Incontinent male

• Upvotes

I don't know what I'm looking for. Maybe just support. I can't control My bladder and am looking for people I can talk to about it. I hate the bulk of protection, the sound, and possible embarrassment of odor. I am a +40 male and would love to meet someone who doesn't have s problem/accepting of it. i promise I won't embarrass you of 8 can help it.

diapers leak no matter what i do. can’t stand it. help?

i’m so unbelievably frustrated. my diapers leak on my clothes daily, multiple times a day, despite me doing everything i and the multiple experienced diaper wearers advising me could think of

i usually buy printed diapers from brands like ABUniverse, kiddo, tykables which all have capacities listed at about 6000 ml mostly have also tried ones with even greater capacity like one that claims 9000 ml. i have also tried northshore’s megamax

obviously these numbers are not realistic, but i say them because it isn’t as if i am buying cheap garbage. however, i have measured by weighing them after use over the course of multiple months and my diapers always hold around 1.5 liters (sometimes over or under by a bit. a couple times i have gotten one up to like 2 liters)

i genuinely don’t know if i am simply expecting too much out of them and am bad at judging when i need a change, or if something is going wrong.

list of things i have tried:

- taping in a variety of different ways. looser, tighter, angled various directions

- different sizes (my waist is 28” and the i buy size s or m diapers, usually of a waist size about 28”-40” but i have tried ones that go down to 24”-36” or something like that)

- standing the leak guards up, checking that they sit flush against my skin

- boosters (the diapers just leak at the same volume they would anyway but without saturating the entire diaper itself)

- fluffing my diaper

please please someone say they can help me i’m genuinely at my wits end. i don’t know what i’m supposed to do. i can’t just piss on and wash my pants constantly for the rest of my life!!! it happens so much i don’t even wash them unless it’s a very large leak, i just hang dry them and rewear because what else can i do???

What to do about poop smears?

Sorry if it's tmi. Don't read if you are easily grossed out. I don't have full fecal incontinence very often. Usually there's just some seepage enough to slick up my butt. It feels greasy and disgusting even though my pullons are barely getting dirty. Is there anything I can do about this? It's NOT from poor wiping, it escapes later, usually spiking in incidence after I have had bloody stool.

Do I need protection in water?

I've had minor mucus and stool incontinence maybe 8 to 9 times over the last 3.5-ish years. The amount was always tiny; the last time it happened was at least 7 months ago, if not longer. The thing is, it stopped happening for a while before, but then it crept back, and I had an accident 2 to 3 times in one month. To be fair, at that time, I didn’t do anything to help manage it for a month like I am doing now.It was usually one solid tiny amount, and the rest were 'stool farts'—literally just a splat of slime. It's not diarrhea, but it's not solid either. The difference is that after my last accident, I went to a G.P. and then did pelvic floor exercises for a month, as well as taking a daily fiber supplement drink for a month. These accidents seem to have occurred during times of stress, though, when I think about it. Do I legitimately need swim diapers if I want to swim? I don’t want to waste money for no reason, but if it happens, it just shoots out without any feeling beforehand—literally no warning or sign.

What do you wear over diapers?

I had a bowel resection almost five months ago and am struggling with regulating bowel movements. I had an accident at Disney World last month; that was the first time I had an episode of fecal incontinence outside the home and the first time in many, many weeks leading up to that incident. I had a change of clothes for "just in case" and luckily made it to the restroom before it was a major incident but we then left the park as I was very upset and had no more clothes for the "just in case." When I came home, I got some samples of Northshore Diapers to try for times when I absolutely need protection. What kind of clothes do people wear over this to make it less noticeable? Baggier pants? Do women wear skirts (I am not really a skirt person)? Any advice appreciated.

Incontinence and comorbidities

I kinda want to see, if others are in my bucket. And have to deal with some of the same things i deal with .

First of all, yes, most of us are either incontinent or are dealing with a SO that is. I get that. And this is only associated with my questions. We are mostly all in that bucket.

So some of my diagnosed comorbidities are the following:

HBP (high blood pressure), Urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence/ IBS-D, Diabetes type 2, Diabetic neuropathy, Anxiety, Depression, Autism (level1), ADHD (Audhd), Thyroid Cancer, GERD,

So my real question is, are others dealing with alot also, in any similar ways. Is there a group of us that have this much on our plate + real life, family, spouses, children, jobs too.

Jokingly - do we need to anther support group for something like this.

I will get to it, just after i create the National Procrastination Society group (old joke).

Willing to listen to your thoughts.

My curiosity

What do you call "disposable underwear" ? Diaper, pullups or underwear, Or maybe even something completely different.

Is there a difference between the three?

Also, if you used pads (guards or shields) and switched to the above, what made you switched?

I'm currently wearing pads during the day but I wear pullups at night.

My Husband Judges Me for Wearing Diapers at Home

I’ve been wearing full-size diapers during the day for three weeks now, and honestly, it’s the best decision I’ve made after years of struggling with incontinence.

I’ve dealt with bedwetting for most of my life and have worn diapers to bed since I was 18. I tried everything to manage it, but nothing worked. Seven years later, I started having issues during the day too. I’d get the urge to pee and have maybe 10 minutes to find a toilet before risking an accident. At first, I only wore incontinence briefs for long journeys or nights out with my husband and friends. My husband doesn’t support my decision to wear diapers. He doesn’t like it when I wear them at home, even when the toilet is nearby. He keeps criticizing me for it.

People who have never had this problem will never understand how hard it is. Yesterday, he said that wearing diapers at night is one thing, but wearing them during the day means I’m weak.

