Call for Papers: Special Issue on Educational Informatics
The rapid digital transformation of education is reshaping how knowledge is created, shared, and applied. This disruption demands a fundamental rethinking of learning processes, pedagogical models, and educational institutions. We invite submissions for a Special Issue on Educational Informatics—an emerging interdisciplinary field examining the interplay of education, information science, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Beyond technical tools, Educational Informatics explores how data-driven systems and digital environments transform learning theory, institutional design, and knowledge ecosystems. It fosters critical inquiry into human–AI collaboration, teacher and learner agency, ethics, governance, and the philosophical foundations of teaching and learning in an automated world.
We invite original research articles, theoretical perspectives, critical reviews, and case studies. Key topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Conceptual Frameworks: Epistemological, philosophical, and interdisciplinary foundations. Data & AI Systems: Learning analytics, educational data science, and intelligent learning environments. Pedagogy & Collaboration: Adaptive instruction, human–AI co-creation, and evolving educator roles. Assessment & Platforms: Next-generation LMS, automated feedback, and intelligent evaluation. Ethics & Policy: Algorithmic governance, data privacy, equity, and institutional strategy.
Selected high-quality contributions will be considered for publication in the special issue, with potential inclusion in an upcoming edited volume on Educational Informatics.
