Last year, I learned how to crochet for my 2-year anniversary with my girlfriend and made a cute little pumpkin. It was really challenging, but I had a lot of fun (and frustration) learning. I'm wondering if anybody could create a pattern for me to follow or if there's just a good one you know online for her gerbil, Sidney, who died of an infection recently. I would like to make it by Christmas.

I just thought this would be a good place to put this idea. I see all the children that you see on the television with cancer at the Danny Kay place that treats childhood cancer patients- can’t think of the name of it of course- but what about making hats like little curly pigtail curls all over the hat to make it look like they had hair you know just curly or even straight crocheted hair onto a small hat. The commercial with the little girl in the princess dresses, it just breaks my heart. Something soft like a crocheted or knitted hat with curly cute hair falling down would be just the right thing for her to wear with her princess dresses.

It's from a paid pattern, which I'll provide. I'm looking for a monochrome black and grey color scheme with the possibility of a few hints of white where appropriate. The split design of the cap isn't necessary as long as it makes sense.

The deadline is mid-November and I have a rough budget of $100-$120, but open to opinion since the fiber arts are foreign to me.

Hey everyone. I honestly debated posting this because I feel a little awkward asking, but today is my 23rd birthday and things have been pretty rough lately. I’m currently deep into grad school, completely unemployed, and living on a budget that leaves zero room for extras. To top it all off, I lost my sweet baby cat a few months ago, and the house has felt so empty ever since. I see all the amazing posts on here and wondered if there is anyone out there with some spare yarn and time who might be willing to do something kind. I know custom pet replicas usually cost a lot, which I completely respect and understand since it takes so much skill and labor! But I figured it doesn't hurt to ask if any generous soul might want to practice their pet replicas or happen to have an extra little mini crochet lying around that they wouldn't mind mailing to a lonely student. Because I have zero money right now, I unfortunately can't cover shipping costs, but I would be endlessly grateful if anyone was in a position to gift even just a tiny emotional support potato or a little bumblebee. It would genuinely make my entire month.
