My 8-year-old and I did a No Roads across Gateshead and Newcastle (28 km!)
My daughter Ada (8) is a massive Tom fan so a few weeks ago we had a go at our own No Roads, from the bottom of Gateshead to the top of Newcastle. About 28km, same rules as Tom's ones.
We lost platinum about 40 mins in which was completely my fault, I walked 26m down a lane trying to find a way round some brambles. Bit gutted but we carried on going for gold.
Highlights were a private yard where if the gate had been shut that was basically game over, getting locked in a pub courtyard (got out through the actual pub), a massive wall with her 5 year old brother, and a uni campus that was locked at both ends so the only way out was under the gate. Then the last 3km was a bit I added the night before and didn't check properly... turned out to be about 150m of brambles up to our chests.
Worst crossing was Park Lane at 47m so we just about scraped gold.
Filmed it all, its in two parts:

Ada's already asking when we can do another one so if anyone's got ideas let us know. Also happy to be told where we'd of failed under stricter rules haha
