I make a post asking what makes a character's design unique and recognizeable (As in, if you make it a silhouette, or change art style, how easy it is for people familiar with the character to know who it is). Mod in question comes in with a very intelligent reply, claiming that people who don't know a character will not recognize. No shit. Then after claiming they know what the point of my post is, I clarify my point again, after which they twist my words and make some random bs up: "Marika from ER is not as recognizeable (=popular in their meaning) as Mickey Mouse."

Then after my next reply they tell me to "tone it down, eh" and they put on the MOD tag, which was not there before.

After I complained in modmail, the mod team had a similar approach of not answering a simple question and misunderstanding me:

I just unsubed (well, a few days ago, but this is a repost) (well, a bit longer than that this is a repost of a repost) from Witchcraft because of their hostility and after some other things happened. They're supposed to be inclusive, but they're outright hostile. They're supposed to be a witchcraft sub, but they're just Wicca. They're even hostile towards their own apparently as I've heard. If you don't follow their rules not the sub's rules, but their rules you get attacked. I was apparently disrespectful and spreading wrong information because I disagreed with what one person said and said how it's in my country? Bullshit. Like they weren't the ones spreading misinformation. The person who was spreading misinformation, they're just enabling it. The funny thing is the person who made the post didn't use belittling words or words that invalidate others and they got the mod warning, but they didn't say any bad words at all. I'm not gonna share that because it's not up to me and it would involve this person who didn't do anything. Either that or they sent it to another mod since it was below the other two comments and it looks like they sent it to the other mod. ''Funny thong about deleting comments, it doesn't really work the way you think it does''. Then how does it work?? If you're not supposed to report rude comments or comments that break the rules then what are you supposed to do?? Just ignore it and hope for the best?? Bullshit. Utter. bullshit. If they're gonna insult them they can at least spell right. Funny thing is something a bit worse happened in that sub once before, but I didn't unsub until just now and I only got muted. It also happened in Spells, but I unsubed there because of reasons. Well, a little bit later, but I still unsubed. It's just full of Wicca. 🙄 It's so full of hostility. Oh btw, it happened in both subs about a year up until now when it happened recently in this sub again. I tried to do something about it with Reddit (even tho I waited a bit to late 😬 as I didn't know that something like that even existed and even they couldn't do a thing about it. 😒) Bullshit. Utter bullshit. Then what are they for if they're so useless?? Anyway, I'm done with my rant. Just wanted to complain about this useless sub and in the end threw the other sub in as well. To bad that I didn't save those screenshots from back then (from the dms) it would've been useful for Reddit mods (I think 😒) had I known that I can do that, but, but I deleted it. But I doubt it. I really wish there was a sub about Paganism and witchcraft that's actually useful.

This is a server for people with mental health conditions. However, given what goes on there, all they’re doing is giving such people a bad reputation. This is down to a few things:
1. Excessive sensitivity regarding Discord’s Terms of Service – quite literally. Even if you mention, for example, that you’ve recently downloaded something illegally, a moderator or administrator will immediately jump in with a warning that you’re breaching Discord’s Terms of Service. They simply behave as if everyone from outside is just waiting to destroy this server.
2. Toxic moderators and administrators – don’t be fooled, they’re only pretending to be nice. If, for example, you’re having a mental breakdown or disagree with them on a matter such as fashion, they’ll slap you in the face with a mute and a telling-off.
3. Accepting people who’ve done nothing but self-diagnose – yes, even those who have no plans to see a specialist and get it verified. And, as we know, self-diagnosis can often be wrong, and plenty of attention-seekers do it for obvious reasons.
4. Hivemind – practically all members behave like the most stereotypical and, on top of that, cringe teenagers you can imagine. Literally very few people stand out against this backdrop, which only serves to embarrass them and, in my opinion, also contributes to the negative perception of people with mental health conditions.
5. Toxic kindness – this server also has channels dedicated to things like drawing. As you can probably guess, you can’t criticize anyone’s work, even if it looks like it was drawn by a two-year-old, because someone will immediately jump in with a sour face. Besides, if you spend a bit more time on this server, you’ll notice that everyone is excessively nice and they’re so sweet to everyone that it’s enough to make you want to throw up rainbows.
6. An excessive approach to word censorship – do we really need to censor words such as the simple word ‘hospital’? I thought word censorship was only for the really strong ones.
7. If you don’t share the standard interests of the most stereotypical teenagers, you’ll be ignored – I’ve experienced this firsthand. When I posted my drawings or wrote something about Minecraft, at least half a person showed some interest. When, on the other hand, I posted some more in-depth facts about Minecraft or wrote about something else (for example, the interesting fact that a cat can have a blood transfusion from a dog once in its lifetime), it was completely ignored. So in that respect, too, the server is only inclusive if you’re the most stereotypical teenager you can possibly imagine.
8. Caps Lock disabled – this doesn’t really bother me much, but it does highlight just how oversensitive the moderators and administrators are. Caps Lock is often used to emphasize excitement, yet according to the moderators and administrators, it’s merely a way of shouting at someone. The fact that it’s easy to tell the difference probably never crossed their oversensitive minds.

To those who don’t know, the og image (although nobody uses ”original” as an unspoken sub rule, just a word that starts with o) is expected to be shown in the comments of every post. I hate seeing shit like this whether or not the context is genuine.

I have been in it for a few months. Was there for purely creative SFW stuff that was popular at that time. Of late sexually suggestive stuff of minor AI pics started appearing. The popular post at the time of unsubbing was the last straw. I can't stand sexualisation of minors.

