POLITICS WAVY News 10 reporter Chris Horne insists Robert F. Kennedy Jr. address measles after a Trump administration staffer interrupts his questions to say they're not talking about measles: "He's the highest-ranking health official in the country. He can answer that question. He's a Cabinet Secretary."

I don't think it works in English because it uses A-B-C, but some languages allow for a pun-retort that would be structured like this:
"(A) is speaking with (B). (U) stay out of this."

I’m more surprised the handlers allowed him, is the thing; when they start spinning up their “we’re not talking about X” shit, they really mean it.
God almighty, no wonder; I thought he was going to 🐸 , dude - I’d call in a threat to keep him from speaking (‘speaking’?), too
(I am not exaggerating; that was insane and insanely painful to listen to. Plus the stinger at the end. Yeah, I screamed lol)

For the past year and a half they can say whatever fool thing comes into their mind and no one can hold them to account. I'd bet that the only reason the aide tried to shut him up was because of the upcoming election.

I wonder if part of it was because now he’s saying not enough people got vaccinated - certainly does not fit the party line 😬
9
u/ElectronicTip6386 9h ago
This is to shift blame to globally unvaccinated dirty poor people who do need vaccinations because raw milk isn't available there or whatever (blame shifted to other governments/countries/economic development you know, bigotry!).
His position: Others should take their shots so a few privileged nuts in the US don't have to. This is flawed on too many levels to list.
But the biggie is that global population shuffling means that every child needs it. USAID defunding fits in here too but that's why he included "covid era" to shift blame back in time, too.
They suck.

Well, globally, there are many outbreaks of measles. Those outbreaks just so happen to be clustered around communities that have shunned vaccines, because there just happens to be many such communities around the world, thanks in no small part to RFK Jr.

RFK is in large part responsible for 83 deaths in Samoa in 2019 for a measles outbreak following antivax campaigns he ran there.

But 80% to 90% of Americans will believe him, because if there’s one thing Americans are certain of, it’s this: “We’re better than the rest of the world.” The current propaganda in the US is no longer necessarily “America is Great.” Instead, the message is that things might be bad here, but they’re worse everywhere else.
So if the US has a measles problem, the average American’s natural assumption is that the rest of the world must have an even worse measles problem.
The fact that Americans know absolutely nothing about the rest of the world (except what they’re told through propaganda) and don’t want to know anything either doesn’t help matters.
46
u/SynonymousSprocket i ain’t reading all that, free palestine 15h ago
Ok, I’m gonna push back on 80-90% of Americans.
We’re dumb, but we’re not ALL that dumb.

10
u/archmage-khadgar 13h ago
yeah, come on. at the absolute most it's like 30% of americans that support these idiots, and i would wager it's now closer to 20% since they've spent the last year fucking up constantly. even some of their own base is starting to think they're dumb
and i say this directly after getting into an argument with my maga father who thinks universal healthcare "doesn't work anywhere" despite us being the only first world country left without it
4
u/ilir_kycb 11h ago
Yes, and I wasn’t talking about support. I was talking about the belief of Americans in their own superiority.
Both conservative and liberal Americans believe in this superiority of the United States. Most Americans can’t imagine that any other country could do something better than the US.

I'd say I'm on the harsher side of cynicism towards me fellow Americans but, dude... 80% minimum? The country isn't quite as stupid as we like to joke. It's more like 20-40% (may) believe him, or any of the other MAGA sock puppets. Fortunately, its gotten so bad that a large portion of even the most stubborn MAGA minded are questioning, if not outright calling BS on the constant barrage of lies, BS, fabrications, and grandeur from the RFKs, Kegsbreaths, and Trumps are spouting.
- 49.6 % of adults have at least an AA (Associates, 2 yr degree) or higher.
- Not all intelligent people go on to get higher education.
- 22% of the population, 29% of adults, and 49% of voters voted for MAGA
- Among voters;
- Highest education attained_ Trump (R)___Harris (D)
- High school diploma or less___ 59%____ 39%
- Some college, no bachelor's__ 54%____ 45%
- Bachelor's degree__________ 46%____ 51%
- Postgraduate degree________ 33%____ 65%
- Our Democracy is under attack by the 0.1% and their takeover of communication channels. The dumber ones tend to vote R and smarter tend to vote D... it's a correlation, not a rule
- There's plenty of dumb people that see through MAGA BS and lies
- There's plenty of smart people who voted for MAGA for selfish, stupid, and/or bigoted reasons
- There's a lot of evidence that tampering with the elections did happen...
- ...but not the way Trump would disingenuous have us believe
Our problem is media. We're being manipulated in ways most of us couldn't begin to imagine - we're just now beginning to peel back the curtain (e.g. Yandex's relationship to far-right discourse).

