N547JX Is Being Moved Out To The Runway As We Speak - Oct 24, 2027
It's a Saturday. If someone in the area doesn't have plans, I think a relaxing Saturday sitting outside of Marina airport taking photos and videos with a high powered telephoto seems like the perfect weekend day.
What Makes Joby Different - Joby's Blade at Formula 1
Everywhere you look around F1 you see companies spending huge sums advertising.
Joby is one of the few making money at F1 instead of spending money!
Joby's Blade is bringing in the cash with their air taxi service to and from F1.
Once again Joby stands alone.

Joby Making History
At Largo, what could be a new, modern ATC system incorporating ASI’s SMART and FDMS platforms. With another historic flight in U.S. aviation history potentially on the horizon, SunTrax isn’t far away either. Not to mention, Orlando International Airport and also Florida Department of Transportation are striving and making efforts towards AAM.
What’s more, it’s not just about expanding flights and infrastructure across the U.S. Joby has also been on the front lines of bringing jobs and opportunities to America for American workers. And let’s not forget Dayton, Ohio, the birthplace of aviation!
We're two-months away from the year-end and I feel there is more to come!
Is the next stop, Florida? I guess we will have to keep our eyes on the skies!

Joby flying Tampa Bay 10/30
Joby sent out an invite to come to an event at Albert Whitted beginning at 9 AM on Friday 10/30/26. BETA will be there too. They intend to replicate the first ever scheduled commercial flight from St. Pete to Tampa International Airport.
I’m so excited to get this invitation. Replicating this specific flight is a dream come true and something I could have only hoped to have recognition for in my wildest dreams. Any other Tampa Bay folks going to be there?

🛫 Joby Live Flight Tracker · Oct 24, 2026
Automated ADS-B flight log for the Joby eVTOL test fleet (times Pacific). Each tail that powers on or flies gets one comment below, updated through the day with its flights and totals. Public ADS-B data, posted by a bot.
Distances run low: they are straight lines between fixes a couple of minutes apart. Location (hangar / apron) comes from ADS-B positions and can lag. Before a tail's first flight it also shows a "historical chance" of flying later that day, based on how often it did in similar situations. It is not a forecast.
Timeline Tool
Hey guys, kind of a random request.
I'm putting together a generalized timeline tool for publicly listed companies, and was hoping to get some feedback on it.
Can you help me out by giving some feedback?
- Is it intuitive at first glance?
- Are there any obvious milestones that are missing?
Looks like pretty much everything that I can think of is there, but I imagine there's still some fine tuning to do.
Note that this is supposed to be generalized (you can also search Archer or even Nvidia, etc). So it can't be tuned perfectly for Joby.
I think the ideal use case is for a first-pass glance at a new company that you're trying to research - so this sub isn't necessarily the target audience since we follow Joby super closely. With that in mind, there's going to be some obvious limitations, but I think it can be a useful tool...
It's also a little bit cleaner on desktop (a little more scrunched on mobile).
Anyways, let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance!

Glide speed testing?
N162SA the X2 autonomous Cessna 208B Grand Caravan had an interesting flight yesterday with two dips during flight. One at 75ft close to stall speed at 69 knots, the other as low as 61 knots dipping to 100 ft. I was thinking glide speed testing. Any other thoughts?

Joby Fleet Tracker: This Week's Flights + Running Totals for Every Tail (updated weekly)
Introducing a new weekly post. This is the first edition of a sticky I'll update each week.
This post tracks Joby's test fleet using public ADS-B flight data and FAA registry records, plus Joby's own statements and press reports for the aircraft the feeds can't see. Part 1 covers the past seven days. Part 2 is every tail's running totals, including the hybrid, hydrogen and autonomy aircraft.
This is a community resource, so corrections are welcome. If a role, note or number looks wrong, or you know what one of these tails is up to, say so in the comments and I'll fold it into the next update.
How it's counted: numbers come from full ADS-B traces rebuilt after the fact, so distances and peaks are more accurate than the daily live-tracker thread's. A flight is any continuous airborne run above 20 ft.

