This highly acclaimed drama nabbed an Emmy award for Tommy Lee Jones.A 'European' version was released in movie theaters in Europe. That version is shorter than the NBC broadcast, and features more adult content(nudity and profanity) that was censored for broadcast television.

The Parent 'Hood (1995-1999)

Originally titled "Father Knows Nothing," the show represented Robert Townsend's desire to emulate what Bill Cosby was doing with "The Cosby Show" by bringing 1950s family values to a then-modern setting. I always thought the show's standouts were the children, from teens Kenny Blank and Reagan Gomez-Preston to the young Curtis Williams and Ashli Amari Adams. All four had amazing chemistry with Robert Townsend and Suzzanne Douglas.

It should be noted that Blank (Michael), who showed his musical talent on the show, became the series composer from the third to the fifth season. However, he was not asked to return to act for the last two seasons, and Tyrone Dorzell Burton took over as the troubled teen TK. The absence of Blank's character was only mentioned once, noting that he was attending college.

Miniseries Junior's Giants (Christian DvD exclusive/Home video series, 2005-2010) . . .

It was like a modernized ver. of David and Goliath where the series follows young protag Junior Anderson as he deals with everyday problems (like temptation, envy, fibbing etc etc etc), instead of fighting "literal physical giants" he conquers and battle's metaphorical giants (which are manifestations of said everyday problems) through his imagination (ever since he heard the bible story of David and Goliath during a sunday school session, once the teacher said to each student (icnluding JR.) that theyr'll be "giants for them to face" he took the "battling giants" thing quite literally, thinking he'd fight actual giants albeit the teacher saying it in a metaphorical sense) . . . .

I vaguely remember watching this on Nickelodeon, they called it a sneak preview but it was never on again. Turns out they moved it to noggin and I don't think I had digital cable at the time. Anyone else recall this one ?
