Food/Drinks Why can't we ever have a Taco Bell? ðŸ˜
Please tell me there are other people who have lamented for years that every time we get a new fast food restaurant it's not a Taco Bell. Did we anger the fast food gods??
Do NOT mention Taco Time (unless derisively). I will have to push you down a flight of stairs covered in legos.

Taco Truck
We love going to the taco truck that’s in the parking lot of the Chevron in Uptown. I went by today and it was gone! Does anyone know where it went, or maybe it’s just out for service or something? It’s never moved in the past year we’ve been going there, hopeful to locate it again.

Stinkbug Swarm is crazy this year
galleryCurrently at war with an invasive stink bug swarm. I've found dish soap + water does well & nearly instantly kills them. Not great photos since these were from videos I was taking. But I estimate maybe thousands, or even tens of thousands.
Waiting on the exterminator. Anyone else dealing with this? Past few years I'd see maybe 20 all year.

Social Making friends?
I’m sure this has been asked before, but I’m going to give it a try.
My family and I moved to Gig Harbor about 3 years ago from the east coast. All our family are back east, and we don’t really have much of a community here besides one family in our neighborhood. People through our kid’s school have invited us over, but then it’s turned into an invite to a church and we don’t attend.
Does anyone have an advice for how you were able to meet people/make friends here in Gig Harbor? We have a small family of 3. Thanks I’m advance!

Question Magazines/Newsstands
Looking for a place in or around Gig Harbor that has a good selection of printed magazines. I know in this digital age they are not a popular choice however there must be a place that still exists.

Question Would you shop at a curated consignment pop-up?
I’m considering starting a small curated consignment pop-up potentially once a month and would love some honest feedback before I go too far with the idea.
The concept would be a 2-day pop-up shop featuring higher-quality, gently used women’s clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. Think more of a cute, organized boutique experience than a traditional thrift store.
I’d focus on brands like Lululemon, Alo, Vuori, Free People, Reformation, MOTHER, AGOLDE, Aritzia, etc., along with some higher-end/designer pieces from brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, YSL and similar brands when available. I’d also be open to great vintage designer pieces.
Inventory would be intentionally curated, with an emphasis on current styles, desirable brands and pieces in excellent condition.
The idea would be to hold the pop-up at a rented space and let people shop everything in person.
I’m very much in the research stage, so constructive criticism is welcome. I’d rather find out now what people actually want!
I’d love honest opinions:
Would you actually go to something like this?
What brands would you be most excited to see?
What price range would you expect for secondhand items?
Would you be interested in consigning your own nicer clothing, handbags or shoes?
Is there anything that would make you more or less likely to shop at a pop-up like this?

Adult Swim Lessons?
A bit embarrassed to say that I never learned how to swim growing up. After two incidences of nearly drowning, my parents forbade me to go near water again. We had a pool but it was on the shallow side. I want to learn proper technique now and hopefully use the skills to make this an activity throughout the week for exercise and reducing stress. I’ve looked online and a lot of the swim schools appear to only be for children. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Any current or former Peninsula boys basketball parents willing to share their experience?
I’m genuinely curious if there are any current or former parents of Peninsula boys basketball players who would be willing to share their experiences with the program.
I’m asking because I’ve had concerns about the culture surrounding the program and, more importantly, the way some of the players have been treated. From my own experience, I’ve seen behavior that I felt was intimidating and overly harsh toward kids. Whatever someone’s opinion of the coach may be, I think we can all agree that these are high school kids, and their emotional well being should matter just as much as basketball.
What concerns me most is the possibility that parents and players may be afraid to speak up because they’re worried about how it could affect their child. I know that was a concern for me.
I also have a hard time understanding why these concerns don’t seem to result in more scrutiny of the program. This isn’t about expecting a coach to be easy on kids or expecting every season to be a winning season. It’s about whether the environment is healthy and appropriate for student-athletes.
I’m not looking to attack anyone or start a witch hunt. I genuinely want to know if other parents or former players have experienced similar things, because if multiple families have concerns, I think that’s something the district should be willing to look at seriously.
If you’ve been involved with Peninsula boys basketball program currently or in the past I’d be interested in hearing your perspective.

Places to get furniture
Hi everyone my significant other and I will be moving to the area in November and I’m wondering where good places to buy furniture are. We are going to need basically everything (tables, side stands, dresser, chairs, etc.) anything you can possibly think, we’d like a new couch but just about everything else could be second hand. We’re looking for things that are reasonably priced and affordable nothing crazy expensive. It’s just the two of us so we don’t need anything too big. I’d appreciate any recommendations and any suggestions on things we may need but failed to remember thank you for all the help! :)

If you lost your wallet today in the parking lot of Fred Meyer…
Or if you know someone who did we turned it in to Customer Service.
We didn’t look inside but it was thick had a plastic sleeve with the driver’s license in the front of the wallet. If you show up and look like that person I’m sure you can get it back. :)
