Discussion Met Ben Starr

Kept forgetting to post, but i got to meet Ben Starr at FanX a couple weeks back and got my full size Invictus signed. He is such a kind and genuine guy. Went around and greeted everyone in line when he got there and even let us take selfie when we'd only had money for the autograph.

Question About Leviathan DPS check

Hi just a quick question because I spent quite some time trying to beat it...

Yes, I will learn my rotations and ensure I'm not hit (up until now it really didn't matter, I know), but am I not supposed to get enough time for 3 spitflares?

I'm always half a second behind: the cooldown resets literally as soon as the tsunami animation starts, and it's the first time a cast as soon as control is given back to me after retrying.

Now, I might be underleveled (51, first playthrough) and with the wrong accessories (I have cooldown reduction items, not dmg enhancements), but I did not see items affecting ifreet cooldowns.

Where's my error?

Discussion Eikon Abilities

Post image
7 Upvotes

So I don't know if this will count as spoilers since I wont be talking about a particular moment but am simply referencing it for this discussion topic (hence why the flair is discussion and not spoiler since its not about the spoiler), either way when I do talk about the references I will spoil cover it just in case it is considered to be "spoiler".

This is also your spoiler warning, so proceed at your own caution.

Anyways, discussion time.

So I've been looking through the Eikon Abilities and thought "wouldn't it be cool if we had Shadow Clive's Ifirit Abilities?"

I revisited the fight and had to drag it out to determine how many abilities he had and prune out the ones that could be considered abilities like what we see on the Abilities screen, and others that were just unique attacks. Just for Info: I split the attacks he did into three categories Eikon Abilities, Eikon Feat and Eikon Ultimate (these are the ones where you get the special camera angles), similar to what we already have.

Ifirit Ability Circle

-Eikon Feat
Molten Thrust/Crimson Rush (MT: thrust forward dealing damage to targets along its path/CR: same thing as MT but with a longer path) (This could just be replaced by the already existing ability Ignition)

-Eikon Abilities

Eruption (an explosion erupts under the locked-on or nearest target, three times with a two second interval)

Incinerate (Charge Up, deals damage in a cone in front of Clive. If critically charged (that is released in the red of the charge circle) small targets are launched into the air)

Hammer and Anvil (Appears above the target and slams into the ground, causing an area of effect damage)

-Eikon Ultimate

Hellfire (a pillar of fire engulfs Clive as spouts of fire erupt at enemy locations)

Other ability of note: when fighting Shadow Clive he will launch multiple magic missiles at the player. While this itself does not warrant an Eikon Ability slot on its own I would have liked for it to be the "mastered" version of the Charged Magic Ability where base is standard Fire and shoots one bolt, Fira is upgraded and fires a bigger bolt that explodes on impact damaging nearby targets as well and Firga being the mastered version that shoots out three bolts that do what Fira does.

I think these abilities would be fun to use and be a cool mirror of Phoenix who would be a more technical Eikon with their abilities like Heatwave being able to redirect range attacks back to their attacker, Rising Flames being able to launch small enemies into the air and Scarlet Cyclone being able to cancel Clive being staggered by enemy basic attacks, with Ifirit's abilities being more aggressive and focused on crowd control, of course in order to make the two Eikon feats different Phoenix Shift and this new Ignition should have their properties swapped with Phoenix Shift being able to send you wherever you go based on your directional input (in game, while you are in combat Phoenix Shift will always send you to the locked-on enemy or the nearest enemy while out of combat you can shift in whatever direction you input) that way it can help with this new Phoenix's technical aspect, while Ignition will always send you to the locked-on/nearest enemy that way it helps to solidify Ifirit's more aggressive aspect.

So what do you all think about this?

Question Eikon Upgrade Ability Points

So some weeks back I had saved up over 3,000 ability points to upgrade Flames of Rebirth twice.

I had already invested points the first time earlier in the game and it was over 1000 points for the next upgrade. Naturally I wanted to at least have enough points to upgrade enough to where I could master it.

I had over 3,000 points saved up and before completing the Apodytary mission, I decided to bite the bullet and put down 1,000 of the 3,000 points I saved up.

The problem however is that when I did that, it took nearly all 3,000 of my point leaving me with over 9 or 800 left.

Is this a bug or something? Because the math isn't mathing.

Spoilers This might be a hot take Spoiler

I'm sorry but I just don't buy theromance between Clive and Jill. They seem more like siblings than people who are in love and it just so much reminds me of Iris and Barry from the CW Flash show. They were raised together and it just seems weird that they've become a couple by the end of the game (I haven't done the final mission yet or DLC)
