Advice Needed! Hard to socialize?

Is anyone else finding it really hard to socialize during IVF? Not logistically (though that too) but like I just don’t have it in me anymore. I’m going to a wedding with my boyfriend this weekend and I’m just so not into it. I hate feeling like life is on hold since I’ve been at this process with no success for years now, but when it comes to a show up and smile and chat thing I just want to stay in the car, or at home with my dogs if I’m honest.

Anyone else?

ER Finally some good news!

Today we received some good news that we successfully fertilised 20 out of my 30 eggs. Our best result so far! My husband and I are so happy that this round has been so much more positive.

I have lean PCOS (32) and am anovulatory and my husband (36) has slightly low motility.

First round:

15 eggs, 15 mature, 0 fertilised with traditional IVF

Second round:

11 eggs, 10 mature, 7 fertilised through ICSI (4 abnormal, 3 normal) - resulted in 2 x 4BA blasts

Third round:

30 eggs, 28 mature, 20 fertilised through ICSI + Zymot + calcium ionophore - awaiting day 5 results.

I also took a whole bunch of supplements (NMN, Coq10, DHEA, melatonin, myoinositol, prenatal etc.)

Obviously we know that the journey isn't over yet, but we are so relieved to know that we have given ourselves the best possible chance ❤️

TRIGGER WARNING Our first FET 5AA euploid failed.

Trigger warning : Early loss

My husband and I are both 34, and we’ve been trying to conceive for almost 3 years. After 3 IUIs, one egg retrieval, and 2 canceled FET cycles, we finally had our first transfer on October 6 with a Day-6 5AA PGT-A euploid embryo.
My first beta at 9dpt was 318, and I was over the moon. For the first time in years, I genuinely felt like our dream was finally coming true. My second beta at 13dpt was 679, which was a slower rise than expected, but I held on to hope. Today, at 17dpt, my beta dropped to 100, confirming a biochemical pregnancy. I am absolutely heartbroken. After everything we’ve been through, it’s painful to have finally experienced a positive pregnancy test only to lose it so early. We also have male-factor infertility, including elevated sperm DNA fragmentation, and used ICSI with Zymot. One of my previous IUIs resulted in a very low beta of 6 before dropping to zero. I am trying to figure out what to do next.

For those who experienced a chemical pregnancy with a euploid embryo, what additional testing did you request before your next transfer? I know I need to ask for RPL work up, hysteroscopy or any other tests? We did a modified natural protocol with ovidrel and leterzole to support follicle growth. Did you change your FET protocol for your next transfer? I thought this was our best shot with 5AA but I am gutted to say less.

I would really appreciate hearing your experiences, recommendations, or even a little hope right now. I’m feeling incredibly lost.. and have been crying the whole day. Not sure which direction we’re headed to..

FET Let it all go

Hi,

im headed for my second FET after 2 years of fertility treatments, and 1 year of doing IVF. 3 ERs, 1 miscarriage, 1 failed euploid FET. I feel guilty because I’ve kind of completely given up. I’m not exercising, I’m not eating well, and the only thing I do is take my prenatal and follow my Dr’s meds instructions.

I’m not sure what exactly I want but I feel weird about this and I’m worried I’m too burned out and I’m condemning this next one to fail by being so nonchalant about it.

Need Hugs! FET cancelled mid transfer - encouragement needed

hi, looking for shared experiences and reassurance. I have a very long ivf history spanning the last 6 years (started at 33 and now 39). I’ve had multiple egg collections, surgeries, miscarriages, failed transfers ….the list goes on.

anyway, after a 6 month break to regather myself, I started prepping for my very last FET with my own eggs. it was a fully medicated cycle with a down reg, I had a mock transfer that went perfectly, my lining was perfect, progesterone was perfect and I was calm and excited for transfer. Come transfer day they thawed my embryo and it expanded perfectly, but the nurse could not get the catheter in place, she was prodding, twisting and poking for what felt like ages and I was in so much pain, I start to cramp and panic. a senior doctor came in and took over and honestly, it was excruciating and I was crying - so they had to abandon and refreeze my blastocyst.

im numb. I didn’t sleep a wink and cried all night. 4 weeks of injections for nothing. has anyone thawed and refrozen their blastocyst and still had success? I’m genuinely traumatised and annoyed I had to stop. sorry for the rant xx

Rant Where are they getting these water recommendations?!

