FLVS Full Time vs Flex

Hi everyone,

What is the difference between full time and flex? Which benefits more? Is there a certain start time during the day for full time and how long does school typical last for the day? With flex, are there live classes and is there teach support?

My husband and I work from home and we are looking into both options for our kids. We want flexibility but also structure.

Question regarding taking US History EOC this winter

I am currently enrolled in APUSH but I haven’t finished the class. Im feeling confident enough on the material to take the US History EOC this winter. My question is, could I take the EOC even if I didn’t finish the class? Im feeling pretty confident and I wouldn’t mind taking it even if I didn’t finish the class. This spring would be incredibly busy for me and it would be challenging to dedicate time to prepare. Has anyone here taken the EOC without finishing the class? I would appreciate it if you could let me know!

Graduation/affidavit

If I’m planning on attending a community college then transferring, is it beneficial to finish all core classes? I’ve taken core classes up to a 10th grade level and am currently in the 11th grade classes. It was not my choice to do online I do not do a good job and I can’t switch back to in person because my classes are all messed up and I’d be behind. I really want to start at the local community college but I don’t want to dual enroll incase I leave my house before I finish it and I’m left without a diploma. Is it worth it to finish my current classes then just get the affidavit signed so I can eventually start at a community college.

Is this happening to flvs users?

So I was just working on my Spanish 2 exam, and when I tried to submit it it said error submitting and then assessment locked. But then I went back to the grade book thing, it was graded. This also JUST happened with my English assignment. How do I fixed this because its making me scared like every time.

If I pass APUSH exam, do I need to take the US History EOC?

Just wanted to confirm this. I am planning to transfer into full time from FLVS flex and I’ve already completed my English, Algebra 1, Biology, and Geometry EOCs. I also may take the APUSH exam next spring. I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know if I could simply take the APUSH exam, pass it and then not have to complete the EOC.

Thank you!

I'm trying to get into VSA and it's saying there's maintenance, and now it's giving me a runtime error, I asked my friend who also does flvs if they were able to get in and they said yeah, is anyone else having this problem or is it just me???

Getting flagged/accused of using ai is so discouraging

I LITERALLY DUMB DOWN THE VOCAB 😭, like, what more do they want us to do? At this point I’m going to screen record everything I do, or I’m going to just give up. What do you guys do before submitting an assignment? I’ve been with FLVS since covid… Why would I start cheating suddenly? My writing style has remained the same throughout the years. I hate this, mind you…I’m not even a good writer. My English teacher is nice, they’re just doing their job…but this sucks. I don’t even want to imagine what REAL (skilled) writers feel like dumbing their work.

Regular School to FLVS Full Time

for anyone whos switched, how was it? did you get more time compared to brick and mortar or would you say its about the same?

for context im a jr currently and on track to be done with all my credits this year. currently taking 4 flex classes which will fulfill all my reqs besides personal finance which im gonna take after im done with a few of those ones.

i really want more time in my schedule to get more ec's done, which is why im considering full time but my primary concern is whether i'll have to start planning around weird hours due to live lessons ect. at least with regular school its all in one block but im unsure of how full time works in all.

ive pretty much taken as much ap & aice classes as possible so im ok with rigour and forcing myself to do work id say

tysm for anyone who shares their experience!!

Applying to college is so confusing

I'm a flex student, and I want to start applying to colleges. But I feel like they will think my application is fake because I'm homeschooled and have a 4.0.

I don't know what to do to make it seem legit. I already have my official transcript that my mom made, but Google told me I should request official FLVS transcripts from Parchment, but I thought that was only for full-time students.

Does Parchment make my transcripts? I don't know; I'm just so confused and have like 3 days to figure this all out.
Any help would be appreciated.

requirements to graduate

I am in FLVS flex, I was wondering what I need to graduate by homeschool, if there's any specific requirements or if it's the same as the traditional high schools? Also do you have to like communicate to the FLVS counselors what diploma type you'd like to pursue? Thank you :)

Flvs full time question

Okay so I've been doing FLVS Full time but I didn't know my mom didn't set it up correctly the first time so now we're setting me up properly with a principal so I'm able to actually officially pass HS (yay!
So, so far I'm on the right track basically, sorry if this is a dumb question but my mom told me that I have to speak with the principal and basically do a "DBA" with her to see where I'm at and what classes I still need. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm really bad at answering on the spot ((I always do DBAs with my notes) and my memory is kinda bad, will I be questioned about every class I took so far? I'm a little confused. Any help would be appreciated!

