General Tentative Decision: Dr. Patty (Pukpinyā Jangjetriew) & Dr. Ratchathorn Pancharaprateep to be added to list of scoutable doctors

After considerable discussion and no objections raised, we’re posting a tentative decision to add the following surgeons to the list of scoutable doctors:

• Dr. Patty (Pukpinyā Jangjetriew)

• Dr. Ratchathorn Pancharaprateep

This is not a final addition yet. As with all candidates, we are looking for independent, patient-posted reviews (not surgeon-submitted or clinic-promoted content) to support inclusion.

If you are a patient of either surgeon and are willing to share your experience, please feel free to do so. Reviews should ideally include:

• Clear before / after photos

• Timeline details

• Graft count and technique

• Honest discussion of positives and negatives

Once sufficient independent documentation is available, the mod team will revisit this and make a final determination.

Progress Update 12-month update: 2,732 grafts with Dr. Bekir Bek, Ankara — September 2025

Hi everyone, sharing my progress photos from surgery through 12 months.

I had my transplant with Dr. Bekir Bek in Ankara on September 22–23, 2025. The procedure took place over two days, with 2,732 grafts in total. I paid €2.30 per graft at the time, September 2025 pricing.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with the result. What I appreciate most is the natural hairline and the direction the hairs grow in.
By about month 5, I was already very happy with the appearance, although it continued to develop afterward. The photos show the progression throughout the year.

My experience with the doctor and his team was very positive. He explained the procedure step by step, and everyone was attentive and kind during both days. The local anesthetic injections were the most uncomfortable part for me. (But nothing related to doctor skills)

Communication was very good before and after surgery too. I received detailed aftercare instructions and felt supported during recovery. For anyone wondering about accommodation, the hotel he recommended was within walking distance of the clinic, which was convenient.

For context, I also started oral finasteride and oral minoxidil through Hims immediately after surgery and took them daily throughout the year without missing a dose. Medication is part of the picture alongside the transplant. I don’t smoke or use recreational drugs, and I very rarely drink alcohol.

A sincere thank-you to Dr. Bekir Bek and his team. Based on my personal experience, I would recommend him, and I’m grateful for the care and attention that went into my result. 👏🏻🙏🏼
Happy to answer questions about my experience or recovery.

Seeking Advice When will the front of my hairline look normal? Does it look as weird as I think?

I’m almost 3 weeks post hair transplant and I have a lot of discoloration on the front of my head along with my newly implanted graphs that have not yet shed that look like a man’s stubble beard. I understand this is part of the process, but I think it looks really weird when will the discoloration subside and these thick hairs fall out?

Progress Update Dr. Bhumik Shah (New Jersey) - 4-month update ~3,500 grafts

As the title says, here are my results at 4 months (125 days to be exact). Pics show my hair pre-surgery on the left side and results at 4 months on the right side. More about the surgery and doc below.

The basics: I’m 41, taking oral min and oral fin for years prior with no side effects. I was looking for a more conservative approach with no desire to lower my hairline.

The surgery: I’ll start by saying that Dr Shah is the man. Can’t say enough good things about him - elite doc imo. He does every step of the process himself using stick and place method with one or two technicians sorting grafts as he completes the actual surgery. He is so dialled-in and meticulous it’s really gives you comfort.

We decided to take a two-step approach with front and midscalp surgery first which was this past June and an eventual crown surgery down the line.

Surgery was not a big deal at all. Was very nervous going into it but his demeanour and confidence put me at ease (the meds helped too haha). 3,000 grafts from my scalp and 500 or so from my beard. We also experimented with some chest hairs to assess future viability.

I’m very happy with where I’m at today. I already feel satisfied but I know there’s more to come.

Choosing a Surgeon Recommend clinics for hairline repair?

• Upvotes

Hi. I had a hair transplant in an Irish clinic and they made my hairline really unnatural and pluggy. I also still lack density in the crown and midscalp. I’m looking to get this fixed somewhere in Europe but don’t know who to go to. I had looked at Dr Ted Miln in the UK as he seems to have a good reputation but his prices have gone up from £3 to £3.50 for hair grafts and up to £4.50 for beard grafts. When converting to € this would be €5.33 for beard grafts and I would need more beard grafts as my donor area is depleted. I don’t want to do it too cheaply either. Any advice.