Non-eVTOL: SuperPilot autonomy (ex-Xwing)
| Tail | Role | Last flew | Flights | Hours | Miles | Peak ft / kt |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| N101XW | Cessna 208B Caravan | Oct 2 | 61 | 58.5 | 9,096 | 12,625 / 185 |
| N162SA | Cessna 208B Caravan | Oct 23 | 3 | 1.5 | 191 | 4,000 / 157 |
- N101XW: Cessna Caravan kept from Joby's 2024 purchase of Xwing's autonomy division (the XW suffix is Xwing's); registered to Joby since July 15, 2024. Based at Concord (KCCR). Sept 7 to Oct 2, 2026 it flew a cross-country loop: Phoenix, Fort Worth Alliance (on the ground alongside N545JX Sept 8-11), the Outer Banks including Kitty Hawk's First Flight Airport, Raleigh, Louisville, Wichita, Jackson Hole, Salt Lake City and Portland. Totals here only go back to late Aug 2026.
- N162SA: Second Joby Cessna Caravan, registered to Joby on Aug 4, 2025 and based at Concord (KCCR) like N101XW. Its role isn't public. Totals here only go back to late Aug 2026.
Non-eVTOL: Hydrogen
| Tail | Role | Last flew | Flights | Hours | Miles | Peak ft / kt |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| N542BJ | Hydrogen demonstrator (JAS4-2) | Not on ADS-B | – | – | – | – |
| N602HY | JAI40 uncrewed aircraft | Oct 20 | 1 | 1.1 | 55 | 4,550 / 59 |
| N30FR | JAI30 uncrewed aircraft | Apr 30 | 4 | 1.1 | 54 | 5,375 / 59 |
- N542BJ: Hydrogen-electric demonstrator: the battery-electric airframe fitted with a liquid hydrogen tank and fuel cell. Joby reported several 500+ mile flights in Q2 2024, including one of 561 miles, with water as the only by-product.
- N602HY: First recorded flight Oct 20, 2026. Joby model JAI40, a newer uncrewed model (no seats, two electric engines per the FAA) that Joby hasn't announced. Calling it hydrogen is an inference from the JAI30, not confirmed. Its registration (Sept 18, 2026) has no owner name filled in yet. Seen on ADS-B on Oct 20, 2026, circling for about an hour at up to 4,550 ft over the Castle Dome UAS site at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ, where the JAI30 has also flown. Joby reserved N601HY through N650HY in September, so more HY tails may follow.
- N30FR: First reported flight Jun 30, 2025. Joby's JAI30, an uncrewed hydrogen-electric fixed-wing that Joby hasn't publicly acknowledged. AIN, Hunterbrook and Aerospace Global News reported it flew for about 9 hours (9 h 8 min per AIN) at the Pendleton UAS Range in Oregon on June 30, 2025 (Hunterbrook also spotted an Xwing ground control station beside it); that track was later pulled from public view. My feeds also caught it on Jan 24 and Mar 2, 2026 at Pendleton and Apr 30, 2026 at the Castle Dome UAS site at Yuma Proving Ground: slow (under 60 kt) loiters of under half an hour, up to 5,375 ft.
"Not on ADS-B" tails never show up on the community feeds, so their notes come from Joby's own public statements.
Times are Pacific. Totals start at each tail's first recorded flight in my data (2023 onward). Early history came from a different mix of ADS-B feeds than recent weeks, and some days have coverage gaps, so older numbers are the least precise. Not an official record.

Head to Head Milestone 2026 poll
Alright sorry I need to see who wins this match heads up.
And it would be a GOOD demo flight. like 15 mins minimum. Picture the full video unedited from boarding to taking off and landing and getting out, with a picture of the battery % at the end of it.
If you could see one of these happen by Dec 31st, which is it?

N547JX FLYING!!!
It did it guys!! N547JX flew it's first expanded envelope outside of the runway! Almost 50 knots. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a6f2cb
Note: I got a little too excited and thought it transitioned but I'm not 100% since the speed maxed out around 50 kts
Joby TIA Flight Testing With FAA Pilots in 2026 Just Got a Lot More Likely
If you’re not already following the new automated eVTOL tracker posts that Happyrobot put together for us, check them out. Today his app caught N547JX on an expanded envelope flight in a large loop well off the runway, with a top speed of 49 knots. Huge milestone!
Look at the progression. This aircraft came off the line about a year ago. It hovered in March, began runway hovers up to 30 knots in September, and now it’s flying loops off the runway at up to 49 knots. Forward props are likely tilting forward at this point, and my guess is full transition would come somewhere in the 60-85 knot range.
What’s next? Nobody knows but Joby and the FAA, and this is only my guess, but the likelihood of FAA pilots flying N547JX and the start of TIA flight testing in 2026 just jumped. If the runway hovers had just continued, I’d have said TIA flights in 2026 were looking less likely. This kind of progress makes it more likely.
Why does that matter? As far as my research has uncovered, it’s exceedingly rare for an aircraft that gets to FAA piloted TIA flight testing not to eventually earn Type Certification. And if TIA flights begin in 2026, Type Certification in 2027 becomes possible. Only possible does not mean for sure, but that’s a lot more likely than it looked a few months ago.
Anyway, very excited! What does everyone think? Does the pace of expansion flights change your timeline? Does this make anyone want to jump in on $JOBY at a low price thinking the majority of the public has no clue what a big deal this is?

