Needed a change. Always do my own hair.
I henna my hair, but bleached out some and did some highlights yesterday. Been thinking about it for awhile and really like the way it turned out. :)

Will it get better? I got them last Tuesday. They are not tape ins I believe they’re sew ins and it’s driving me up the wall. I just want to rip them out. I did let my hairdresser know and we’re gonna have an appt Tuesday to see what we can do but at this point I just want to take them out completely I feel like I’m being tortured. I’m also frustrated because they didn’t really tell me the upkeep of curling them etc so now I can just tell where my hair ends and extensions begin so I’m frustrated with that too. Thanks all

I have very fine thin hair and my box colors have deposited so deeply that it looks as if it's black now. That makes it difficult to cover the roots because it just keeps building up. I had scheduled an appointment with a hairdresser to strip the color and to recolor it but she got sick and canceled the appointment and I'm anxious to do something. I don't know when she'll be well again so I'm going to take on this task at home. Any recommendations on the best products to use and how soon I can color it after I strip?

After being absolutely dragged for my last hair refresh, I'm back with my latest cut and colour, with s new stylist, since the other one was judged guilty of overcharging by reddit and after I looked into it, yes she was a bit pricey for what I got (let's not even talk about the bleach burns she gave me the last time i was there).
I'm a fan, the layers are super choppy and have a lot of movement and the dark tips make me very happy.

I dyed my hair yesterday using Wella 3N followed by toner recommended by Sally's employee. I covered the gray roots but it's way too dark and washes me out. Should I just wash it a few times and hope it fades or try Dawn or color oops? Please help! Products used shown. Pic 3 is results and pic 4 is goal color.

I was wondering if there’s anyway I can get my hair from basically black to a more neutral brown color? For some background I like to dye my hair and got it professionally done. I had dark brown ion dye in my hair already and she made it a blue color. I didn’t like it and used color oops vivid to get it out which was basically just bleach but it worked and I put brown over it after. It faded into a nice light ish brown but I wanted my hair to be like a pink brown blond streak the other day and I didn’t use any color remover so my ends didn’t lift very well but I put pink over it anyways. I didn’t like it and just ended up putting dark brown over it all with permanent ion again. My issue with ion is that everytime without a doubt it gets to basically black because it’s so dark and I’ve never used any other natural color hair dye before so that’s just what I’ve always used however I really didn’t want it this dark and I really want it lighter without putting too much further damage on my hair. Thankfully it’s still pretty healthy because I’ve been using bonds and hair masks but I have no idea what to do 😭

Just got it done today at a salon. It only looks like this when pulled up like this, so idk if I can put it in a high hairstyle. She color removed my pink, slowly and carefully sectioned my hair and saturated my hair with dye, and then it looks fine when all of it is down, full brown. but idk maybe I’m overthinking? Maybe it’s like my unintentional pink hair still wanting to be a part of me? But idk, wat do u guys think?

I really want a deep vampy red but Manic Panic is the only brand I’ve seen have those shades. If you’ve used it before what’s your experience with fading and bleeding (wet and dry hair)? Trying to figure out if the color is worth it

Hi all,
I recently purchased my first-ever human hair silk-top topper after dealing with hair loss, but I’ve been having some problems with it. I’m unsure whether the hair is Remy, if that makes a difference.
Essentially, I can barely get a brush through it, even with copious amounts of detangler and hair oil. Immediately after detangling, the hair catches and tangles again when I run my fingers through it. I’m losing quite a bit of hair each day just trying to detangle it, which gives me so much anxiety!
Ironically, my Temu clip-in extensions that I’ve had for two years seem to be better quality (😭). The piece was advertised as being in excellent condition, so I'm a little disappointed because it looks lovely otherwise.
Anyone experienced with alternative hair have any advice?

