I have been trying to find an apartment in Easthampton or Northampton. I've mostly been working with RentNoho, but I'm so sick of dealing with them. I got approved for 2 places through RentNoho but then they just ghosted me when I asked for a lease. Been calling texting and emailing them for weeks with no response since that day.

I try those websites like apartments dot com or zillow but it's always inaccurate pricing/availability, wait-list, or big apartments way out of my budget (I only want 1br or studio)

Now in our 4th year, Easthampton Porchfest is back + bigger than ever this Saturday October 3rd from 12-5pm. 66x bands will be playing 25 porches, backyards, and driveways in 4 distinct Easthampton neighborhoods.

So come out + meet some neighbors while listening to some local musicians (many of whom are also your neighbors)!

Porchfest is a free, ticket-less event supported by the Easthampton Cultural Council + the Mass Cultural Council.

Just find a band on the schedule you want to see + drop by.

My partner got me a gift certificate there a couple years ago and I used one of five sessions but life got busy and I did not use the rest. It looks like they closed. Does anyone know if they moved somewhere else? Or if they had any kind of policy on what happened to packages that were unused when they closed?

Hey all! I DJ for LGBTQIA+ events in both MA and CT and wanted to share this one.

If y'all are looking for some good food, drink and performances totally check this one out!

It's $35 but they are currently running a $20 presale through Eventbrite.

Does anyone know what folks who don’t have any provided parking spaces are supposed to do during snow bans? My landlord doesnt provide any sort of parking, the street is no go, and recent changes mean a bank lot I was told would be available is no longer. Are there free or even paid overnight lots that are usable for those of us without parking? Any help would be appreciated.

This morning there are dooooozens of slips on windshields around town warning people not to park on the street November-April. But I feel like as long as it wasn’t snowing I parked on the street all last winter and never had an issue! Obvi want to do the right thing but - Who got these and what do we do now? Do we think it’s okay to park tonight? Or like until it’s actually going to snow? :)

Title. I know Easthampton has changed a lot over the last 20 years, especially around the downtown area. I'm curious what is it like in the huge neighborhood south of town -- older residents? younger families? progressive or traditional? lively or dead streets? Not asking to judge here just trying to get a feel for the area.

What’s been in the spot where Mission Taco is now? I have a vague memory of there having been a different Mexican place, then it being vacant for a while. What before that?

I’m not a snob about very many things, but I am a snob about espresso. Mainly because when it’s bad, it’s BAD.

I’m surprised at how difficult it can be to find coffee places that consistently have good espresso in the area. I can think of 5 places total that I can honestly say I have never had a BAD espresso. And I’m not talking “a little acidic”, I mean B.A.D.

So all this to say, the 2-3 espressos I’ve had at the Marigold Cafe have been perfect. So I’ll add it to my list of maybe 6 places, that I can say consistently have decent espresso.

Again, I’m a snob about this, but I bet this is useful information to at least one person.

In case you were clueless like myself.

(Salem won for mayor)

There was just some kind of loud alarm (beeps) followed by a verbal warning that I couldn’t make out. Wasn’t sure if it was a neighbor’s alarm or some kind of town warning system? Between Williston and Park near Brookside Cemetery.

i'm in the middle of my ballot research (very late i know) and came across this quote from a candidate in this article: https://www.wamc.org/news/2025-02-21/easthampton-reaffirms-its-welcoming-community-ordinance

this position isn't mentioned anywhere on her website that i can find, but i think it's important for people to know that one of our candidates sees some members of our community as "illegal", especially since ICE has already been in easthampton

What the hell, y’all. If these are the final results, what is happening to our community? JT got way too many votes and now we’ll have a boring “experience” guy which will lead to stagnation. I hope all the progress and improvement that’s been happening in this city doesn’t die…

I put this on the Facebook group page but my neighbor encouraged me to post it here as well. We are less than two weeks away from a mayor election where Easthampton's ranked choice voting system is likely to play a very important role. I was on the charter review committee that recommended the adoption of ranked choice voting, and I served on the committee that helped to implement it after the voters approved of it. Does anyone have any questions about ranked choice voting, and how it applies to this election? If so, a bunch of other people probably have the same question, so please ask and I'll try to help.
