The Button Bin/Tin

Post image

My mom was a sower and a good one (even tho her taste in fabric was, uhm, not in alignment with mine.) I loved all of the sewing doodads, but my fave was the button tin. The colors, the shapes and sizes, fascinated me. Her's was in a Danish butter cookie tin, and so many other ones I've seen are also in a cookie tin. Finding just the right one to fix your blouse or pants was a fun treasure hunt. I have a modest one of my own, and I think of my mom ever time I paw thru it.

Are you older than the U S Zip Code?

If you were born before July 1963, you’re older than the zip code. Another annoying fact for your kids and grandkids.

Commander Mike Metcalf, call sign “Viper”! I know that Tom Skeritt was an outstanding actor. IMO he was “Viper”! He nailed this part and TOPGUN would not be the same without him. Losing legends needs to take a break.

Mine had planets and said "Flat flip flies straight." About 1966.

Stole this off another site (thanks poster) but figured 1976 was in the prime of our years, just memories now.

Did anyone actually watch Buck Rogers for its thought provoking, innovative Sci-Fi writing?

This came out day after my 14th birthday. Very dated looking now but was a treat for me back then.

Bad Ronald is a 1974 American made-for-television horror thriller film directed by Buzz Kulik and starring Scott Jacoby, Pippa Scott, John Larch, Dabney Coleman and Kim Hunter. The screenplay was written by Andrew Peter Marin, based on the novel of the same title by Jack Vance. The film was ABC's Wednesday Movie of the Week on October 23, 1974

I think I learned more about tool use from this toy than many learn in a lifetime.

Years
Everybody knows
You gotta let 'em go
And they kinda roll by like tears
Just a measure of time
Playin' with your mind
Passin' you by those years

Look around
Up and down
They're nowhere to be found
Like the wind
My old friends
They come and go again

Don't look back in sorrow
Just hope you see tomorrow

Those years
Everybody knows
You gotta let 'em go
And they kinda roll by like tears
Just a measure of time
Playin' with your mind
Passin' you by those years

You and me
Came to be
We raised a family
When we're gone
They live on
To see what we won't see

Don't look back in sorrow
The children have tomorrow

Those years
Everybody knows
You gotta let 'em go
And they kinda roll by like tears
Just a measure of time
Playin' with your mind
Passin' you by those years

Everybody knows
You gotta let 'em go
And they kinda roll by like tears
Just a measure of time
Playin' with your mind
And passin' you by those years
Oh