Peeing my pants regularly

(26F) for the past year or so, I’ve had a huge issue with urgency when I pee. I get no warning signs, I get the feeling to pee and it’s NOW or I pee my pants. There’s been so many times I have fully peed my pants. I cannot hold it. In the past 2 months, I have wet my bed twice in my sleep. I started wearing big maxi pads during the day and night as protection, and bring extra clothes with me. I struggled with this a lot as a child also but never as a grown adult. I’m 100% sober. I need advice. Should I see a urologist?

Tips for handling job interviews while managing incontinence/wearing diapers?

I'm currently interviewing for a new job and I wear diapers due to a medical condition. This is my first time navigating the interview process with this issue, and I'm feeling a little anxious about it.

For those who have been through this especially those who work in Singapore:

Did you mention anything to HR/interviewers, or keep it completely private?

How do you handle discreetly asking for a restroom break during long/panel interviews?

Any practical tips for staying comfortable and confident during an in-person interview?

Adderall worsen symptoms for anyone?

For context: I have double incontinence but the underlying cause is still unknown

I’ve been trying to track triggers (primarily for bowel leaks). I usually drink a coffee and take 15mg of adderall in the mornings. Today I tried just the coffee, and cut the adderall, since I know caffeine’s a trigger. Crazy enough, I didn’t have any issues.
Later today I take my afternoon dose, and within an hour I have a bowel accident.
I know Adderall and other stimulants make you thirsty and so worsen urinary issues. Still, could Adderall be a trigger, irritant or diuretic too? Any ADHD pals have a similar experience?

I’m incontinent, I’m looking for new friends

I am a 46-year-old man, and I suffer from primary enuresis and severe mixed urinary incontinence (including daytime incontinence). These conditions cause me to urinate involuntarily and uncontrollably, both day and night—in other words, I am constantly wetting myself. During the day, a sudden emotion or a sharp movement can sometimes cause me to lose control; at other times, I feel an urge, but it comes on so suddenly and intensely that it is impossible to hold back—urination follows just seconds later. Most of the time, by the time I even feel the urge, I am already urinating. At night, I have practically never stopped bedwetting; currently, I empty my bladder multiple times while I sleep, without even realizing it. I wear diapers all the time. I would love to connect with other people who are incontinent, just like me! Please, get in touch.

L'incontinence me fait vivre un enfer

Bonjour,

What type of protection do you use while sleeping?

I normally use pull-ups during the day and night, but lately the pull-ups don't last all night and I always wake up with leaks. My parents want to buy tape diapers but we don't know what brand or size to buy because I am very thin due to Duchenne muscular dystrophy.I hope you can help me choose a good product for nighttime 🙏🏻

Best Reusable Diaper

I have PTSD and have had nightmares that have caused bedwetting. It doesn't happen too often, but enough to cause issues. I have on a mattress protector and a reusable pad. What is the best reusable diaper on the market?

Got strip searched at the airport

...and actually my whole trip was perfectly fine. Was anxious about going through the airport for the first time in a pull-up rather than a pad. Got a letter from my urologist about my OAB, emailed the airline/airport and had a hidden disability added to my ticket. Arrived an extra hour earlier than recommended just in case. Changed into a dry pull-up right before security. Disclosed to the technician on the body scan that I was wearing a pull-up pad.

They never looked at the letter, just took me aside into a private screening room with a witness.

I signed a consent then they asked me to take off my outer clothes so I was just wearing a shirt and the product. They ran a wand over me and did an explosives swab.

Whole thing took about 3 minutes and was way less of a big deal than I thought it would be.

I've had agents give me a harder time and delay me for longer about my keychain screwdriver to be quite honest.

I was allowed to carry an extra carry-on bag with my supplies, they gave me an aisle seat near the toilet, I was on pre boarding so I could stay near the toilet while everyone else boarded, the crew warned me when we were about to leave/descend so I could use the toilet before the seatbelt sign came on.

I didn't have an accident the entire time (unlike last time I was on a plane).

Just thought I'd share a positive story on this sub for once!

What to expect with my Urology referral (UK)?

Hiya everyone, I went to the GP the other day and have been referred to the urology department (GP said it's urge incontinence/overactive bladder).

I've been experiencing symptoms for a good while (over a year) and I'm wondering what I can expect at my actual urology appointments. It sounds a bit silly but what will they actually do?

I would love any advice from people in the UK! I'm also a female in my early 20's so it would be nice to hear from anyone else experiencing the same thing.

Peed my Pants in Savers

Throw away acc for obvi reasons.

I take pills for my bladder spasms and I forgot to take them today. I did not realize this until I was out and about.
I had the day off so I decided to take myself out to get an iced coffee and go thrift shopping.

While walking around Savers a spasm hit. Thinking I had taken my medication as usual, I thought it would pass. Boy was I wrong. I leaked a little bit in my pants. Thankfully I was wearing black leggings.

I stood in the aisle looking like an idiot with my legs crossed, waiting for the spasm to pass. But it wasn’t passing and I leaked more. It was at that point that I realized I was peeing my pants.
I ran out of there leaving a trail of small puddles behind me.

Because I didn’t take my meds, my bladder didn’t hold much. So I only peed maybe a quarter cup on the floor.

Sorry to the employee who had to clean up after me.
I ran out of there so fast I wasn’t thinking straight.

I'm beyond tired of shitting and or pissing the bed. I'm ready to try diapers. Just for sleeping.

I'm looking for ones that don't tape so I guess pull ups?
