Btw, if you ever want to question these ice agents about their stop, ask about reasonable suspicion. That’s the legal basis they need to stop and detain someone. Probably cause is for arrest.

Just want to point out that multiple Jan 6’ers impersonated being “press”
I just think it’s worth noting in case any communities that have been targets of major ice raids have had questionable press/journalists that maybe do stuff like provoke or antagonize or “protestors” that act like someone from the far right told someone to pretend to be a protestor and act like how they define the left. They probably notably pushed other protesters/activists out or maybe threatened them, have caused drama or divide or something similar. A few months ago I know some people reported on experiencing protestors drama like that. Also factoring in how Trump loves to project what the right is doing onto the left it actually perfectly explains the whole paid protestors bs. Also a bunch of Jan 6’ers names appear on IMDb with many of their summaries on the Jan 6 list being basically empty. Here’s that list:

Support Chloe Freeman, Michigan nurse facing a year in prison for assisting immigrant patient
ICE has denied those they’ve snatched up very basic civil and human rights: cutting off their access to attorneys, ignoring the fundamentals of due process, denying them safe food and water and adequate medical care in the camps. But while they mock the rule of law when honoring it might slow the deportation machine, they have zero qualms about using it as a weapon against those who care for and protect our friends and neighbors.
In the latest example, they are throwing the book at Chloe Freeman, a nurse formerly employed by Trinity Health Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Chloe is facing federal misdemeanor charges, accused of helping an immigration detainee escape Border Patrol custody at her hospital, and could serve up to a year in prison if convicted.
The detainee, a Mexican man identified as “OBP,” injured his head on May 28 when agents attempted to arrest him and was taken to Chloe’s hospital for treatment and a CT scan, where he was left alone by the deportation force. Chloe reportedly removed his IV line and guided him to a hospital exit. She informed the FBI that she “knew she was going to set him free” but did not believe OBP was in custody because of the lack of presence of agents in the room. She has earned widespread support, including from fellow nurses who’ve noted it is not the responsibility of medical staff to hold patients for law enforcement or prevent them from leaving against medical advice.
Chloe is currently out on a $10,000 bond, but has lost her job and has a difficult and draining legal fight ahead of her. 💵✍🏽 We can donate to help her during that process at her attorney-verified GoFundMe here. We can also send her messages of solidarity by writing to her via her legal team at:

ICE firms bankrolling GOP while cashing in on Trump contracts
Oct 15, 2026 - Patrick Terpstra for Scripps News. Here’s the full 5-minutes on:
* Scripps News’ website (video + article): Major ICE contractors shower Republican candidates with campaign cash - Oct 15, 2026 (Scripps News website)
Description: Corporations holding lucrative government contracts to carry out President Trump's immigration agenda have contributed millions of dollars to Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterm election. :~:~: Scripps News review of Federal Election Commission records found The GEO Group — the nation's largest owner of immigration detention centers — funneled $4.4 million through a subsidiary, GEO Reentry Services LLC, to MAGA Inc., a super PAC supporting President Trump. The same subsidiary gave an additional $1.3 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC focused on preserving the GOP's congressional majority. :~:~: Campaign finance experts say companies sometimes make political donations through subsidiaries — which are not technically classified as federal contractors — to sidestep an FEC rule that bars contractors from contributing directly to candidates and political committees. :~:~: FEC records also show political action committees for both GEO Group and CoreCivic, the second largest operator of ICE detention centers, are contributing directly to dozens of Republicans on the ballot — including members of Congress who sit on committees with direct oversight of DHS spending and immigration policy.

The Hidden Data Pipeline From Your 911 Call to ICE
The De-ICE Action Network, the folks who successfully pressured Citizens Bank into ending their financing of detention camp operators like the GEO Group and CoreCivic, are getting engaged in a new campaign, highlighting how our local law enforcement agencies are sharing their records with the private data broker LexisNexis… who are then selling access to ICE and other federal agencies. They’re working to cut off this pipeline and keep sensitive private data away from the deportation machine. We can learn more this effort in a webinar this Thursday at 12:15 PM ET – and can sign up to get access to a toolkit even if we can’t make it here.

How many states have unlawful assembly laws?
So in California (at least in Los Angeles) often times protests end with some loudspeaker announcing an unlawful assembly followed with the protest suddenly being shut down by police who typically keep saying clear the area as they push people out (and often times use excessive force) which is understandably met with varying pushback from protesters because they feel like their right to protests is being infringed upon (ftr I also think it’s infringing but I’m trying to explain this without too much opinion) but many people aren’t aware that there’s CA penal codes 407 and 408
407: provides the legal definition of an unlawful assembly. The statute provides that “Whenever two or more persons assemble together to do an unlawful act, or do a lawful act in a violent, boisterous, or tumultuous manner, such assembly is an unlawful assembly.”
408: is the California statute that makes it a crime for a person to participate in an unlawful assembly. This means for two or more people to gather together to do something illegal, or to do a lawful act in a violent manner. A violation of this code section is a misdemeanor offense.
I know from suing the county over something that they use any “crime” they can including things such as tagging buildings, impeding traffic, something being thrown at officers even a bottled water etc etc as excuse to spam the unlawful assembly button.
I think a few months ago i remember seeing a video from Delaney hall and heard unlawful assembly be called so I was wondering if people from other states have similar laws. I don’t really know what could be done about it except maybe getting civil rights lawyers involved

ICE agent David Gonzalez III, from McAllen, TX, accused of drunkenly assaulting a 72-year-old Fresno, California homeowner and his daughter
According to a release from the district attorney’s office, Gonzalez was found sleeping on the front lawn of a Fresno home during the early morning hours Oct. 9, 2026, when the homeowner asked him to leave.
“Gonzalez assaulted him, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain visible injuries. During the incident, Gonzalez also threw the victim into a neighbor’s parked vehicle, causing significant damage to the side of the car,” the news release said. “When the homeowner’s daughter intervened to help her father, Gonzalez assaulted her as well, causing her to fall to the ground.”
Fearing for his safety and his daughter’s safety, the unidentified homeowner shot Gonzalez. He was later hospitalized.
