Discussions & Stories Why do entry level jobs keep asking for experience? How are you supposed to get experience if nobody wants to hire you without it?

I am genuinely trying to understand this. I keep coming across jobs labeled entry level that ask for minimum 2 years of experience knowledge of several tools and previous industry experience. If someone already has all that how are they still considered entry level? Is this just how hiring works now or am I missing something? Anyone here who is facing this?

I Need Advice: Workplace Issues What excuse should I use to ask HR for experience letter

I want to apply for erasmus and few other scholarships and it requires experience letter. However idk how to ask for one from my HR without looking suspicious

  1. I can’t directly say that I need it for scholarship. My company prohibits working part time or doing masters and these days they’re laying off people and can use any excuse to fire you so I don’t want to risk it considering my chances for scholarship are really low and I also don’t want my company to think im applying to other places either.
  2. My company outsourced me to another company for few months, I have mentioned it on my CV but I don’t know if they will reflect that on the experience letter. If I get a generic experience letter it might not match my CV.

I Need Advice: Job Search Has anyone ever been stood up by a job?

I want to know this because I have had video call appointments (that I generally find sketchy anyway) and some of them have stood me up or never even had the decency to cancel or reschedule. I have even had two in person appointments with a company and they either seemed shocked that they had an interviewee coming or just seemed completely unprepared altogether. And some of these jobs seem like scams. It's one of the reasons I hate using indeed or linked in.

Discussions & Stories Why does it feel like companies expect you to know everything from day one ?

If feels like more companies expect new hires to know everything from day one instead of being willing to train them . I have seen the some jobs stay open for months while companies keep looking for someone who checks every box even when good candidates are available . At some point it makes more sense to hire someone with the right basics and help them learn the rest . I have also started focusing more on explaining my actual experience and value clearly instead of trying to match every requirement on the job posting .

Discussions & Stories [CA] Arbitration clause in employment agreement

Is this reasonable/legal as part of the arbitration clause in CA? Does this mean if they file arbitration I also need to pay?

...The parties expressly acknowledge and agree that they are hereby waiving any rights to trial by jury. The parties agree that each side will equally be responsible for payment of any forum costs of any arbitration hereunder, including the Arbitrator’s fee, to the extent not prohibited by applicable federal or state law. The parties further agree that in any proceeding to enforce the terms of this letter, each side will pay for his or her own attorneys’ fees and costs, to the extent allowed by applicable federal or state law.....
