Minimum size for round posts?
Looking to set some posts in my backyard that doesn’t really have suitable trees. And like the looks of round posts instead of square. 6” is considered the minimum diameter for round posts right? I’ve got an 11’ Dutch asym with ridgeline so after playing around with a hammock calculator it looks like 13’ distance would give a around a 5.5’ hang height which would work well for 10’ tall posts buried 3.3’ in the ground. Would out my anchor about 1 foot below top of post which should look nice.
For aesthetics I’m trying to avoid using a top cross brace…would 6” round posts be suitable for what I’m looking at here or should I bump up to 8” or 10” diameter? Larger diameter looks better in general but will be more difficult to find for sale/harder to set since pressure treated 10” diameter 10ft posts are like 300+ lbs. Not planning on using concrete at base since I need to leave the option to remove these in the future. Will compact the backfill in 6” lifts to keep things solid. Should I backfill with dirt or 3/4” gravel?
Anything else I’m not considering? I will plan on setting them at a slight angle to add tension resistance.

Asym vs Wide vs 12'
I am pretty new to hammock camping. For reference I am 6'1" and 200lbs. I have been researching and learning for the past few months, and spent hours testing in the backyard and three nights in the woods. I am convinced that I sleep better in a hammock than a sleeping pad. I am not convinced that I have maximized my hammock comfort. So far I have bought and tried an HG Circadian, a Onewind 11', and my latest is a Dutch Asym netless.
The Circadian is most comfortable with the foot raised 6-12" and with a slightly slack ridgeline. I have spent three nights in it to figure that out. The Onewind has only been used in the backyard for a few hours at a time. I would say it is as comfortable as the Circadian, but haven't tried it overnight. It was under $50 as an Amazon return, and is a little heavier.
I wanted something lighter for non-buggy season and decided to dry the Dutchware Asym. I have not slept overnight in it yet. I think I do get a slightly flatter lay in it. The 1.6 fabric feels more rigid to me than my other two, and after laying in it for an hour the pressure from the wall pushes my foot enough to cause a little ankle discomfort. I hope to get some test sleeps in this week.
Since I can't stop myself from exploring I have a Just A Bridge from Townsend on order. Don't tell my wife.
All of that said: with both comfort and weight in mind, and with my height of 6'1" in mind, would getting a 12' gathered end, or an 11' wide, offer me any advantages to the Asym?
I have a desire to get a 12' to experiment with whipping the ends to try different asym options.
I live in Central Washington, and have not found any evidence of hangs nearby where I could get experience and learn from more experienced campers.
TLDR: what would offer more benefits to a 6'1" camper: Asym, 12', or wide?

Welches Tarp über meine Hängematte?
Welches Tarp über meine Hängematte?
Helloo,

Hammock with stand
Hi all! I’m looking for a good recommendation for a hammock with a stand that’s sturdy enough to hold 2 people (around 350 combined weight). I’m not planning on using it for camping, I mostly want to have it on my covered back porch for reading and relaxing. All of the recs I see are quilted camping style, and that’s not really what I’m looking for. Thank you for any recommendations!

ENO Park-Lite use cases
i love this thing. it isn't practical as a chair or a hammock. but I have slept in it and it is such a cozy space. There is an under-quilt on there because i get chilly. the Under-quilt had to be hung on separate loops from the arms of the stand due to the way the hammock feeds through the arms. i know ENO isnt the best price to performance brand, but for a consumer who wants minimal tinkering , or has a very small space, this product is great. At ~44" long and ~28" wide. I use the ENO-Park-Lite as my office chair, and it works for me. Does anyone else use this weird hammock adjacent item?

Longterm Hammock/Net Set Up
I’ve got this idea for a larger hammock that I can use as a two person bed. I’m annoyingly allergic to dust mites and am basically REQUIRED to vacuum my mattress once a week. I also have hip and back issues after the military and fall asleep like a baby in a hammock.
I’ve been highly recommended + inspired to give full time hammock sleeping a shot. However, I still enjoy the bed look. My partner would also still like to sleep near me. I don’t mind sleeping in separate hammocks, but wanted to see if I could make something different.
The first photo is similar to the netting I would use (maybe something smaller netting hole size. And the second photo is a sketch I made with a center line that could be tightened.
Any pros out there with advice/opinions? I’m all ears.

Can a hammock be attatched to a porch swing's chain?
I have a porch swing, but hammocks are REALLYY awesome, and I dont have any place to put one. I thought of the idea that a hammock could be like secured above a porch swing. Here was an idea I had for it, and I was wondering how I could do so, or perhaps if it already exists?
