ME or EE with min 2-5 years of experience - I’d like to pick your brain..

MEP engineers candidates with recent work history of min 2-5 years is the sweet spot for companies and recruiters. Curious – do you engage with LinkedIn, or job boards? My husband is a mechanical PE himself, and he has zero social media, no engagement on LinkedIn, I’m barely Texas text messages. Classic engineer, and I love him so much for it. 😆

He and I have created a boutique firm where I have direct and professional relationships with clients, and my husband - PE with over 15 yr experience - vets candidates for technical requirements, educates our clients on market standards and salary expectations (we are NOT order takers, and I have “fired” many clients due to their fantasy expectations.), we prepare you for interviews - not just regarding technical skills, but also prepping you on the team dynamic of the client, personality, buzz words they want to hear, why candidates didn’t work out in the past, etc. —- all the ins and outs to get an offer…

We’re not a volume staffing firm. Need to have a conversation with you to determine where you want to be in five years, 10 years, etc. - so that I can match you up with one of my clients that is the best fit for both.

THAT is where I am looking for some help.. just like my husband, ya’ll MEP engineers are very elusive… not much publicly available data, so is the best way to get in touch reaching out to your company email, then taking it off-line to your personal? Or is there a forum or place engineers post their resumes. Thanks so much 🙏

Engineering internship

I am a 3/4th year mechatronics engineering student in Canada and I was wondering if anyone on this subreddit would be able to connect me with anyone they know who can help refer me for an engineering internship. I am open to anywhere and any term period even if it's getting a headstart on positions that aren't available yet. I have been applying and cold messaging people on LinkedIn for the past year but unfortunately I have yet to land anything. I did a 4-month mechanical internship a few years ago but unfortunately that company is gone, so I have mostly been working part-time since then. I would be more than happy to provide my resume.

[Job Search / Guidance] 2.5 YOE MEP Procurement & ELV Engineer looking to relocate overseas (Gulf, AUS/NZ, Japan, EU)

Hi everyone, I’m a 25-year-old engineer with 2.5 years of experience at a major Indian construction company (joined as a GET in 2024). My core expertise spans ELV Site Execution (BMS, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Networking) and MEP Procurement Engineering (RFQ management, vendor negotiation, BOQ reconciliation, and material supply chain). I’m now actively seeking roles abroad—specifically in the Gulf region (UAE/KSA), or countries like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Luxembourg.

I'd really appreciate any guidance, referrals, or direct advice from those who made a similar move early in their career. What job portals, recruiters, or strategic approaches work best for international roles at my experience level? Also, are there specific certifications or target contractors (like Al-Futtaim, Voltas Overseas, etc.) I should prioritize right now? Thanks in advance!

AECOM NYC Transportation Department – Internship

I’m an electrical engineering student considering an internship with AECOM’s NYC Transportation Department next summer. Since it’s my last summer before graduation, I’m trying to choose a company where I’d have a good chance of getting a full-time offer afterward. Does anyone know how often AECOM hires its interns full-time, especially in the NYC office? I’d also love to hear about the work-life balance, typical hours, hybrid schedule, and whether overtime is paid. How’s the job security? Are layoffs common when projects slow down?

Hey everyone, I'm a recruiter looking for a Firmware Embedded Systems Engineer for a new opportunity with a manufacturing company in Lake Zurich, Illinois. I'm seeking a hands-on engineer with professional embedded C firmware, microcontroller programming, and hardware troubleshooting experience, ideally supporting electronic products in a manufacturing environment. Experience with 8-bit MCUs, SPI/I2C/UART, Python test automation, or industrial sensors is a plus; ISO 9001/QMS is preferred, not required. If you are interested, feel free to message me directly. I will gladly take any referrals you send my way. Any suggestions on where to find these candidates if not in this thread?