Literally just a rant this is my 4th transfer so I’ve been in the game for a while but just saw the directions where they say to drink a liter one hour before, I’ve heard the same thing for ultrasounds. What?!? You expect someone to drink 30 plus ounces while their bladder can only hold 10-20, do they think everyone going for a transfer just got rescued from a desert island?!

The one time I got close to a liter my bladder was way too full and they made me empty it twice. Every other time I just drink normally until I have to pee then wait; they always say it’s perfect.

Anyone else get weird directions like this? Idk why it just annoys me for some reason

Need Hugs! 3 only egg fertilise

Hi.
We just received the call from our embryologist and out of 6 eggs only 3 mature and fertilise, we did icsi this time and not sure what to expect…
Last time we had 4 fertilise (it was Before laparoscopy surgery, and treat dna fragmentation) and only 2 days 3 that we transfer and no pregnancy.
Today I feel our chance are 0… and it’s last round. After we going to move to a donor.

Advice Needed! Follicles won’t even grow

I never see anyone talking about how the stims hormones don’t even work for them to grow follicles to even get to the egg retrieval at all.

That’s where I’m at. I have an extremely low AMH (.07), I’m 35, never been pregnant, and the hormone stims are not working for a third time. My follicles won’t grow to even have a procedure. They have tried different regimes and I’m on very high doses of the main hormones.

Why won’t my body respond? Why doesn’t it want to work? Is there anything I could be doing to help it work better? I’m already taking a million vitamins the dr recommended (dhea, melatonin, prenatal, ovanad+, coq10, vitamin d), I try to eat anti inflammatory (but I’m not perfect). Is there any other weird remedies I could try?? I’m desperate!

TRIGGER WARNING Feeling like I lost hope

TW- living child and loss

I’ve been experiencing secondary unexplained infertility for over two years now. We had a loss at 9 weeks back in 2025. Fast forward to 2026. Had my egg retrieval back in July.. we got ONE embryo that made it to blast. It was PGTA tested and he was a euploid! Graded 6CC

I know the odds were stacked against him but he was a euploid so I had so much hope. Had my transfer last week & tested positive at 6dp5dt. By day 7 my test was lighter, and got lighter the more I took. Had my beta yesterday at 9dpt and it was negative.

I feel so defeated. Idk what hurts more, knowing he implanted and tried but failed to grow! If I never tested early I never would’ve even known I was having a chemical because by the time I got around to beta my HCG was negative.

We are starting from scratch again. Have to go into another retrieval cycle but I am so nervous because of the results we had on our first round. I’m going to be 36 in a couple weeks, my husband is 37. If my doctor could pinpoint an issue we could fix it but we can’t figure out why this keeps happening

Advice Needed! Dreading starting IVF again

My husband and I have been trying for almost 4 years with not a single positive test. We did five rounds of IUI before moving on to IVF last year. I did my egg retrieval in December 2025 and five of the six eggs fertilized. We lost all five embryos before day five. It was devastating at the time for us. It was the one “free” cycle we get funded by the government (Ontario, Canada) and my insurance made me run around in circles and never paid the meds they should have covered.

We originally said we would just try IVF the one time, but I never really thought of a scenario where we didn’t even get to the implantation stage.

We have support from family and money for meds from insurance (if I can get them to pay up this time) if we want to do a second round. We decided to try one more time and have a meeting with a clinic with more specialized doctors on Monday. But honestly, I’m just dreading starting it all back up again. I’m turning 38 in December and I just feel like I want to be done with “trying” but I also worry I’ll regret not doing at least one more round of IVF. But it’s weird going into feeling like you’ve already failed. I have so little hope for its success, so why am I spending so much money to just be proven it’s not going to happen for us?

Need Hugs! Anyone with Stage 4 Endometriosis Who Had Better Results After Multiple IVF Cycles?

Hi everyone! ❤️ I’m almost 35, have stage 4 endometriosis, endometriomas, and an AMH of 1.06.
My first IVF attempts resulted in very few mature eggs. My most recent retrieval gave me only 2 eggs, and only 1 was mature.
I’d love to hear from women with a similar profile who went through multiple IVF cycles and consistently retrieved only a few eggs. Did you eventually have success, get a good-quality embryo, or see better results with a different protocol?
I’m feeling discouraged and could really use some hope from women who have been through something similar. ❤️

Advice Needed! Natural vs Medicated FET cycle?