Used revlon black hair dye to dye my previously brown hair black and need to return it to brown how do I do this

I started with a cooler blue-purple and its fading into more of a teal-blue. Could I add purple to my current colour, or will it make it look not-so-great?
Thanks in advance 😊💜

I’ve had my hair bleached 4 times during the past 4 months with the same hairdresser and the result is always the same looking like this. I’m thinking of doing something myself to change it, but I’m not sure how.
The top of my head is very light, while my mid lengths are that brownish/orange (I’m not sure) and I’m genuinely embarrassed whenever I leave my house looking like this.
Do I bleach the sections that still look dark or tone it? I have never done bleaching myself, and I’m hoping to get some help from people online because it seems like my local hairdressers do not seem to understand what I want nor how to do it. If someone can please help or guide me I’d really appreciate it.

Hello everyone. To start with, I have a mild case of seborrheic dermatitis, which might explain why my scalp stings and feels slightly burned whenever I get my hair dyed. I use regular hair dye containing ammonia; ironically, when I tried ammonia-free versions, my hair became extremely dry.
I don’t experience any significant issues once my hair is washed—no redness or lingering itchiness. However, I’m wondering if I should look into different types of hair dye, or if this is a relatively common occurrence for those with sensitive skin.

I rebleached this week and managed one of my best lifts ever (level 9!) so I decided to try a rainbow prism color for the first time. I'm so happy with how it turned out! Took about two hours to apply the color and then left it on for 90 minutes.
Most colors are IroIro unless noted otherwise! Rainbow: red, neon orange, yellow (with some Ion Brilliance lemon), green (plus a little neon green), blue (plus neon blue), one n'only midnight blue, purple
Base: one n'only blood orange mixed with IroIro pastel rose gold and some red at the base.
First two pictures are after blow drying, then I styled it - which do you like better?

I know Wella and I think Igora have their special series in both lines with have permanent options in blue and green to customize the tones of their other dyes. I'm wanting to transition back to a rich, blue, almost black color soon and want to use a brand where I can have the option to add more blue pigment. I used to use just the Age beautiful color in 3B but it seems to have changed as my swatch of a new tube just came out as a very cool toned black without as much of the blue tones as it used to give me (it was subtly blue black in dim lighting but had more in natural and bright light)
I have natural level 7/8 hair so prelightening isn't necessary for me, I can just use permanent color for the "almost black" blue I want.

Wella Color Touch 6 volume lifts my very fine dense hair and was wondering if switching to 5 volume would solve this? Or is it basically the same thing?
People will say it doesn't lift but after leaving it on for over 2 hours just at the back, it does and it's bright in real life. I can't do it faster. I tried to give it some air and to keep it away from my scalp but it didn't help for my root blend. I'm a natural level 7. My 8/81 mix didn't cover my last lifted band from CT so now it's double the band with the new one. I understand now I need to drop it and probably use 7/89 in my formula but it will still keep lifting and my band will keep getting bigger lol. Anyway that's not my question.
Will 5 volume help?
I tried rinsing it half way through and it's just such a pain to avoid getting the water and color not into the the top section of my hair. 5 hours is long enough to hold up the bathroom. I don't want to add another hour. I will probably have to next time.
Shrug.

I've never dyed my hair before, but I wanted to so I went out and got the Ion Permanent Hair Dye Creme and their Sensitive Scalp 20V developer, and the patch test itched a little so I immediately washed it off. Is this normal? I googled it and said even a slight itch is an allergy. So. My hair is black so not even henna or demi-permanent dyes will do much. What can I do?
BTW I'm pretty sure it's a developer allergy since I did patch test the L'Oreal Casting Creme once and it was kinda itchy then too. Didn't dye my hair that time though since I accidentally mixed the whole box for the one patch test and I didn't feel like going out to get another box.

Me now, second picture was me before. I wanted a more natural ginger colour with some artificial brightness, not this red colour. Will it fade to a ginger?

Heyheyy, so I'm planning to do foxtail style coloring on my hair, but I haven't been able to find that many references or tutorials on curly hair. I haven't bleached or colored my hair.
I'm probably gonna use manic panic vampire red on my ends and manic panic raven (black) on the very tips (so it would look from roots to ends, my own brown color to red (ends) fading to black (tips))
Does anyone know if this will be easy to do at home or is it better to let a professional do it? And any tips or tutorials you have for doing this are very very welcome!