Progress Update 38 days post DHI 4500 grafts update. Ugly duckling phase has started, got first haircut on the sides today.

Pain is gone now, only 2 sensitive spots on donor site, but it’s getting less. Donor site looks good imo, I was very concerned about overharvesting because of the number of grafts, however it looks okay for 1 month post procedure + wheb hair is longer it’s even less prominent. Ugly duckling phase has started around 3-4 weeks after transplant, and I’m in it currently. It’s the part that sucks the most, but I hope it will get better the next months. I got the sides trimmed to a fade, with a trimmer and a plastic attachment not to damage the donor area and honestly it makes you look a lot better, and not look like a kiwi. I’m curious what you guys think :)

Seeking Advice Doctors in Europe that use beard grafts?

• Upvotes

Hello,

As the title states, I’m looking for doctors in Europe that use beard hairs along with scalp hairs as donors.

I have a pretty decent beard and my donor area is OK, but I’d need around 4000-4500 grafts, so I thought I could use some from my beard mostly for density.

Looking only in Europe and my budget is 6000€.

Thank you all for the help.

General Dr Ratchathorn December / January Swap Date

Hi Everyone,

I have a hair transplant surgery with Dr. Ratchathorn for Jan 17 afternoon session, meaning its for less than 3500 hair grafts.

I am looking for an earlier swap to either late December after the 23rd or after January 5th to the 15th. Hoping to get an earlier date than the one I have scheduled.

I know she does not do surgery from the 28th to the 3rd, so any dates before or after that would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking Advice Day 51 after FUE – significant scalp flaking/redness in recipient area. Seborrheic dermatitis, minoxidil irritation or something else?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m currently 51 days (7 weeks + 2 days) post-FUE hair transplant and I’m looking for experiences from people who had something similar.

Over the last period I’ve developed quite a lot of white/yellowish scaling/flaking in the recipient area, especially around the frontal hairline. The skin underneath also looks somewhat red/pink.
I’m using 5% Regaine (minoxidil) foam, although unfortunately I don’t remember exactly when I started using it.

I don’t have significant pain, swelling or pus. The transplanted hairs/grafts themselves seem to be stable, and I don’t see obvious round bald patches or significant hair breakage.

I’m wondering whether this could be:
normal post-transplant skin dryness/irritation, seborrheic dermatitis, irritation from minoxidil foam, fungal infection or something else

I’m also wondering about sauna use. At 7 weeks I assume the grafts themselves should be secure, but given the redness and scaling I’m currently hesitant to go.

Has anyone experienced similar scaling/redness around 6–8 weeks after an FUE?

Did it turn out to be seborrheic dermatitis, minoxidil irritation, or something else? How did you treat it, and how long did it take to resolve?
I’ve attached close-up photos.
Thanks in advance for any experiences/advice!

Choosing a Surgeon Quale struttura scegliere

Buongiorno,

Can someone please tell me how many grafts are required here. I just started fin and min and thought ill do a hair trasnplant in 1 year if my crown hasn't filled up . Its diffused thinning , so dont want to have shock loss . Pictures of crown in different angles and lighting. Will fin and min help cover the crown ? Get my density back or if I go the hair trasnplant route then how many grafts are we looking at

Seeking Advice Sleeping doubts after HT (day 9)

Hey everyone

I’m on day 9 post-HT (hair transplant). I had a transplant to increase hair density across the entire top of my scalp.
I’ve been experiencing quite severe neck pain and cervicogenic headaches, most likely due to sleeping in the elevated position I was instructed to maintain after the procedure.
I still have some scabs on my scalp, but my clinic told me I could return to sleeping normally at this stage.
Do you think 9 days post-op is enough time to safely sleep on my side, even if I still have some scabs? I’m really struggling with the neck pain and headaches, so I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Progress Update 18 months results - some questions

Dr Zafer did this at Estenove Clinic in IST - it was 4300 grafts taken. Recovery was smooth Generally ok but looking for feedback on density and donor area on back and sides. There seems to be a dark ring at the upper rear where the donor area ends but maybe this disappears when grown out? They said a 2nd visit was necessary for crown but now said not enough recocery in donor to do this. TAny ideas?

Around 6 months in now, pretty happy with it tbh. Had 4272 grafts at Pure line clinic with Dr. Mesut. Was mostly worried about the hairline looking natural but I think it's looking pretty good so far.
