I loved playing this game a few years back, and one of my favorite things to do back then was to play as Julianna and go on the hunt. It was fun to try out different weapon combinations to see what might help take down Colt a bit easier

I recently went back into it, but every time I've tried playing as Julianna, the lag and rubberbanding made it literally unplayable. Trying to jump a wall and shoot at Colt resulted in me seeing the climbing animation 4 or 5 times before getting blasted away.

I know the game runs on player to player connections, and that my lag is because of their connection and whatnot. But now that it's been a few years, I have to ask: has there been any sort of community fix whatsoever? Mods to pick your invasions, or dedicated servers, or something that would make it possible for me to enjoy being Julianna again? Thank you

Hello kind strangers, anyone willing to help me with the multiplayer trophy?

Juli kept blasting and slashing but I couldn't die.

I was holding a nullifier when Juli slashed me from behind and then none of the action keys worked but I could still move and turn slowly at a snails pace.

Anyone have this happen? What triggered it? Juli might have thought I was using a cheat but I wasn't.

Im wanting to replay the game, reinstalled it and ive hit wall after wall, its crashed multiple time in the menus but worst is the audio, its not choppy, it just isnt there. I can hear all of colts movements but nothing else. Full audio cuts back in for maybe a second or 2 every now and then but other than that there's nothing. Anyone got a fix?

Anybody else run into this problem before? I was in the middle of hacking it when Juli found me and so. sent her packing. When I went back to finish hacking it nothing was happening. I know this game is glitchy af but this seemed different. Lots of background noises like someone trying to tune a radio, which I’ve never noticed before. Can a hackamajig be jammed somehow?

I played the bioshock and dishonored games so I had an idea of what kind of games this team makes. Actually really loved the aesthetic and the world this game is in. Really gave me rapture vibes. The game play however was too punitive. I ended up dropping it after the first “level”. This is a game that could use an easy mode or maybe a vita
Chamber like bioshock . I understand the loop is the game but the get killed and traverse the whole world again and again mechanic is pretty brutal.

Finally beat Deathloop after all these years of it being on my shelf and I gotta say, you invaders are something else. I was consistently getting invaded my entire playthrough and now that I'm achievement hunting I still get Julianna's who drop by and turn a casual run into a sweaty 1v1. I love the way you guys shake things up in ways no AI can, from Julie's who bum rush me, to ones who set up the most devious traps imaginable, to the one's who are clearly lagging out of their mind, I give my respect to you.

I really wish I had been around when the game first released to experience this mayhem even more.

Sometimes I don't get a match for days. could there really be nobody online? I kind of doubt it but maybe the game is dead.

What's next?

I am planning to try to create more multiplayer mods for Deathloop. I will look into how to make host trust the client, disable reconciliation (rubber-banding).
Besides the host and invader roles, there's also a traces of "Guest" role in game code. Something like another player joining your game to play as another Colt? I want to investigate it further and restore this functionality if possible.

I need help though.

Multiplayer mods cannot be tested or developed by a single person. I need other people to test the things I create. Contact me if you are a PC player who can assist me somewhere between 10:00 and 20:00 MSK.
Another way to support my work is through money. I used paid AI subscription to create this mod. Chat GPT is well suited for reverse engineering, a boring and repetitive task in my opinion. I would greatly appreciate if funded my work through Boosty (a Patreon analogue) account I just created.

Would it be ethical if I host some public games on them, for random invaders? There are some people who would like to try invading these illegal maps, but they are on other platforms, so I cannot add them to my steam friend list (859424129), to host some private games.

Me personally, I would be delighted to randomly stumble on something like this when invading, but I am sure that some people would find it morally wrong to use any kinds of mods in public spaces or something. Am I worrying to much?

Edit: I see mostly positive reaction to the idea, so I will be hosting and streaming some games at 16:00 MSK. I will also start working on proper mod manager for DEATHLOOP, so I could share it with others.
