cop trope

So what i want is a mafia/hitman/assassin MC1 and cop/FBI/spy MC2 . BUT I don’t want the book to be cheesy and easygoing like u want both the MCs to actually resist the idea because they are on opposite side of law. I want slow burn and enemies/hate to love. Also it would be better if the book has a good plot other than romance.
Recently i read - Undercover by TA Mckay and loveddd ittt

Also i know i should check out r/MM_romancebooks but i cannot post there because of less karma and the already mentioned books are cheesy or insta love

Promo A little about me as an LGBTQ+ fiction author

Hello everyone!

I'm an independent author writing stories about love, secrets, complicated emotions, and relationships between people.

One of my books is Hidden Shame: What Happened Between Them. It explores the relationship between two young men whose close friendship develops into first love, but whose lives are changed by a secret and an unexpected disappearance.

As a writer, I'm interested in the emotions people sometimes find difficult to express, the things they hide from others, and the ways our past can influence our relationships.

I'm happy to be part of a community where LGBTQ+ books and stories can find their readers. I'd also love to hear from other readers and writers here.

What do you value most in LGBTQ+ fiction — believable characters, emotional depth, romance, or an unexpected plot?

— Jochem Vogel

ISO Looking for polyamorous books where romance is more of a subplot

Hi, as the title says I’m looking for books that feature poly couples but the romance/relationship is more of a subplot. I’m honestly cool with any pairings but I would definitely like some recs that actually feel queer rather than just ones that have more of a harem/reverse harem type of vibe. Asking because I’ve seen plenty of poly romances on kindle but it feels hard to find books with poly couples that have a plot outside of the romance. Just curious to know if anyone here has any books they loved that fits this criteria. Anyway, thanks ahead of time for any help !! :)

ISO Fat Main Character(s)?

Looking for a queer romance of any gender with at least one fat main character and would love for their narrative to not revolve around bodily insecurity.

I'm really looking for a light read where I get to see fat folks fall in love without being constantly reminded of fatphobia, either external to the character or internalized.
