Hey everyone! Hoping someone knows what I'm doing wrong and can help. I have a Verizon gateway, Google Wifi router /w 3 APs, and 2 MoCA adapters. I do not have cable TV. For years I've had the Wifi Router and 3 APs connected wirelessly in a mesh.
Right now I have the below config:
Verizon ONT connected to the Verizon gateway via Ethernet. Then Verizon gateway coax > wall coax port and gateway LAN port to Google Wifi router. Then in another room I'm able to conect the MoCA adapter to the coax wall port and it works without issue. I'm able to connect my Google WiFi AP via Ethernet and it shows as "Wired" in the Home app.
I connected a 2nd MoCA adapter to a coax port in another room. I connected a 2nd Google WiFi AP. However, this AP will continue to show as wireless. And the Wifi speeds from this AP do not improve.
I tried disconnect the 3rd AP from power so only the 2 "wired" APs would be on the network. No difference. I also tried only connecting the 2nd AP to the MoCA adapter and disconnecting the 1st AP, this allowed the 2nd AP to show as "wired." If I reconnected the 1st AP via Ethernet, it would not change to "wired."
Basically, it seems like my issue is it's only allowing 1 AP to be wired. Is this a limitation of Google WiFi? Or is there a setting or config I need to change somewhere?
Thanks!