The subreddit is not even interesting anymore, it's just Itachi vs. Minato posts 24/7. It's getting beyond old. I'm muting this damn subreddit. Why are people so obsessed with Itachi vs. Minato anyways??? 2 characters that never even met btw.

A user was banned on Discord because a mod claimed Atatürk personally committed the 1915 events. I made a post on Reddit to correct this basic timeline error, proving Atatürk was actually just a frontline soldier at Gallipoli in 1915 with zero political power. I backed this up using objective Western biographies and primary Armenian sources. Instead of discussing the facts, the community completely lost their minds, dogpiled on me, threw insults, and told me to shut up because no one cared (as seen in the screenshots). It is pathetic that a history game community responds to basic historical facts with pure rage.

ve posted on that subreddit maybe 3 or 4 times in my entire tenure as a redditor, and I recently posted a casual thought that read "The skin of lime isn't really lime green, and that kinda trips me out lol." There was some dialogue with commenters, but all were civil and chill, then the post gets removed because apparently it violated their rules, but from what I read, since it was a casual thought, I didn't think it was a problem. Shortly after the post was removed I got a message that I was banned from posting to the sub for 90 days, and so I asked the mod why I was banned considering I didn't post anything harmful or explicit. The mod got all power hungry and was like "you broke almost all of our rules, do you see any other posts that say "lol"" (which yes, I in fact have in the past). I'm surprised you even asked, which was then followed up with being permanently muted, then today I got permanently banned lmfao...for posting about an observation regarding limes...I'm pretty dumbfounded honestly, but such is the way of the internet I suppose

I love Gears of War, it’s one of my favorite video game series. And with the new release I was looking forward to discussing the story and gameplay with everyone. But it seems everyday there are posts complaining about people on social media complaining about the facts that 1) there is a main character that is a lesbian person of color and 2) the inclusion of pride flags in multiplayer. I really do not understand why people let the views of others affect them so much. Unfortunately I feel that many people now use those posts as engagement bait or karma farming.

Homeschooling Your Kids is Child Abuse

I'm not talking about the "my child was being bullied and we literally had no other option" crowd.

I'm talking about the people who stake their entire personality around homeschooling their children, and do it for (usually) religious reasons.

It opens up WAY more opportunities for child abuse.

It wears the parents down because they never get a break from their kids.

It leads to kids that have stunted socialization skills, and little to no experience with boundaries.

I'm saying this as someone who was homeschooled for their entire school "career". It honestly sucked, and if you're thinking about doing it for your children, I would highly encourage you to think twice.

It had gotten almost 2k views and tons of comments when they removed me. Apparently views "about parenting" are not allowed on that subreddit, which is WILD to me.

Either way, don't homeschool your kids, folks. They won't talk to you when they're adults.

Mind you, these are just recent examples. These posts have been going on for months.

A mod named Lucy intentionally posts inflamatory and misandristic posts up, and then uses her Mod power to gaslight users as she manipulates the comments and users' flairs to make those bringing counter-comments into the comment threads.

I'd recommend all users actively avoiding this sub. Nowhere near the time or effort. Even if one tries to be egalitarian in their approach. It's not enough for the self-proclaimed (Australian in one mod's case) extremists.

A week ago I got shadowbanned for the first time ever. I appealed once and shadowban got lifted in 10 hours, while many redditors wait months and appeal hundreds of times. Great, back to using Reddit for 1031 day streak.. well, no. Shadowban killed my 5yo account and ability or desire to use the site, for 2 reasons.

Turns out if your account is tagged NSFW, even if you almost exclusively post SFW, all your content doesn't get automatically mass reinstated, and now it's impossible to get help from admins for this. 2.6k contributions gone. It's not about how exceptionally valuable all my history was, but it was my presence and effort in the communities and it did bring me joy. I can manually message each subreddits' mods to reinstate removed content, and I did once, but it's impossible work to do manually for 2.3k comments, and I'd need to bombard my main subreddits with dozens links even if I'm being very selective. There's no guarantee mods will approve any and not just ban me for bothering them.

CQS score ('automod reputation'). Shadowban subreddit recommends using Reddit consistently but gradually and slowly gaining the score back so you don't get banned again. I thought this wasn't an issue for me, as just a few hours after shadowban ended Lowest score turned into High. Great, I can normally use Reddit, upvote posts and comment.. well, no. After barely any interactions, CQS dropped to Low, meaning now Reddit is like a minefield, any upvote or comment can shadowban account again, and most subreddits prevent me from posting at all. So even if I was willing to revive the account, it'd take months before I can use the site as a normal user again.

Site experience and perception forever changed. It's not fun at all to get a heart attack expecting another shadowban upon just opening the app while not even being able to actually use it. I don't want Reddit as a job with a quota and a limit and monitoring my 'not a bot' score.

Everybody inside this sub is a massive bigot, and whenever you notify them of their bigotry they pull any strawman for upvotes. All political things on this sub are either anti-POC, transphobic, or downright racist and the mods never do shit. And I can't even get on about how half the people there proship and are terminally online and smell like horse shit. There is nothing good about this subreddit.

Hitman is a game about being a hitman, for context. The users on that subreddit bully anyone who asks for help or tips with the game. I’m not joking, I’ve seen people tell users seeking help they have ‘no hope left in life’ and ‘don’t deserve the right to play games’. Hitman isn’t known for being a particularly easy or difficult game, and users on that subreddit seem unable to comprehend the fact many players may be coming from games that aren’t similar, or maybe just play games casually and wanted some assistance.

My heart sank when I saw the photo, and I had to re-read the caption several times to first understand the joke and then stop myself from getting deeply depressed.