My doctor said it’s up to me which I choose. Natural sounds like a nice reprieve from intense meds, but medicated does give a lot more control over timing which is a pro to me.

This is my first FET, and I’m still waiting on my PGTa results to decide, but wanted to hear from others what you did and how did you come to that decision?

Thank you!

General Question Intense clinic-related anxiety

Does anyone else feel like their clinic triggers a PTSD-like response? Anxiety, panic, feeling sick at the mere thought of going there, struggling to even walk in when you have an appointment?

I have severe DOR, and the whole process just sucks. Since the TFF in my last cycle, I can barely even think about going back to the clinic and seeing the staff without feeling panicky.

They’re all lovely, kind, and empathetic, but just thinking about seeing them makes me feel sick.

Advice Needed! Thawing and refreezing blastocyst

has anyone had success from thawing and refreezing? my day 5 blast (5bc) was thawed, expanded perfectly and then my transfer was cancelled due to issues. they refrozen it but now I’m worried it’ll be damaged, it’s my only one left after 5 x egg retrievels, I’m gutted.

Advice Needed! IVF Insurance?

Hello. I would like as much financial advice possible. Has anyone used any sort of fertility insurance sort of thing? Like Gaia? Or others. NOT insurance through your work but one you pay for on your own. Is it worth it? Is it better to just finance through the fertility clinic?

I live in MA if that matters. The closest clinic to us we are considering is CNY since they advertise being “affordable”. I’m just wondering if paying for “insurance” is better and using a different clinic? Or CNY if they take insurance. I know nothing about ways to afford IVF but want to find the most affordable option. Thank you!!

Advice Needed! CNY location and doctor recommendation

We are in Los Angeles. Asked a few clinics, the estimated costs for an IVF cycle are 25k-30k. An cycle with CNY is only 1/3.

Multiple CNY locations were mentioned by other Redditors, e.g. Sarasota, Buffalo, Albany.

Do you have any positive or negative experience with CNY? Which location and doctor would you recommend? Thank you

Need Hugs! Having a hard IVF day :(

• Upvotes

Context: Just finished my 3rd round of IVF… 39F in great health but with DOR, have had one previous loss at 7 weeks (on April Fools Day, fml) after a spontaneous pregnancy.

We might have gotten pregnant again had we kept at it, but with my age, the DOR, how long it took us to get pregnant the first time, the emotional/physical recovery time lost during the miscarriage/D&C and the fact that we would very much love two children (my husband and I are each one of three) made us decide that embryo banking was the way to go.

First two rounds were a bust. 1 and 2 eggs retrieved, nothing made it past day three.

This time we got 2 SOLID embryos and are waiting on the genetic testing results… it’s the first time I’ve let myself have a shred of hope, I guess.

I also just gave notice at my job because this is likely going to be every cycle for at least the next 6 months, and while we are so lucky that I don’t have to work and can focus on taking care of myself while we try to maximize our cycles, I enjoyed my job, my friends there, it was a big part of my identity and a welcome distraction + routine.

I tell my doctors every time they have to give us bad news “This isn’t a sprint, it’s climbing Everest — it’s hard but I know it can be done.”

And I still believe that. Today I’m just exhausted and feeling adrift (and probably hormone crashing, lol).

Would love to hear some success stories or I dunno, maybe we all just hype each other up in the comments?

Hugs to you all fighting the good fight <3

Advice Needed! Had Genetic study of infertility: KIR receptors and HLA-C genotype test and confused by recommendation

• Upvotes

Hello all, my partner and me had the above test undertaken as part of a suite of tests following two failed euploid transfers.

The results were that my (f) partner had an HLA-C genotype: of C1C1 and a KIR genotype: A/A.

Consistent with the presence of the following KIR receptors: 2DL1, 2DL3, 2DL4, 3DL1, 3DL2, 3DL3, 2DS4, 2DP1, 3DP1.

My results show I also have C1C1.

We were recommended to consult a specialist in immunology on the basis of this result but from what we can see this would only be necessary if one of us had a C2 allotype which we do not.

