no honestly, i saw this poster and was immediately transported back to cleaning out my aunt's musty attic and discovering her stash of romance novels with these exact covers

i have no idea if it'll be good or not, but i'm really pleased with the marketing

they clearly understand the appeal of this movie and aren't trying to package it as something it's not. it's refreshing to see a marketing campaign that knows exactly what it's selling and who

Fun fact, in the book publishing scene these cheap pulp books/book covers are called "neck biters" because it’s always a hot dude biting or kissing the neck of the woman, which is the person the female audience identifies with.

I ADORE it (biiiiig historical romance fan), but I do have a bone to pick with their marketing, because every ad I've seen so far calls it a "romantasy-inspired" and that *is* making me want to tear my hair out a little. This looks nothing like a romantasy cover!!! It looks exactly like an old historical romance cover!! Romantasy does not mean just "not contemporary!!!!!!" Words have meaning!!!!!!!

(I'm totally fine about this and not having a small crashout about it at all, obviously)
