Feedback PixelDrone BETA: hide your soldier, aim your drone, survive the tide — Feedback welcome
Hi! I'm the creator of PixelDrone, a free pixel-art action game that you can play directly on Reddit.
You control two things at once: WASD or the arrow keys move your soldier, while the mouse aims and fires the drone. Get close to trees, cars or buildings to hide; firing reveals you, and cover can be destroyed. The tide rises and falls, so the island keeps changing.
Each match is you against seven bots: 10 minutes or 30 takedowns. Collect dropped dollars to upgrade movement, special weapons, diving, machine-gun stamina and hiding time. This is single-player, not online multiplayer.
Space jumps or dives; right-click or Q switches weapons. Touch controls use the left side for movement and the right side for the drone, with a landscape layout.
I'd love feedback on the separate soldier/drone controls, whether hiding feels clear, and the pace of the tide. I'm also checking intermittent blank loads in Reddit's webview, so please mention your device and browser if that happens.
Use the playable post below to try the beta. Thanks for taking a look!

Feedback Feedback: YAY my app game got approved!! Looking for feedback - FlipFates
Redditors toss. The Coin Decides. You deliver. Flip-Fates is a coin-toss commitment game. Pick something you keep putting off, put a fate on each side of a coin, and let the community toss it for you. Whatever the coin says, you do.
Hey everyone, firstly let maestart with YAYYY MY APP IS FINJALLY APPROVED _ AARGGGH - ahem.
I'm the person who made Flip-Fates, and I want to tell you why.
I struggle with getting things done. Some of that is plain procrastination, and some of it is my mental health. On a bad day even small things feel huge, and the usual advice ("make a plan", "find an accountability buddy") takes more energy than I have.
I wanted something that takes almost no effort to start. Reddit already has the hard part: people. Comments, upvotes, strangers cheering you on. So I built a game on top of that. You put two fates on a coin, the community tosses it for you, and you do whatever it lands on.
It also had the potential to be a fun way to hang out with a community, whether you need help deciding something or just want to toss a few coins for other people.
How it works
Open the Flip-Fates post pinned at the top and tap **Create Flip-Fates**.
Write one fate for Heads and one for Tails.
Pick how many tosses decide it (best of 3, up to best of 21) and how long it can sit quiet (5 minutes to 24 hours).
Tap Chance it! and your challenge goes up as your own post.
Everyone except you gets one toss. The server decides every toss, so nobody can rig it. The first side to win most of the tosses decides your fate. If it goes quiet, the coin finishes the rest by itself, so every challenge ends.
After tossing, people can Send love (a comment with a few kind words) or get a Reddit message when the coin decides.
How to set up a "need help" challenge
Here's the template I use:
- Heads: the thing you actually need to do. The one you've been putting off.
- Tails: a tiny version of it. So small you can't really fail.
| Heads | Tails |
|---|---|
| Clean my room (it's a mess) | Pick up 5 things off the floor today |
| Call my mom after missing her texts | Give her a missed call |
| Finish my homework, all of it | Call my mom and tell her I haven't done my homework |
The trick is that tails is rarely where it ends.
- You pick up 5 things off the floor, and you can honestly call it a day. Or you pick up a 6th and realise you've got the energy for more.
- You give your mom a missed call, hoping she doesn't pick up. Maybe she does, or calls straight back, and now you're talking.
- You call your mom and tell her the homework isn't done. You'd never do that on purpose, but that's the point: she'll probably help you, or push you to get on with it.
It's about putting yourself somewhere you can be egged on a little further than the point you set for yourself. Set your failure point so low that you want to do more. Try, and if you fail, fail small.
I don't expect this to be a perfect idea. That's why it's something we do together. Ask and ye shall receive. I believe in the power of a community, and I know a few kind messages can do wonders, because I've received them.
If you're reading this, you've already shown up. Congrats. Keep it going. And nobody's forcing you into a corner: you write both sides of the coin.
Please don't
- Don't spam anyone's DMs if they don't show up or don't finish. Leave a kind word in the comments and let them be.
- Don't put people down. Partial wins are wins. Trying is a win. Little wins matter more than they look.
- Yes, the truth can hurt, and it isn't always sweet. But there's a difference between using the truth to lift someone up and using it to knock them down. Be the first kind.
Keep the stakes SFW and harmless; the full rules are in the sidebar. And if you're going through something heavier than a messy room, please reach out to someone you trust, or find a free helpline at findahelpline.com.
