He plays fetch with it! But often he'll come back without the twist tie and just stare at me

Lol! My SIC Zoey does the same thing with the laser pointer. She'll stare at it then me and back and forth until I pick it up

You should buy some pipe cleaners!! My cat LOVE pipe cleaners. Green pipe cleaners. But you can buy any color haha.

Oh yeah that could work well! I have been trying to transition him into something bigger though, we'll be getting a dog at some point and I don't want the dog to eat some of the small toys

Here to second this! Rubber bands, twist ties, etc are fun for cats but not fun for their digestive systems.

Right? $1.50 for like a hundred, endless hours of entertainment. Why do I spend money on cat toys again that sit there unused??
Also zip ties. Don't underestimate the erratic movement of a good zip tie. My kitty becomes a lunatic for them.

Our cats love twist ties too! I'm always having to make sure they don't steal when I'm getting bread.

My cats from when I was a kid would love to play with the plastic strip you would take off a frozen juice can, their eye would look like this lol
