Where are we going?
This is a photo of my Jindo from a few years ago, when both the kids and the dog were still so little. I found it while going through old photos.

I'm looking to adopt a dog/puppy from Korea (located in TX, USA, but willing to travel to nearby states if needed). I've been scouring the web trying to gather a master list of reputable Korean dog shelters that work internationally. Has anyone here adopted a Korean Dog while in TX so far?
Feel free to share where you adopted your dog, share your good/bad experiences with these rescues, and help me modify/expand this list. Also, if any Canadian Korean Dog rescues also can transport them to the US, I'm happy to add them to the list.
So far I have these websites:

This is just out of pure curiosity! I know a DNA test is the most accurate way to find out exact breed but I’m not able to spend the extra money just yet. Till then, I’m curious as to what the thread thinks my dog is! I adopted her just yesterday from the shelter, they labeled her as a Jindo but I saw that people are saying more than likely she’s a Korean village dog. Her name is Jubi! (After Jujube lol) & she’s 11 months old!
I recently adopted a Jindo mix in Newfoundland who is apparently 8 years old and it got me curious how long people have been rescuing them bringing them to Canada?
We ended up adopting 2 dogs who were a bonded pair, both 8, who were apparently strays in Toronto and were picked up and adopted to someone who then moved to NL with them and they bounced back and forth to a local SPCA a couple times before we got them.
Our Jindo Mix is extremely skittish and will run away from even small noises or quick movements (ex: dropped a fork one day and she took off). Vet thinks she has PTSD but wondering if this is just part of their demeanor? Extremely low energy as well and gets scared if she is left in a room alone. Been with us now 4 months. Also refuses to get on couch/bed despite lots of treats and positive reinforcement when it does happen.

My 8 year old baby was diagnosed last week and we started her meds right away, i’m wondering if any of you have experienced this? What were your dogs symptoms? How old? How long until the medication started working? 🥰
Surprised how well she tolerated this! Do your Jindos have any Halloween costumes?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently living in the Cairns area and looking to adopt or buy a Jindo (Korean Jindo Dog).
Does anyone know of any reputable Jindo breeders around Far North Queensland or QLD in general? Also, if there are any Jindo owners in Cairns, I’d love to hear about your experience!
Thanks in advance for any information or recommendations!

Sometimes, I think she is the smartest dog in the world. Other times, I wonder if she has even an oz of gray matter.

My high energy boy runs on full throttle all day long. That’s why I love seeing him let his guard down and look this peaceful at night.

Im looking for ways to make walking our jindo more enjoyable for her and me, especially when dealing with other dogs outside.
My husband and I adopted her about 2 years ago (she's 4 now) and most of the time I have no complaints. She is, overall, a good girl-- great with the cats, was already house trained when she came home, not a barker, etc. She can be reactive to other dogs on walks, usually to larger dogs that are posturing or reacting to her already, or smaller dogs yapping at her or worse, running at her uncontrolled. She will go to the end of her leash and keep tension (she doesnt pull me, Im not sure why), throw hackles, grumble, hard stare, and sometimes bounce in place and bark. She has snapped on a couple of occasions with exceptionally nosey dogs. I can always physically control her but we cant move quickly.
The main problem Im having on walks is that my husband will go on and on about how good she is, how she doesnt do any of that on walks with HIM, that he can give her a tug on the lead and she keeps going, or he can have her sit and wait it out. She simply wont with me. Yes, we can keep walking and she keeps pace, but I cant get her attention back to me, let alone put her in sit. Little dogs off leash like to run up to her and I dont want her to snap at them and get labeled aggressive (5 instances just this year. Im beyond annoyed). When we walk I have a hard time getting her to focus on me. I want her to feel safe enough to listen to me when things happen, or have some kind of game or distraction high value enough to snap her out of it without activating another dog (she's not very food motivated anyway). What can I do? Why wont she listen to me on walks the same way? She treats us the same at home or known environments.

Hi, in the beginning of the year I had to put down my first jindo. I had her for 10 years and she was the best thing ever. My golden retriever is now the only one and we are looking to buy another dog after our second child is born in march 2027. I wanted to know if there were any breeders here and get some general info! Thank you. Also I’m located in Tennessee.

Hello all,
I live in Korea. I scooped up this fine fella from one of the local markets, and am wondering if anyone can say for sure this is a Jindo, or not?
The lady whom I got him from said he would be about 24-28 inches long based off his parents.
He seems to look a bit different than jindo puppies I’ve seen on the internet. He’s only 7 weeks… has anyone had a puppy this young?
Vet marked him down as Jindo, but they didn’t do any kind of testing. A lot of others are saying it’s a “시골개“, which is basically a mutt.