Sadly, measles is making a bit of a comeback now. I looked it up, and in fact it is worldwide. CDC lists the top 10 countries with outbreaks, and the US isn’t one of them. More interesting to me, though, is all 10 of the countries, with the possible exception of South Africa, are Third World countries or developing countries, however you want to put it. In other words, countries that can’t afford or don’t want to afford vaccinating people. Bangladesh “leads” with 65,439 cases in 2026, while there have been 4,410 cases this year in the US. The problem is that we can afford to vaccinate everyone, but knuckle draggers have devalued vaccinations so people mistrust them.

This is the most confusing part of the entire exchange to me. Is his defence now that those who refused vaccines during the COVID pandemic are the reason why we are seeing a measles outbreak? I definitely think a follow up question/s is merited not only on his seemingly abrupt about-face on vaccines but what link to COVID pandemic vaccines is he trying to make here. ( Note I find him and his historic anti-vaxx stance dangerous and reprehensible)
4
u/magneticdream 12h ago
The connection I make is that the mixed messaging and suspicion around the new Covid vax made anti-vaxxers more empowered/numerous. I don’t think it’s a coincidence we are having vaccine preventable illnesses in early childhood educational centers 6 years after the pandemic shitshow.

And as easy as it is to say things like you did or emphasize how he sounds like a frail elderly person, the following are just a couple better "no fucking way would I take health advice from a man who:"
- has no formal medical training/background
- actively promoted vaccine misinformation/helped found an anti vaccine group
- actively promoted public-health conspiracy theories
- was a 14 year heroin addict
- used to snort cocaine off toilet seats
- fired the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and replaced them with his antivax buddies
- discusses people with autism as though they are only the most extreme cases instead of a wide spectrum
- in his current role tried to force nonexistent findings that vaccines cause autism
- in his current role tried to tie one of the few main relief options available to pregnant women (Tylenol/acetaminophen) to autism
- under his own admission in court had a worm that ate part of his brain, and has short and long term memory issues
Please keep in mind about his horrible self, without going into all the rest of the terribleness that is him, just those related to his current role, that he is currently 12th in the line of presidential succession.

I live in a third world country and even we don't have one because we are serious about getting vaccinated!

And these jabrones cry about censorship and cancel culture but here they are cancelling important information about public health.

So.... In order to qualify for a position in the Trump Administration, you have to demonstrate that you know absolutely nothing about the position you're applying for.

I've heard it's also helpful to promise that once you get the job as a cabinet secretary you will purge anyone from the department who has experience and actually knows what they're doing, then systematically dismantle it piece by piece until it exists in name only.
It's a "yes/no" question on the application directly below "Did Trump win the 2020 election?" followed by "Sleepy Joe Biden and the corrupt Dumb-o-crats". No question mark, just a statement you have to answer in the affirmative to move on.

Bless this reporter for pushing back on this. Absolute bat shit fuckery going on right now with outbreaks because of antivaxx idiots.

I worked with this guy!!! Chris Horne is truly such an incredible reporter and he really does care so much about his community.
I left the news because I feel like the industry is dying somewhat, but Chris was part of the reason I joined in the first place. He goes out of his way to give a voice to the voiceless even when our news director would give him shit.
So glad to see him continuing to do what is right and use his platform and voice for good

He’s blaming this on Covid? We’re going to pretend he had no part in people not vaccinating their kids?
6
u/ecuayork 16h ago
Good for him. Thats how reporters have to to their job, ask the tough questions and hold them accountable to their horrible policies

u/robotwithatinyneck 15h ago
Wait is his response that people were unvaccinated during Covid? Isn’t that a 180 of their usual BS?
5
u/bomilk19 15h ago
It’s always the local reporters who hold these people to account. The national “journalists” are too scared to ask real questions.

u/_tragicmike 15h ago
Wait. "The measles outbreak is occurring because so many people went unvaccinated during the COVID pandemic."
So RFK Jr. is pro vaccines now? Or is autism better than death? 👀🙄🤡
Note, I'm not saying there's a link between autism and vaccines. I'm just turning around his specious reasoning.

The venom in his voice when he says "he's the highest ranking health official in the country" is the only appropriate tone to take with these demons.

Oh right!! People didn’t get vaccinated during Covid for Measles and That’s the reason why we are having all these deaths and outbreaks!

I guess I've never heard rfk Jr speak. This country is being taken apart by old rotting flesh, that can't even speak. We need age restrictions throughout the whole government and third party cognitive tests done on all these fuckers.

Jen Kiggans has let down her constituents at every turn so her chilling with this freak is unsurprising. Vote Luria, Virginia!!