We're not experts but many of you are so can you get your heads around why this result would make this referral necessary or do you think the fertility doctor was just spooked by the KIR genotype and didn't look or understand that it needs to be in conjunction with a C2 allotype?

Your help is much appreciated.

Advice Needed! Opinions on FET protocol after a miscarriage due to SCH? (Adenomyosis, 2 euploids left)

• Upvotes

I recently had a miscarriage at 7 weeks after transferring a top-grade euploid embryo. I’m looking for opinions from others who have dealt with adenomyosis and SCH.

My REI suspects adenomyosis based on ultrasounds, although I have no symptoms and my pelvic MRI did not indicate it. Before my fully medicated FET, I did 2 months of Lupron Depot suppression. My protocol included estradiol, PIO, doxycycline, Medrol, and baby aspirin. My lining was 9.5 mm on transfer day, and my progesterone was >60.

The embryo implanted, but I developed a massive subchorionic hematoma (SCH) the size of the gestational sac, which caused significant bleeding at 5w4d. I ultimately miscarried at 7 weeks.
My REI has recommended the same protocol for my next transfer, but without baby aspirin and with early pelvic rest.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts on a few questions:

-Could skipping baby aspirin reduce the risk of another SCH?

-Has anyone had a successful fully medicated FET without baby aspirin, with no recurrence of SCH, after experiencing a large SCH in a previous pregnancy?

-Would you stick with the fully medicated protocol given the SCH concern, or consider a modified natural FET even though it can flare the adenomyosis?

-Would you seek a second opinion before transferring another embryo?

I have only 2 euploids remaining, no living children, and will be turning 37 soon. I’m grieving and struggling with the fear of going through this again.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Advice Needed! First retrieval at 29: 19 eggs, 2 blasts, 1 mosaic- Transfer or try again?

Hi everyone, I’m 29 and recently completed my first IVF cycle due to male factor infertility. My husband had bilateral varicocele surgery last year, but his sperm count remains low (5–10 million). My AMH is 1.1, AFC 8–10, and FSH 8.6.

My protocol:
Gonal-F 200 IU + Menopur 150 IU
Cetrotide added during stimulation
Dual trigger: 5,000 IU Pregnyl + 4 mg Lupron
Approximately 12 days of stimulation

Retrieval results:
19 eggs retrieved
13 mature
9 fertilized with ICSI
2 blastocysts sent for PGT-A
1 female mosaic embryo

My doctor is comfortable transferring the mosaic but said she would prefer a euploid embryo if we had one.
I’m torn between transferring our mosaic embryo and doing another retrieval. My biggest concern with transferring isn’t implantation failure, but the possibility of chromosomal abnormalities in the baby.

A few questions:
Has anyone transferred a mosaic embryo and had a healthy genetically normal baby?

Would you transfer the mosaic or do another retrieval at 29? I’m only thinking of transferring to close out this round with insurance.

Has anyone had a similar drop-off from fertilization to blastocyst and gotten better results in a second cycle?

What changes helped improve your results? Different stimulation protocol, supplements, lifestyle changes, or addressing sperm DNA fragmentation?

I’m currently taking a prenatal, CoQ10, NAC, vitamin D, and omega-3s. We’re considering taking 3 months to focus on egg and sperm health before another retrieval.

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences, especially from anyone with similar numbers or male factor infertility! ❤️

Advice Needed! First NHS cycle incoming - multiple losses, low progesterone, adeno / endo ✨

I am due to start (33F no MFI) my first ever IVF cycle, I wanted to see if anyone has a similar background to mine and suggested any extra tests / add ons / protocols etc.

I have had four very early losses in the last 12mos, faint positive tests, usually already bleeding and always resolve themselves without ever seeing an embryo / heartbeat. Progesterone levels at 2 or 3.

Diagnosed mild adeno and endo, had a lap done in March 26 and removed an endometrioma and a small patch of endo, otherwise surgeon believed uterus looked good.

I am starting with a basic protocol of 12x days of Northisterone 5mg, Meriofert 150iu, Ganirelix 0.25mg.

23 follicles counted at this point and a high AMH, hence the reason for a shorter protocol.

Any extra tips or particularly if someone has low progesterone and multiple early losses anything that helped a successful cycle? Thanks 🤍
