Not sure if it's the snow, the lone yellow tree or both, but all signs point to the end of the riding season for me. Until next spring...

General Questions Getting mine back on the road after two years.

As the title says, I parked the Rukus in the garage about two years ago, expecting to ride again the next day off or whenever....

Yeah, that didn't happen. Life gets in the way.

I tried starting it a few weeks ago, unsurprisingly, nothing happened. My battery tender doesn't even recognise the battery that's in there, so that will definitely need to be replaced.

I put sea foam in the gas pretty regularly so the gas that's in there MIGHT not be too bad, but I'll at least drain the tank and start with fresh.

Other basics like air in the tires and a thorough visual inspection will happen my next day off.

What else? Tips and suggestions appreciated.

Looking for someone who might have done a conversation and has a stock motor available. I have a 2020 Ruckus with 4,200 miles on it. It’s making some crazy noises. Afraid it’s gonna blow up. In NE Ohio. LMK.

Hey ruckus peeps!

I saw this ruckus build and noticed something i havent seen before.

What is that piece that connects the front of the seat to the floor of the frame?

Is that something you can buy or was that welded on?

Fills in that gap nicely and looks sweet.

If anybody knows how to do that... please let me know!!

Thanks!

Almost stripped screw (asking next steps)

My dumb self used a Philips head screwdriver to try and remove the screws underneath the throttle and handle grips. I successfully removed the left without any issues but the throttle was tight. I got a manual impact driver but I’m still unable to remove the screw and fear I may make it worse. Should I just try and take it to a custom motorcycle shop for help with swapping my handle bars? I don’t have a scooter shop near me but I got a a custom motorcycle shop a few mins down the road that I can ride to. I know I’m dumb

Ruckus Replica

Since this thread has informed ruckus enthusiasts...

Can anyone inform me on this stretched out 150cc scooter with the GY6 already in it from Venom Motorsports for 2,500?? Its an exact ruckus replica.

Is the engine surrounded by a bunch of crap?

Why so cheap?

Is anyone informed on this?

Thanks!

Mechincal/Build Help Please help before I throw it away

I have a 2009 Honda ruckus that I bought in 2024. Been slowly chipping away at it to get it back up and running. About a month ago, I finally got it running. I had replaced the fuel pump, the carburetor with an aftermarket “upgrade” from scooterswapshop.com. It ran well, drove around for about 15 minutes. Came back and saw that the ruckus temperature light was on. So I let it set and cool.

Went to turn it back on, about 4 hrs later, and I get nothing. The fuel pump doesn’t prime, I just get electrical clicks when hold down the starter. And when I inserted the starter, I get one click, the rear taillight clicks on once at the same time as that click, then nothing else happens.

I should note, previous owner subverted the ignition switch with a guitar amp aux. when you plug that in, it would prime the pump and allow the bike to starter. I should ALSO note, I have replaced that with a new starter, I even bought a used harness to replace the old wiring in case I melted/fried something or in case it was corroded somewhere. It definitely was corroded around the aux jack they installed. I also got a new fuel pump in case I blew that up to.

After replacing all of that, I get the same result. I have no idea where to go from here. Like is the ECM fried? Do I just throw the bike away? Idk what to do.

Mechincal/Build Help Stripped Crankshaft and Drive Face

So I think I seated the drive face incorrectly when I put it back together now the crankshaft and possibly drive face have stripped each other pretty bad.

The problem I’m running into is that even with a spanner tool to hold the drive face in place in order to remove the 12mm nut from the crankshaft bolt, it just spins because again, there is nothing to hold it in place.

I’ve tried taking it to a bike mechanic to explain what happened but they just came back at me a week later with the “we need to fix these first” problem about it needing an air filter/spark plug/carb clean/carb rebuild. Despite me telling them that the crankshaft is stripped out. I’ve seen it with my own eyes with the crankshaft case open. It’s just fucking metal rubbing metal spinning. Running it further will make this problem worse.

I know what I did is going to be an incredibly expensive fix, but I just want someone to fucking just outright tell me is it even possible to remove the nut from the crankshaft bolt without using the drive face or special tools?

Sunnys/Goggle recommendations

Heyo! I have tried and tried but continue to fail finding sunglasses or goggles that work with my half shell helmet. I’ve been trying some really nice Smith photochromic ones lately but they’re still not giving me the best wind protection. I prefer sunglasses for the versatility, but would happily switch to goggles as long as they don’t look goofy as hell. I’m wondering what you folks are using and if there’s anything you’ve found that is good for all around use and less wind and grit.

Any interest in these side steps?

I’ve been designing and 3D printing these side steps for the Honda Ruckus and wanted to see if there’s any interest in them.

They’re made from durable 3D-printed PETG, and I can make them in any color you want, or even with a carbon fiber finish on top.

I’m thinking $50 is a reasonable price for a set since I make and finish them myself, I’d also replace anything if there ever were a problem..If you’d be interested in a set, comment below or shoot me a message. I’m just trying to gauge interest before making more.

I’m also down to share the print file if you have a printer large enough and want to make them yourself!

Let me know what you guys think!

Leather under the seat bag

Morning Ruckus friends! I am looking for feedback on designing a faux leather under the seat bag. There seams to be only nylon offerings in the market. Would you be interested in this design? Not the final, but something sleek like this....similar to a motorcycle swing arm design...

General Questions CVT Weights Tuning Question

I have a Polini variator and recently switched my 5.4g rollers to 4.5g sliders.

The initial result is as expect, acceleration from a stop is around 8400rpm which is what I was going for and it feels great, however around 30kph (20mph) it "kicks in to high gear" somewhat suddenly and rpm drops to 7200rpm or so and drops out of power band and has a hard time accelerating from there.

Previously on the heavier rollers it would accelerate from a stop at around 8000rpm and would hold 8000 right up past 55kph or so.

Any tips to help hold the rpm higher for longer?

It's an even bigger problem when I accelerate up to top speed and then slow down and try to speed up again, it seems "stuck" in high gear and will sometimes be trying to accelerate at full throttle as low as 5000rpm and struggles a lot