Desmos on Assignments

I know there are probably a lot of posts regarding this, but are we ACTUALLY allowed to use a Desmos graphing calculator on assignments and DBAs? I'm in Algebra 2 if that helps.

I'm not asking how to cheat or if they can see my others tabs btw...

Wished there was a way to add people in live lessons

I’ve met cool people through these live lessons like the ones I’ve been in a lot with. I wish there was a way to keep in contact after the class is completed but like don’t want to seem weird. Like I would talk with them while answering questions and go into live lessons together. But there’s no way to actually keep in touch but of course it’s not what it’s for so.

Procrastination issue

I do flvs full time, and I struggle with procrastination. Atleast I think so. My father is quite strict on me with school, as he threatens to take my school computer and look through it to see if I did anything. At first i was affected, but even after numerous plans, i still cant get myself to do my work. I am getting tested for adhd and autism soon, so perhaps that would be the problem. Does anyone else have this issue and if you do, what do you use for motivation to get your work done? I cant keep struggling like this, and its affectijg me horribly.

FLVS is having an outage

Is anyone else having trouble accessing FLVS right now? The website went down while I was taking a quiz, and I haven't been able to log back in since. I'm getting an HTTP ERROR 500 when trying to access the site.

Here are the Downdetector reports:

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I'm trying to knock out my science credit as soon as possible and I don't want a super hard class, but it has to be honors and I've already taken environmental science honors and marine science honors

Intermediate Programming V. Foundations of Programming (Can someone skip Foundations of Programming?)

So there aren't any prerequisites for Intermediate Programming in FLVS, and I've heard that Foundations of Programming is pretty easy and quick to finish. I'm pretty decent at self-teaching myself, and I have some minimal coding experience from a middle school class using Game Lab in Code.org. Do you think it'd be possible for me to skip straight to Intermediate Programming? How hard is it?

Thanks.

HS Spanish in the summer

I am looking to have my current 8th grade take High School Spanish in the summer of 2027, once he finishes 8th grade. Can anyone share the process they had to go through to register? The only thing I was told is that it has to be after he finishes 8th grade. Has anyone finished the entire course in one summer? I plan to have him work on a set schedule to get it done, but want to be sure that's doable. I appreciate the info so I can plan ahead.

EOC Help

Im hoping to switch from flex to fulltime for my second semester of my senior year, and am ensuring I meet hte requirements prior to applying this upcoming block. I already meet the requirements regarding core courses, im just finishing up two electives to hit that 18 mark before to apply as an incoming senior hoping for the second semester (Yes I know i need to finish 21 total credits before the december break and I am working towards that) but is there some discrepancies I need to know, because I never took an EOC Before because I used to go abroad most of the time and am coming back to Florida just for this semester if I get accepted, so I wanna confirm everything I need to have done by that point and hopefully ill be fine.

Im a homeschool student so it has a weird policy regarding homeschool students saying something like "Homeschoolers without eoc's may get some sort of screener assesment or smth," but the thing is.

I got 3/3 Math credits (hopefully will have finished first seg precalc) You need 4 total in HS
I got 3.5/3 English Credits (I finished the first seg of english 4 early) You need 4 total in HS
I got 3/3 Science Credits (I did that a while ago) You need 3 total in HS
I got 2/3 History Credits done (I hopefully will have gov or ap gov finished by then) you need 3 in highschool total but I plan to take AP micro or macro once I get to full time

Hope is complete = 1 elective

Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 Seg 1 are complete (will complete seg 2 soon before full time)

Havent done money management but I wanna do it before full time so ill probs sign up monday

And I think I got about 16 elective credits but am about to take two mod exams so 16.5 in a few hours and 17 total by monday, with me finishing 19.5 credits by monday the 26th (I have to make up some courses, and they are mostly just electives rn, and im going decently fast) so don't mind that

And I got a concordant SAT score to satisfy Algebra 1 EOC, ELA fast, and SUPPOSEDLY the Geometry EOC as my consuleor said that the Geometry EOC was made just as a way for students who failed the Algebra 1 eoc to satify that requirement so you can graduate.

can anyone tell me if I need smth else