🛫 Joby Aviation eVTOL Live Flight Tracker & Daily Log · Oct 22, 2026
Automated ADS-B flight log for the tracked Joby eVTOL test fleet (times Pacific). Each tail that powers on or flies gets one comment below, edited as the day goes on, with its flights and totals. Public ADS-B data only; posted by a bot.
Note: distances here are generally under-reported, because they are measured in straight lines between position fixes a couple of minutes apart, which cuts corners on turns and patterns. The weekly report has more accurate distances.
Location (hangar or apron) comes from ADS-B positions and can lag or be wrong; a tail that is not transmitting shows as hangar / not transmitting. Location and "historical chance" are shown only until a tail has flown for the day. "Historical chance" is how often that tail flew later the same day in similar situations (past data plus the bot's own record). It is not a forecast.

Forward motion for N547JX as first non-hover flights spotted at Marina
Poor Weather Forecast In Marina Today
I’d expect no Joby flights planned for today, because the weather forecast for Marina, CA is poor.
Could be why they pushed so many flights so early in the day yesterday.
Better conditions forecast for tomorrow, so hopefully a few more flights before the weekend.
Blade Record!
From Blade on X:
"Proud to report BLADE’s biggest September in its 12-year history.
Over 11,000 passengers flown, up 10% over last September.
Largest vertical-lift passenger network in the world. Not slowing down."

Why didn't Joby get the "Market Survey" certificate?
With the news today that BETA got an FAA "Market Survey" certificate for its A250 eVTOL—especially with a few headlines cutting out the "with Prospective Customers" part—I've seen people asking if BETA just passed Joby, or why Joby doesn't have this yet.
Honestly, I don't think this says anything about who is ahead. A Market Survey certificate is a sideways move within the Experimental category, not a jump ahead on the Type Certification ladder.
This is great news for BETA, and we don't always have to look at one company's win and ask what it implies for the other eVTOL players. BETA and Joby just have different business models right now:
- What BETA actually got: Every eVTOL company (Joby, BETA, Archer, Wisk) already flies under Experimental R&D certificates. BETA’s new certificate is still Experimental—they can't run commercial flights with it. It just lets them bring non-employees onboard for sales demos and customer pilot training.
- Why BETA needs it: BETA sells planes directly to outside fleets (UPS, Bristow, United Therapeutics) that use their own pilots. Since BETA is certifying their fixed-wing plane first, full eVTOL certification is further out—so they need customer pilots test-flying their dual-control cockpit now to lock in orders. (They also used the 250,000+ miles flown on their fixed-wing plane, which shares ~80% of the same parts, to prove safety to the FAA).
- Why Joby doesn't: Joby’s main model is running its own air taxi network, not doing "try-before-you-buy" demo flights for outside fleets—plus the S4 only has a single pilot seat. More importantly, Joby is in Stage 5 (the final phase) of actual Type Certification, flying conforming planes like N547JX for official FAA credit (TIA). Those planes have to stay locked in strict FAA test configurations; pulling them off the line for sales demos would only slow down final certification.
TL;DR: Great milestone for BETA, and we don't need to treat every piece of news like it means something for the other eVTOL companies. This is a sideways branch for B2B sales demos, not a jump ahead in certification. BETA needs outside pilots test-flying their dual-control plane while full certification is still a ways out, while Joby is keeping its planes locked in on Stage 5 FAA credit testing to finish Type Certification first.
Note: This post isn't about saying Joby is better or downplaying Beta (I'm also a big holder). I just wanted to clear up some confusion and note that asking why Joby didn't get this is not really the right question to be asking
Edit: Joby actually has the "market survey" cert for the Xwing autonomous aircraft (N101XW) because for that one they do plan on selling the technology to customers and not "operating" it.
Positive N547JX Activity Today
globe.adsbexchange.comN547JX has done 4 runs down the runway today. This was similar to runs at the end of Sept. The Sept runs max'd at 35knots. Today's runs passed 40 knots at steady 250ft.
Seems like progression continues. I think N547JX is getting close to transition speed. I think the props start pointing forward around 45 knots, so it looks like they are just hitting up against that wall at this point.
If anyone knows the min transition speed of the S4, let us know. We could be close.
