Made another over the mountain and through the woods trip to H-Mart.
Stopped at Hae Song Korean BBQ for lunch.
Got a Galbi/Naengmyeon Combo and Soondubu Jjigae. A little spendy, but pretty good.
The house tea is very close to what I made in our former restaurant - a mix of boricha and oksusu-cha.

i'm traveling in korea, staying for a while and working at my aunt's gukbap place. eating gukbap every break was getting old, so i went looking and found a hansik buffet nearby. these places usually run 8,000 to 10,000 won. the menu changes a little every day, but the signature dish stays the same. the one i go to most has jeyuk bokkeum every single day. it's 9,000 won. i went back for a second plate and nobody said a word. korean food really agrees with me. the first three pics are the buffet, and the rest is other stuff i've been eating.

One of the ultimate rice thieves in Korea:
Thick pork belly stir-fried with deeply fermented aged kimchi in a sweet-and-spicy gochujang sauce on a sizzling cast-iron pan, finished with fresh scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
On the side, a comforting brass pot of budae-style stew packed with sausages and kimchi to cut through the rich meat. Having a bite of the pork wrapped in perilla leaves with a spoonful of rice is pure bli

Hi! I am looking for recommendations for individual soup packets that I can order from Amazon or pick up at Lotte Market near me in the US. I would like to make them in the mornings before I go to work. I don’t eat too much in the mornings since I don’t have a lot of time, but I find that having a warm broth is really helpful to start my day. I love all Korean broths so I am open to any flavor. Thanks for the help 🤍
