Sky SC Trails in the Sky 2nd: Best U-Material+ Grinding, 60 per 30 minutes. Spoiler
youtu.beFull Disclosure: This method is only viable when you reach near the end of Chapter 5, the beginning of Chapter 6 and in Chapter 8. It's not available in other chapters.
I learnt that the end game Quartz in the final chapter cost a LOT of U-Material+s so I figured I'd try to grind them out in Chapter 8.
At first I tried to use the usual monster caves but they were super inconsistent and it was rare to find enemies with U-Material+ their drop rate also tended to be pretty low.
Luckily there are a lot of these monsters in the Ancient Dragon's Lair in Bose. The best spot ends up being the cave right next to the boss room where a bunch of them are gathered.
Defeating them is simple with Agate and using his S Crafts, with Lone Blade, Ember Blade and Serendipity. (Only thing to watch out for are the exploding flakes).
Generally this gives between 3 to 5 U-Materials and 1 or 2 U-Material+s within about 30 minutes I easily made around 71 in total counting converted U-Materials.
One run takes around 40 seconds to 1 minute, you can reset the monsters by leaving back to Bose and coming back via fast travel.
This is at least outside the final chapter the best location for grinding U-Material before entering the end game, though I haven't heard of any faster locations in the final dungeon.
If you want to soup up your party early into the final chapter this is a great way to prepare, honestly even 1 hour of grinding is more than enough (roughly 120 to 150 U-Material+).

Horizon I gravitate towards peak. Spoiler
These 3 girls's character designs are too good. That Calvardian water is a different breed from the Crossbellan water.
If the water from Crossbell makes you more...If you know you know. Then the water from Calvard gives everyone drip and makes them beautiful and cool. And this applies to every character, male and female.
Imagine the kind of drip Lloyd would have. No more wearing a police jacket that clearly says CSPD, while doing a quest that requires Lloyd to disguise himself as a civilian. A mafia guy looking at the jacket: "CSPD...Oh it must mean Crossbell Sauna Park Dentist or something."

Sky SC A small detail I like in the remake. Spoiler
While you cant see it fully in the image, the small metal plate on Estelle's sleeve reads "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

Trails series Me at the end of Cold steel 4, IMO this series peaked at Cold steel 3 and 4 tbh.
Horizon Just finished Horizon.
After discovering Trails with FC remake in december 2025, i finally finished horizon and i am now up to date with the series. I'm honestly kinda feeling "empty" knowing that i gotta wait for the next trails game to be announced. But still, i find it wild that, for me at least, not a single one of these games are "bad". Sure, daybreak 2 is far from being the best trails game ever made, but i still enjoyed most of it. I could go on and on about each games and ranking them, but since tier lists aren't authorized i'll refrain from that. The only thing left to do is to wait for kai 2! (or 3rd remake 😄)

Trails series Just finished my first Trails game. I'll be one of yours
Just finished 1st chapter.
The whole ending sequence was fucking bananas and left me in awe. I'm immediately buying the next part. I'll add this franchise to the list "endless unprompted rants".
That is all.

Horizon Lapis question (Reverie/Horizon potential spoilers) Spoiler
“I never once doubted who I am.” This quote in this connection event confused me.
Am I crazy or like… wasn’t doubting who she is like, half the plot of Reverie? Like that whole scene where C has to reaffirm her existence in that sea of fake Lapis dolls was really memorable and emotional, and that whole storyline was about her own existential crisis. Did she not doubt who she was then? I dunno, just seems like a weird thing for her to say.

Zero When is the next sale?
I just beat the sky trilogy and I want to keep going so bad. I have cold steel 1-4 because I saw them on sale more than Zero and Azure. When is the next major sale?

Ys series Ys recommendations?
Hey guys,
I’m all caught up with Trails, now with all of you in the Horizon 2 waiting room…
I started Nayuta a while back but it’s kind of a slog, maybe I’ll pick it back up, but meanwhile I’m bored.
I remember I started playing a Ys game, not sure which one, a looong time ago but didn’t quite gel with it. I have my trust in Falcom and your recommendations, so which Ys games would you recommend? Are they standalone or a big story like Trails?
I own a Switch 2 and PS5, no PC at the moment. I also don’t mind old graphics and mechanics is the story is good enough.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: thanks for all your comments! I really have to say that this fandom rocks.
I’ll check out a few of these soon and see what seems to be the best choice for me.

Sky the 3rd Sky the 3rd nightmare compared to the recent remakes?
I assume 3rd is harder than both, but how much harder? Is nightmare right for me, or will it make me cry? Thanks in advance for your help.
My Trails nightmare experience:
FC original (struggled at times but beat it)
SC original (absolutely brutal throughout, made it all the way to "that fight" at the end somehow but couldn't beat him)
1st remake (beat it, easiest of those I played)
2nd remake (just beat it tonight and cleared "that fight", the best balanced of the games I mentioned? Loved it)
Cold Steel 1 (Made it to somewhere in chapter 4 a long time ago, don't remember much but I think my biggest struggle to that point was the very first boss)

Not really many human characters with gangly proportions so here's one of the more annoying archaisms.

