PUBLISH MOI Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine recounts being attacked by dozens of Israeli settlers while she was capturing their attacks on Palestinian villagers. Other journalists at the scene recall IDF soldiers witnessing the attack and choosing not to intervene.

Of course it's terrorism, but they are allowed to do as they please in the West Bank.

They're so fucking young, I've seen videos of them doing processions and they're all young men. And then we talk about how Muslim kids will be radicalized.

How dare you suggest that murdering children and assaulting old women and running a global child sex trafficking honeypot scheme is bad! You must be anti-Semitic! /s
For real though, the most f'n antisemitic people are the Israelis who honestly think this is okay.

The western mainstream media will try to make this a “both sides” issue when it’s clearly not the case

I wonder if the Washington Post will even cover it. Seems like they were fine forgiving Jared and Trump for letting Khashoggi get killed.

I literally saw the longer video from NBC News. I honestly think you guys just don’t watch the news and that’s why that line gets repeated. The news is covering it, the news just doesn’t get ratings anymore.

I just saw the story on Fox News. No I’m not being sarcastic. Brett Baier just reported it.

No Hamas in the West Bank and Israeli's still terrorize the Palestinians. Seems like the oppressive ethnostate is the issue here all along.

The fact that Palestinians in the West Bank have to put up with violence like this from the Israeli settlers every single day is terrifying. Only If they retaliate will the IDF step in too.

Seriously so tired of this shit. We need Nuremberg 2 for both the Trump Regime and Netanyahu/IDF
37
u/FragrantBluejay8904 Marxmoi 12h ago
We need something harsher than Nuremberg. Barely anyone was prosecuted and so many Nazis were brought into the US by operation paperclip
14
u/Schmoo88 12h ago
Or fled to Argentina! Nuremberg didn’t work like people think it did so we need to learn from the mistakes that happened there.

This is appalling and terrifying (to say the very least)!!!
There is more info about the attack on Heidi Levine and additional reporting about the continued “settler” attacks on journalists (which have increased in both frequency and violence in 2026) here (at the Committee to Protect Journalists): https://cpj.org/2026/10/american-photojournalist-heidi-levine-attacked-by-israeli-settlers-in-west-bank/

I remember thinking there had to be some tipping point/line they could cross that would force legacy media and the government as a whole to change it's stance. It was nice being naive like that. In a sane world this would be the lead story everywhere and something that would cause such an outrage that there would be no choice but to do something about it. Of course in a sane world this would have happened about 3 years ago.

In 1967 during the Six Day War, Israel attacked a US Navy intelligence gathering ship in the Sinai Peninsula, the USS Liberty, killing 34 crew and wounding 171. The attack by multiple air and sea craft lasted over 20 minutes; afterwards Israel insisted it was a mistake, that they thought it was an Egyptian navy ship. Many people from surviving crew to the literal Chairman of the Joint Chiefs did not believe them and accused LBJ of aiding in a coverup, but they were waved off.
If any other country had done that, even if it had truly been a mistake, that line would have been crossed 60 years ago from the perspective of the US government. But we've spent so long making excuses and protecting them from so much egregiousness, that it feels like they could truly do anything and be forgiven by the West.
A new book has just come out called Crossing the Red Line, documenting through extensive interviews the truth of what the Biden administration knew, when they knew it, and what they covered up. I'm waiting for my copy to arrive, but in the meantime I watched an interview with the author, journalist Akbar Shahid Ahmed, and I'm telling you, it has permanently and fundamentally shifted my perspective on the Biden admin. I mean we all saw it even then, the meanly-mouthed excuses, but it's so, so much worse than even we could see. Up until now, I was willing to acknowledge their positive domestic policy and economic actions alongside the visible callousness towards Gaza, but now I feel a genuine moral injury at trying to balance those two perspectives. It also made me so much angrier at Kamala Harris for refusing to publicly break with Biden on Gaza, because it sounds like behind the scenes she had a very different perspective (which I think is something I had hoped, during her campaign, but could not at the time back up with evidence).
12
u/Typingperson1 11h ago
The Biden admin could have stopped Israel back in 2023. Instead Biden, his Zionist crew, and Congress facilitated the genocide, sending the bombs and providing diplomatic cover.
They lied over and over about working on a ceasefire while in reality they were allowing Israel to run amok with zero accountability -- setting the stage for Trump's so-called Board of Peace and ongoing genocide.
16
u/hellohexapus 10h ago
Absolutely. State Department staff apparently tried repeatedly to communicate to the admin that Israel was in violation of the Leahy Laws which definitionally should have been a hard stop to any military support including weapons sales/provision. Not only were they ignored, they were apparently discouraged from putting their objections in writing.
When the reporter said that bit I remembered the State Department staffer who quit, I'm sorry I cannot for the life of me remember his name but he released a very clear open letter explaining his objection to continued weapons provision. At the time I thought it was just ("just") his personal internal convictions, but putting two and two together now...

u/TheSpaghetti 10h ago
To add on to this point, Biden throughout his career has openly stated “Were there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interest in the region.”
Democrat or Republican, America has a vested interest in maintaining Israel in a way explicitly antithetical to Palestinian liberation. It’s a geopolitical stronghold for them to control the MENA region. The problem is beyond voting the right party in. The problem is how America and its economy is set up. I would highly recommend this article to read a bit more https://theconversation.com/biden-says-the-u-s-would-have-to-invent-an-israel-if-it-didnt-exist-why-210172

The tall guy with the press flak jacket on is Jasper Nathaniel (Infinte jaz substack), another journalist that has been covering the West Bank land theft that has been going on for the past couple of years. He posted video of him running up to Heidi and getting her out of there. She couldn't really run after what she had been through so she had to be carried out by Palestinian villagers. The IDF was there teargassing throughout the entire episode and they are clearly there protecting the Israeli land thieves. These journalists and Palestinians are all hero's and are risking their lives to get the story out and try to stop this illegal land grab.

I stopped calling them settlers and prefer to call them what they truly are: terrorists.
I think the term 'settlers' dampens what their real goals are: terrorizing the Palestinians and taking their land.
