I really hope Rockstar takes financial realism seriously in GTA 6. One feature I’d love is a fully functioning tax system where Jason and Lucia have to file annual returns, report capital gains, calculate depreciation on stolen vehicles, and keep detailed records of all business expenses. Imagine having to set aside money for quarterly estimated tax payments, reconcile bank statements, track mileage, and decide whether to itemize deductions or take the standard deduction.
I’d also love a realistic IRS audit system where you receive notices in the mail and have to submit supporting documentation within 30 in-game days or face penalties and interest. Maybe you could hire a CPA, set up an LLC, manage payroll withholding, issue 1099s to accomplices, and file amended returns if you discover reporting errors.
You could even spend several real-time hours navigating a government website only to have your session expire right before submitting. I know everyone is excited about the shooting and driving mechanics, but personally I think a comprehensive tax compliance system would add hundreds of hours of meaningful gameplay.
