મારા બાએ ૧૯૬૯ માં ૧૫ દિવસની શાક ભાજી ની સાચવણી અને કેળવણીની તાલીમ પ્રાપ્ત કરેલી.

આ તેના પ્રમાણપત્ર માંથી મેં ફોટો પડ્યો કારણ કે મને આ ફોન્ટ અને બોર્ડર બઉ ગમી.

મિત્રો સાથે લારી પર ચા પીવી, કંઈક ગરમાગરમ ખાવું અને ગપ્પાં મારવાં — આ નાની નાની મોજની વાત જ અલગ છે.

કોઈની મનપસંદ જગ્યા કોલેજ પાસેની ચાની લારી હશે, તો કોઈને જૂની ફરસાણની દુકાનના ગોટા કે કચોરી બહુ ભાવતી હશે.

તમારા શહેર કે ગામમાં એવી કઈ જગ્યા છે જ્યાં ચા-નાસ્તા માટે વારંવાર જવાનું મન થાય? જગ્યા ક્યાં આવેલી છે અને ત્યાં શું ખાવું જોઈએ એ પણ કહેજો.

કદાચ કોઈને તમારા શહેરની એક સરસ જગ્યા વિશે પહેલી વાર જાણવા મળે! 😄

Some of us have lived here our entire lives. Some have moved away but still call Gujarat home.

Yet there are so many people across our own state we've never had the chance to know.

That got us thinking.

So we recently started r/GujaratCommunity.

Not another news page or promotional group. Just a little space where people from across Gujarat can talk, share experiences, discover common interests, make new friends, and hopefully create some wonderful memories together.

We're starting from zero, and we genuinely don't know how far this will go.

But we believe something good can begin with just a few people who want to be part of it.

I keep seeing mixed opinions about Rann Utsav, so I'd love to hear from people who have actually been.

The tent city packages look pricey, and a lot of people say staying in Bhuj and doing a day trip is cheaper. But then you miss the sunset and sunrise on the white desert, which seems to be the whole point.

For those who went:

- Did you stay in the tent city or in Bhuj?

- Was the tent city worth the extra cost?

- Which month or week worked best (crowds, weather, moon)?

- Anything you wish you'd known before going?

Would also love to hear if you'd skip it altogether. Honest opinions welcome!

માણો ગામના ગરબા

Long shot but anyone here from Rajula district? My family wants to visit Sankheshwari Mata Mandir. Any idea if there's good network? I know it is close to Gir so worried about coverage. I will need to work and attend calls so will need network during our stay. TIA

રૂડાં રોટલાના ધણી જ રહેવા દયો અમને,

પિઝાની ઇજા, અમારાથી સહન નહિ થાય.

વાળુ ટાંણે ભરેલા, બે મરચાં થાળીમાં મૂકજો,

પડીકીયું તોડીને મસાલો, અમારાથી નહિ ખવાય.

દેશી ગાયનું દૂધ અમને, તાંહળી ભરીને આપજો,

ઠંડાપીણા નો વે'વાર, અમારાથી નહિ સચવાય.

ઘી, માખણ ને મરચે, ચોપડેલ રોટલો બઉ ગમે,

ઓનલાઈન મંગાવેલ ખાણું, અમથી નઈ જીરવાય.

તાંહળીમાં ચોળી, પાંચેય આંગળીએ ખાવા દયો,

કાંટા ચમચીએ તો વળી, કેમ કરીને ખવાય?.

પલાઠી વાળીને બેસીએ, બાજોઠે હોય રોટલા,

આ વળી ટેબલ ખુરશીથી, બઉ કંટાળી જવાય.

પીરસાયેલી થાળીએ, પરમેશ્વરને યાદ કરીએ,

ભર્યા ભાણાની સેલ્ફીયું લેવી, અમને નઈ પોહાય.

સાચું ખાણું આ જ છે, તૃપ્ત આનાથી થવા દયો,

આવે જે અમીનો ઓડકાર, "એ કેમ ભુલાય?.....".

મિત્રો, આપના ગુજરાતમાં અને પર્યટન ના સ્થળો છે પણ અમદાવાદ ની નજીક કયા કયા એવા સ્થળો છે જ્યાં જે શકાય?

પર્વત, ડુંગર, ઝરણા, જંગલો ને વધુ ભાર આપશો.

મારા અનુભવ પ્રમાણે ન સ્થળો:

મને ગમેલા સ્થળો થોડા દૂર છે જેમાં:

જવાઈ, રાજસ્થાન

પોલો ફોરેસ્ટ, ગુજરાત

જાંબુઘોડા, ગુજરાત

એકતા ની મૂર્તિ (SOU), ગુજરાત

સમાવિષ્ઠ છે.

