So I volunteer at a pet shelter with cats twice a week and on one of the days I’m there I’m usually working with a girl that’s there. One time while we were there she started helping me clean out a cat cage that was on the floor and wanted to use a small handheld broom to clean stuff like old food and litter out but I suggested to her that she could just use the big broom and sweep it all out on the floor so she wouldn’t have to bend all the way down into the cage and she was grateful for suggesting it and said that she loved me for it.

Another time I was helping sweep the floor around her and another person that was there and she jokingly said I think in what you would call is a flirty type voice said “my hero” when referring to me sweeping the floor for them. When we’re done cleaning everything she also usually stays around for a bit to give churu treats to 2 of the cats that have been there for a long time and open their cages to let them walk around and hangs out with them and recently she’s started letting me also help her give a churu treat to one of those cats instead of just doing it herself.

ME: how far away do you live? I need to make sure my bike can bring me home after
Her friend (replying to ME: no I just found an excuse to text you): yo??
ME: and if I bring u home via the bikelane it's easier
Her friend: anon chillax man she's taken
Girl: I live at ###, the bikelane doesn't go there though
Girl: Im single if u have a car tbh
ME (replying to ME: anon chillax man she's taken): it's alright I'm just being very friendly to my old friend

ME: I did some counting and I can only bring you home through Google maps but only if you're authentically single, as it would be wrong to do so if you're not

Girl: I'll give u 5 bucks for gas
ME: it's electric
ME: and it charges for 14 hours

ME: I'm not going to be stuck at your place for the whole day just to charge it
