This subreddit is for the appreciation of the genre, not the game. Head over to r/cyberpunkgame if you’ve arrived here by mistake, thanks.

I'm on my first visit to Japan, and this is crazy... Mind you, I'm form a 1.5 million city, I have have travelled to Singapore and Shanghai before, but Japan is a new level.... I feel like I just got off the bus from a small town in the middle of nowhere.
A department store inside a mall which is actually a train station. But you can walk three blocks underground to another department stores inside a different mall. Then checking on your hotel, at the 18th floor of another building. ("your room is on the 25th floor, breakfast at 7.00, please visit the Observatory on floor 42").
A yet, once you get to street level, there are narrow alleys with power cables dangling, restaurants and light sights. And a among that, a temple.
And I have only been in Osaka and Nagoya, I'm yet to visit Tokyo!
Edit. thanks for the answers, seems I have to go to Hong Kong, then...

I liked this aesthetic, so I made a game. I've been working on it for months, and now it's joining Next Fest. I hope the mix of terminal, Matrix and space trilogy vibes will be successful.
The game is about using terminal commands to control robots across a ship, hacking into it and repairing it to save the crew members who are in cryosleep. While doing that, you also have to race against time and against the ship's security system.
Anyway, I hope you like it! If you have any ideas, like a mechanic you'd love to see or something that sucks and needs to change, tell me. I'd really like to hear your feedback.

I’m in the early stages of organizing a book club focused on cyberpunk literature, and I’d like to get a sense of how much interest there is. This would be an in-person club based in Chicago.
I’m currently scouting venues, and the event space will want an estimated headcount, so a rough number would help a lot.
If you’d like to join, or just want to follow along as plans come together, details are here: https://bookclubs.com/cyberpunk-reading-group-cprg/join/

So I know of cyberpunk horror films like Hardware, Split Second, Death Machine, etc, and video games. I love cyberpunk literature but I can't think of any cyberpunk horror novels. Anyone got any good recommendations?

Firstly thanks to this community
When I was starting out and asking a bunch of you to Beta Read my first book.
I did not think I'd end up with a Bestseller.
Some of you did multiple books and I found my eventual proof reader and ongoing collaborators here
You guys are the best

Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a geopolitical techno-thriller world-building concept and wanted to get some feedback from people who actually understand cyber-warfare and macroeconomics.
The core premise: A brilliant developer fakes his death and deploys an apex quantum AI named "Zero-Sum". Instead of a massive, loud cyber-attack on banks, this AI operates on quantum frequencies, seeing High-Frequency Trading (HFT) buy orders 7 nanoseconds before Wall Street servers process them. It buys them ahead of the funds, and sells them right back to them exactly one cent/fraction of a cent more expensive.
Over years, it accumulates billions, completely unnoticed by traditional audits. The protagonist uses these drained funds to build an autonomous, tech-driven unrecognized state in the Sahel desert ("New Eden"), providing free water, solar grids, and high-tech agriculture to millions, fully bypassing the IMF and central banks.
When the elites realize what's happening and try to deploy PMCs/military force, the protagonist issues a counter-ultimatim: if they strike, the AI protocol instantly wipes/deletes every personal loan, mortgage, and debt of ordinary citizens worldwide from commercial bank databases.
Does this feel like a plausible evolution of financial cyber-warfare in our current AI/Web3 era, or is it too far-fetched? I wanted to escape the classic "hacker in a hoodie breaks into the Pentagon" trope and show a real systemic displacement.
(The full fictional chronicle and the journalist's logs are pinned on my profile bio if anyone wants to read the actual execution, but I'm mainly curious about the technical plausibility of sub-cent siphoning at that scale).
What do you think?

I love cyberpunk aesthetics and premises — I wouldn't be subscribed to this channel if I didn't.
The problem is I usually read literary fiction. I don't really know any high-quality modern post-2010 cyberpunk-ish SF.
It's not hard to find the staples of the genre. They are everywhere. But who is out there at the modern frontier of cyberpunk-ish SF?
As for classics, I'm afraid I don't like "Neuromancer" — for some reason, I don't find it interesting. I tried "Cryptonomicon" and absolutely loved it. I also love everything I've read by Dick (I know it's not cyberpunk; I'm just giving a hint of what I like).
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I mean published after 2010.

imagine a technology that lets people sell individual memories in exchange for money. someone might sell the memory of a holiday, their first kiss, or a few minutes of an ordinary day.
wealthy people could buy experiences they've never had, while desperate people might sell pieces of their own past to cover rent
the strange part is that the buyer wouldn't just be watching a recording. they'd experience something that feels like a part of another person's life
would this fit better in a cyberpunk story about exploitation, identity, or the commodification of human experience?

Witchpunk - no narration, no Gen AI, 33 actors in season one, - we got all the cyberpunk, the drama, the angry combat witches, the past-it gunman, the searching pilot, the hacker in over her head, dodgy cargo, orbital assault AIs, Big Corp, - did we mention hardcore combat priests? - action scenes galore, great characters - we just need your ears.
Season one is six episodes and is the first act of a three season/act story. Season two is currently in production. Free to listen to and ad free as well.

Hi everyone,
I made a post a while back about my book, The Crater. The best way to describe it is Wool meets Cyberpunk.
I have 25 audiobook keys for both US and UK that gives you the free Audible.
Only requirement is to share your goodreads/Audible review profile and either US/UK in the comments. If you prefer not to share publicly just ask me to DM you for it.
A review is not required to get the key for free, but I just want to share how it is important for debut authors to get a honest reviews so we can continue to make stories like this.
If you want to read the blurb, learn more about other books I’m writing in a connected universe, or support an indie author: free advanced copies of other works and preorders for ebooks/audiobooks (physical coming on release date) are available now on my website

Here is a sneak peak of the opening to chapter 7 of my cyberpunk webcomic.
I do not use Ai to make this, this all done digitally by me.