આપ મને વધુ સ્થળો વિશે જાણકારી આપી શકો, હું પર્વતોનો માણસ છું.

નવરાત્રી આવે એટલે ગરબાના સૂર સાથે કેટલીય મીઠી યાદો પણ જીવંત થઈ જાય છે.
વર્ષોથી સાંભળેલા અને ગાયેલા એ જ પરંપરાગત ગરબા આજે કીબોર્ડ પર વગાડવાનો આનંદ માણ્યો.
ગરબાના આ સૂર આપ સૌને પણ જૂની નવરાત્રીઓની યાદ અપાવે એવી આશા.

આપણા ગુજરાતી વડીલોને દેશી ઘી, માખણ, ગોળ, ગુંદરપાક અને લાડવા વિશે વાત કરવી બહુ ગમે. અને પશ્ચિમી ખોરાકની વાત આવે એટલે બ્રેડ, પિઝા, બર્ગર ને બીજી એવી વસ્તુઓને ઉતારી પાડવામાં જરાય વાર ન લાગે. પછી પોતાની ખાવાની તાકાતનાં વખાણ તો ખરા જ! અમે તમારા જેવડા હતા ત્યારે ડોલ ડોલ લાડવા ખાઈ જતા!

જો આપણી ખાણીપીણી અને જીવનશૈલી આટલી જ શ્રેષ્ઠ હતી, તો આજે આપણા વડીલોની શારીરિક ક્ષમતા ક્યાં છે? આપણે ભાગ્યે જ ૬૦-૭૦ વર્ષના ગુજરાતીઓને દોડતા, મુશ્કેલ ટ્રેકિંગ કરતા કે કોઈ પડકારજનક રમત રમતા જોઈએ છીએ. મોટા ભાગે તો લાકડી ને સહારે જ જોઈએ. સામે પશ્ચિમી દેશોમાં આ ઉંમરના લોકો મેરેથોન દોડતા, સાઇકલિંગ કરતા અને પહાડો ચઢતા જોવા મળે છે.

દરેક પશ્ચિમી વ્યક્તિ તંદુરસ્ત નથી અને દરેક ગુજરાતી બીમાર કે અશક્ત નથી. ઉંમર, આનુવંશિકતા, આર્થિક સ્થિતિ અને આરોગ્યસેવાઓ જેવા અનેક પરિબળો અસર કરે છે. પણ આ તફાવત આપણને એક સવાલ તો પૂછવા મજબૂર કરે જ છે. શું ખરેખર બધો ખેલ માત્ર ખાવાપીવાનો છે?

દેશી ઘી ખાવું કે બ્રેડ, એના કરતાં પણ વધારે મહત્ત્વનું છે કે આપણે આખો દિવસ કેટલા સક્રિય રહીએ છીએ. ચાલવું, દોડવું, વજન ઉપાડવું, સ્નાયુઓ મજબૂત રાખવા, સંતુલન જાળવવું અને ઉંમર વધે એમ પણ શરીરને પડકારતા રહેવું આ બધું એટલું જ જરૂરી છે. ઘી ખાવાથી કોઈ આપમેળે તંદુરસ્ત નથી બની જતું, અને બર્ગર ખાવાથી કોઈ આપમેળે બીમાર નથી થઈ જતું.

આપણે આપણા વડીલોની વિચારસરણી એકાએક બદલી શકીએ એમ નથી. પણ આપણી પેઢી પાસે હજી તક છે. આપણે આપણાં બાળકોને માત્ર સારું ખાવાનું જ નહીં, પણ સારું જીવવાનું પણ શીખવીએ. તંદુરસ્તીનો અર્થ માત્ર પેટ ફાટાફાટ ખાવું નહીં, પણ ૬૦-૭૦ વર્ષની ઉંમરે પણ પોતાના પગે મજબૂતીથી ચાલવું, દોડવું, રમવું અને સ્વતંત્ર રહેવું હોવો જોઈએ.

આપણે લાડવા ખાવાની પરંપરા જાળવીએ, પણ સાથે શરીરને સક્ષમ રાખવાની પરંપરા પણ શરૂ કરીએ. આગામી પેઢીને માત્ર એ કહેવું કે અમે તમારા જેવડા હતા ત્યારે ડોલ ડોલ લાડવા ખાતા હતા તેના કરતાં એવું કહેવાનો પણ વારો આવવો જોઈએ કે અમે તમારા જેવડા હતા ત્યારે મેરેથોન દોડતા હતા.

One thing I love about Navratri is how every outfit has its own character — colourful chaniya cholis, mirror work, kediyu, bandhani prints, oxidised jewellery, and those little details that make traditional Gujarati fashion so special. ❤️