Trails series Tarot and Trails Enforcers Day 12: The Hanged Man Spoiler
Day twelve, and we have one of the most interesting cards to discuss in terms of both Tarot and the potential Enforcer No. XII. People often worry about the Hanged Man in readings, since its presence seems foreboding, but it's a deeply nuanced card and gives a lot of potential insight into who our mystery enforcer is. All we know is she's a female martial artist, and she's at least loosely associated with the Emperor, Enforcer No IV.
Let's start with the Hanged Man itself, this card represents sacrificing one's time to attain enlightenment. The Hanged Man is forced into his position to benefit everyone, and he accepts this willingly, with an almost spiritual contentment. This arcana is usually a sign that someone should hold off on a certain course of action, they should cease certain behaviours until they attain the wisdom to guide their actions. Sometimes, the best way to win is to do nothing at all, and the Hanged Man highlights this.
Though, we should also consider the other side of the card. The reversed Hanged Man represents waiting too long, stagnating, and a wasted time investment. In this position, instead of waiting further, the card urges you to act. Waiting can help to attain enlightenment, but true enlightenment is to know when to stop hanging around. Which side does our enforcer match? Well, it's hard to tell, but we can make an educated guess, and address some misconceptions while we do so.
The name 'Enforcer' conjures the idea of law enforcement, the enforcement of order, so on. Except, that's a translation. The Enforcer's Japanese title is closer to 'Legion'. A name that also conjures military imagery, but is more vague about the direction. I say this, because it's important to remember that not all Enforcers are front line powerhouses, they just need to have some form of power, and power takes many shapes. Sharon and Joshua are stealth specialists, Bleublanc and Campanella are far more powerful out of battle than in it, and Ulrika's power is purely in her charm ability. Enforcers need to offer something to Ouroboros, but it doesn't need to be muscle... So what if it's just the potential of muscle?
I theorise that the Hanged Man will be a martial artist that, for one reason or another, mostly abstains from using her true power. Perhaps she harmed someone she didn't mean to, maybe she's reached a stage where there's no point since none can match her technique, maybe she just doesn't feel like it, but I think we're going to meet No. XII in the reversed position. As someone who's waited far too long to unleash their strength again, until she's tested for real. This would gel pretty well with the "unmotivated" Hierophant, two people who hold power but lack the reason to use it. It would also explain why someone like Walter doesn't really mention her, since why would he care about a fighter who doesn't fight?
I know what you're thinking, in that case, what does the Hanged Man offer? I think her chief responsibility at this point is to get the Hierophant to actually act, with the understanding that, when she finds an opponent that interests her, she'll actually take action and turn to the upright position. Perhaps... The head of the Kunlun school thought deceased? Maybe his secret pupil? We haven't got much to go off when guessing her style, but I wouldn't assume she's linked to Taito, since we know most of the practitioners and the school's inactive, so that only leaves two Calvardian options. Unless she has a different form of martial arts entirely. It'd make sense since we haven't heard of any super-strong female Gekka practitioners, and Kunlun seems to just be Bergard and his pupils at this stage, and we know them too.
Ultimately, I think the Hanged Man is probably going to be introduced alongside the Hierophant in Kai 2, so the speculation won't last long. Let's enjoy the random guessing while we still can. I think Yume's the Hanged Man, why not? It'd make me laugh, and that's the most important thing.

for those going from the Sky remakes to the Crossbell arc, what are the roughest QOL adjustments?
for reference I'm 50 and have been playing video games since the Atari 2600. But BECAUSE I'm an old ass man who played games before there was a pause button I've come to really appreciate all of the various quality of life features more recent video games have tended to include (auto save, inventory management etc.). So much so that I sometimes rankle at the rough edges of older games now. I'm definitely not patient enough to wait for a remake of the Crossbell games though, so tell me what's the worst quality of life type stuff I'll be facing with the most recent edition which includes both games.

Trails series It'd be cool if the next protagonist was a journalist Spoiler
Think about it, journalists have been an important part of the series from the beginning with Nial and Dorothee to the present day with Dingo and Marielle, so why not let us play as one for the final(?) arc?
Story-wise, people in the profession have always been involved so it'd make total sense for our MC to know a thing or two, or be a newbie and let the profession naturally involve them in whatever is going on in Zemuria at the time (e.g Marielle). The totally-not-first-anguis Marcel Nielsen is also a journalist and famous in-universe so that could be an interesting plot point. Since journalists usually work solo or in pairs maybe it'd make sense to have a deuteragonist situation like Joshua with Estelle. Other party members could be people we meet in each location we visit, or simply coworkers from other papers/magazines (though I have no idea how you'd explain so many normal people having fighting capabilities, but I digress). My point is that there's a lot of potential for a good story with the MC as a journalist.
Gameplay-wise, it could work very well with story quests and side quests; maybe the director of whatever paper/magazine we write for could give us assignments each day, or we could get side quests through the hearsay mechanic introduced in DB2/Kai (I don't remember exactly). Since we're always fishing for scoops, traveling a lot would be normal and an easy way to progress the story.
I think it's a pretty fun topic to speculate about.
