I sent off my ucas application for physics 2 weeks ago, and now Im suddenly regrettying applying for physics at imperial

Chemistry Interview Advice

I was expecting to receive an interview from Imperial in January, sometime after I had hopefully completed a few interviews at Oxford. I am applying to read chemistry at each university. Rather unexpectedly, I have been offered an interview for the 10th of November, which is much sooner than I was expecting.
I understand the importance of the interview, and already plan to review my personal statement. I just wanted to ask if anyone has some experience with chemistry interviews at Imperial and what to expect. I won't be able to prepare as much as I had initially planned, so this is all a bit stressful. That said, I did my mocks before the half term, so I can commit quite a lot of time to preparing if necessary. Thank you for reading.

Teachers uploading slides only every week

I started uni and one thing that happens here is that professors upload weekly slides and weekly images and even if I understand it I find it very annoying to not have all in one doc that is easily accessible...

How do you guys deal with it (the ones who find that annoying as well) ?

Chances for MiM at Imperial

Hi, I wanted to know how my chances are for Imperial.

I've a masters in physics from a tier 1 institute in India with a cgpa of 8/10. Graduated 4 months ago.

GMAT - 655 (Q90, D83, V78)

I do have 2 internships under my belt (ISRO etc) but they are specifically in astrophysics. I was the design coordinator for a national level club and handled distribution of over a 1000 units of merches. Volunteered for many design clubs in my college, took up a teaching role in my second year as well for an online coaching institute, volunteered for some national science conferences as well. Have some certifications in finance and accounting as well. Coursework is quite physics and maths heavy.

Chances for Msc in Ai applications and Innovations at Imperial?

Been working at a Big 4 company for 3 years as a backend engineer (Java, Python, AWS). B.Tech in IT from a mid-tier college with 8.7 CGPA. Have a published paper in deep learning and an AWS Developer Associate cert.
Thinking of applying for the MSc AI programme for 2027 entry. My concern is that my uni isn't an IIT/NIT and my degree is IT not CS. Does Imperial care about this if the grades and experience are there?
Anyone got in with a similar background? Would appreciate honest opinions.

Profile Evaluation for MSc in AI, Economics, and Policy Program

Hey everyone!

I’m planning to apply for Fall 2027 master’s programs in the US, UK, and Singapore, and I’d love to get your honest feedback on my profile, target schools, and overall chances of admission.

My profile:

  • Undergraduate degree: Electrical Engineering from a Tier-1 institute
  • CGPA: 8.25/10 (3.77 WES-converted GPA)
  • GRE: 324 (166Q, 158V)
  • TOEFL: 110
  • Research: 2 IEEE publications, both first-authored (One of them in AI safety)
  • AI safety and policy: Multiple AI Safety and Policy competitions participation and wins
  • Work experience: ~2.5 years at an MBB consulting firm working in their AI and Data Governance team (Top performer)
  • LORs: 1 from my employer, 2 from professors with whom I’ve co-authored research papers
  • Entrepreneurship: Founded a funded startup during college
  • Extracurriculars: Participated in and won multiple state- and national-level competitions in music and sports

Target program: Imperial College London – MSc AI, Economics and Policy

I’m primarily building my profile around AI safety, with an interest in the intersection of AI, technology policy, and responsible AI development.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts on a few things:

  1. How competitive is my profile for the program?
  2. Am I being too ambitious with it, or do I have a reasonable shot?
  3. Are there any gaps in my profile that I should focus on addressing?

Any honest feedback or suggestions for other programs that align with my interests would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

scared to apply

im in y12 now. i achieved incredibly mediocre GCSE results (5s,6s, and a single 8 in maths) however i still got into my sixth form doings Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Politics, and my EPQ. I want to apply to Economics, finance and data science at Imperial (also LSE but prob wont get in due to my GCSEs). im most likely dropping politics and if i do im confident i can get ATLEAST A*AA (aiming A*A*A*) and a atleast a A (aiming A*) in EPQ. ive finished normal maths content already and already started revising TMUA a year in advance to guarantee a 7.0 and above. the only issue is that i've been hiding a small thing about my GCSEs, i got a 4 in language and a 4 in geography. im not worried about my geo but i am about my language. im going to retake summer and think ill get a 6 (the entry requirment for LSE and Imperials course). but even if i do im scared they wont respect it or think my GCSEs arent competitive enough (this is more severe for my application to LSE). sooooo, do i accept fate at Uni of Hertfordshire?

[Research] £10 voucher for everyone who completes: 25–30 min survey, first-year UK undergraduates (started 2026)

Hi everyone,

I’m Yifeng Xie, a PhD student in the Department of Education at the University of Bath. I’m running the UK part of a UK–Japan–China study on information literacy among first-year university students. The project has a favourable ethics opinion from the University of Bath (reference: 12244-15412).

Who can take part: first-year undergraduates aged 18 or over who started at a UK university in 2026. Please don’t take part if this doesn’t apply to you.

What it involves: an online survey on Microsoft Forms, about 25–30 minutes. It asks about your digital skills, your secondary school computer education and information literacy. You can do it on any device, at any time.

Voucher: everyone who completes the survey with valid responses gets a £10 voucher (most likely Amazon, depending on stock), sent within one month after data collection ends. To receive it, you need to give your university email address. This is optional, but without it we can’t send you the voucher. Your email is collected separately from your answers, used only to send the voucher, and deleted once it has been delivered.

How your data is stored, kept and published: only the research team (and University governance staff where needed) can access your data. It is kept safe and secure, following University of Bath rules and UK data protection law, for at least 10 years, and then destroyed. Results may be published in academic journals, reports and conferences. All published data is anonymised, so nobody can tell whose answers are whose. The only exception to confidentiality is if you tell us something that makes us worried about your safety or someone else’s.

Withdrawal: you can stop at any time without giving a reason. If you close the survey before submitting, no data is saved. If you have already submitted, you can ask us to delete your data by emailing us within two weeks of submission. After that your data is anonymised and can’t be removed. Withdrawing has no effect on your studies.

Consent: at the start of the survey you will read the full Participant Information Sheet and tick a consent form, including confirming that you are 18 or over and taking part voluntarily. You only take part if you tick every box.

Help, can anyone give a review on Environmental Engineering MSc?

I'm thinking of applying for MSc in Environmental Engineering at Imperia.l have done my research but I still have some doubts on whether or not it will be worth it. Anyone willing to share their honest review on the course and it's career potential? I am also considering MSc in Sustainability, Environmental Policy and Innovation (formerly Environmental Technology) as it seemed geared specifically toward ESG, will be better to go for that instead?

For context, I am not from the UK and I am planning to return to my home country upon completing the MSc. I already have a BSc in Environmental Engineering and is currently working as a water infrastructure planner for a township developer. I have graduated only recently (1+ year on the job) and I am aiming to either join a UK based engineering firm (Arup, ERM, Mott Macdonal, etc) in my home country or work as a sustainability analyst (EY, PwC, etc) upon completing my MSc.

CS Course switching

How easy is it to switch to say integrated meng,
computing or the ai variant of computing which is also a masters after starting a bachelors in computing. Is it just a matter of grade averages or just contacting in a certain time period or something else?
