I am on cloud nine! The proposal took place in our home, our first home together. He sent me out of the house to get dinner so he could prepare the home by ‘setting the mood,’ he had candles lit, flowers, low lighting, wine, etc. it was perfect and exactly how I wanted it. His little proposal speech was the sweetest and he was teary 🥹 I am so in love with this man. Next month will be 8 years together 🤎 I couldn’t imagine a better proposal.

The ring is a dream. The proposal was exceptional. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful FIANCÉ!

First, I (38f) was not actively snooping 🙃 - my bf (44m) keeps his closet door open and I spotted a small package still in its shipping packaging (seals broken) sitting right in front on the shelf. I peeked at the label and immediately put it back when I saw the company logo.

We have a shared wedding inspo board on Pinterest, and when I finally settled on the ring I wanted, I sent him the link and explained the features I loved about it, and he followed up several times to confirm my ring choice, so I already know exactly what it looks like. The ring itself will not be a surprise - his plans for popping the question will be.

It's been about a week, and I'm just having a really hard time not opening the box and trying the ring on when he's not home! It's so hard - and would it be awful of me if I did?

I greatly appreciate all the input. Ultimately, I needed someone to browbeat me into submission with what i already knew, and I couldn't go to anyone in my life without ruining my eventual announcement. Mission accomplished, thank you all! I now have the strength to leave it alone and let his proposal be the first time I lay eyes on the ring in person.

~Extra Info~ just for fun, before this post gets so many views that I freak out and delete it:

• I told my bf I wanted to be married before I'm 40 (arbitrary, but I'm clearly not 20 anymore and I don't want to look 40 in my wedding photos), and he's promised to make that happen. I turn 39 next summer, and he knows how long it takes to plan a wedding, so I'm expecting him to propose within the next 6 months.

• My bf is my best friend. We're very similar in our communication styles, so we feel naturally compelled to talk about everything with each other, and we do. We talk about our wedding and our plans for the future allll the time. Last month he started dropping hints to tease me, saying things like "there's no turning back now" while grinning mischievously, so NO, I don't feel bad about snooping for a label and confirming what he'd been not-telling me for weeks, and i don't even think he'd be upset if he knew that I did what he was basically daring me to do lol.

1.5 diamond with 14k gold band. Exactly what I’ve had on my Pinterest board and what I told him like. Why does it feel SO surreal? I feel like I’m playing dress up or something. Pinch me???

My fiancé planned the most beautiful fall proposal in our favorite place that we go to every year (multiple times a year). The foliage was beautiful and it was right around sunset. It’s only been 2 days and my hand feels weird without my ring already. I am so excited to marry my best friend!

Long story short, the garnet ring was the one my lovely fiance proposed with. We picked out the diamond ring together, and I'm very lucky I get to keep both. I love him so much and can't wait to be his wife ♥️

ring is emerald cut blue topaz with two round blue topaz, set in white gold. we want to upgrade when money is better.

it’s been a week and it’s kind of hitting me now. i don’t know.

excuse the weird hand angle. i wanted to have my nails done, i do press ons myself, but amazon sent me the wrong glue tabs and by the time i realised it was too late! so my nails are natural and believe me they are not cute.

anyway. on the day itself we set out in the sun but in true north west UK fashion, by the time we got off the bus it was cloudy. started our walk and my ankle started playing up so we couldn’t access the place my partner wanted to go to and on the way we’d attempted to go there was a wasp nest! so we went back to the gardens, and it started raining sideways. so i was like fine! fuck it! let’s just go back to the hotel and order dinner!

it happened anyway, in the five minutes where the rain stopped, and it was lovely but i have massive regrets about popping the bubble.

my friends reactions were lukewarm, nobody wanted to know how it happened or even where. his parents are evangelical, i am not, he left the church during our relationship and they didn’t care for it at all. despite it being them who said directly to him they’d prefer we get married but apparently that doesn’t hold up in practise.

as for my family…. well, put it this way. if they didn’t care for my cousin getting engaged while she was pregnant they are not going to care for this so i just haven’t told them. because RSD is funny like that.

i know it’s not all about me and other people have stuff going on in their lives and this basically doesn’t matter to anyone but me, but i’m honestly really sad i haven’t had a single particularly excited reaction or even any questions about it considering what it took for us to get here with financial issues, various changes at his work, deaths in his family etc.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 10 years. We're at a reckoning point in our relationship. He's finishing up his master's and I'm about to take the bar, and I foresee a proposal coming soon.

We're in an LDR right now, and he's been mentioning engagements a lot when we call, and he told me the type of metal he wants to use (he's a metallurgist) and the types of gems that would be good and even asked me what type of design I wanted for the ring.

And I thought this was supposed to be a surprise. I'm incredibly conflicted to have this so out in the open when I was imagining my own engagement to be a surprise.

Finally a fiancé!! I was so excited to finally see this beauty in person.... it's a custom ring with pink diamond side stones. we opted for the one sided bridge so when the wedding band comes into the picture it wouldn't bump against any diamonds ❤️

it's a 4 ct marquise center stone and my ring size is 6.5

My wonderful partner took me on a fairy garden adventure with my proposal through a little fairy door. My dad was my person and we just went through his five year passing anniversary and my now fiancé hiked with his ashes to make sure my dad was with us for this special moment. Stones are pink sapphire with little diamond accents in yellow gold.
