Discussion š is just as experimental and beautiful as āColoraturaā
Iāve seen quite a few people who said āYeah Moon Music is better overall but no song there is as beautiful as Coloratura.ā I genuinely think they missed this. If you donāt know already this is very different than other emoji titled songs on Music of The Spheres. The instrumentals before the lyrics start reminds me of Twisted Logic and itās beautiful. I feel like this one is not talked enough.

Discussion Your thoughts on X&Y
The album is considered the last of the three first albums that had the same feeling. The "trilogy" is my favourite era of Coldplay as i listen to a lot of ambient music (like radiohead) and the album is in my top 10 over all albums. I like the more expansive synth and the electronic guitar parts. I cant compare it to parachutes or a rush of blood to the head, because they are my two favourite albums.

Question What is the lore behind the Live 2012 Reprises?
These are songs from the album Mylo Xyloto, but remixed by Jon Hopkins to play as background music in Live 2012 during interview parts. They've been uploaded without any background disturbance and heard they are in FLAC too. But I never found out how people found this. Was this something Jon Hopkins himself released?

Genuinely one of the best Coldplay tracks and one of their more experimental one as well imo

Discussion Who else would like Will, Guy or Jonny to sing lead again?
The only times I recall that happening are Don't Panic and Death Will Never Conquer (and Us Against the World) live, and The Goldrush.
I know Jonny doesn't like singing, so maybe not him, but I think there's room for vocal variety. A voice can give a new personality to a song (for example, The Goldrush), so why not?
Especially because, at least for me, Chris's singing style became a bit monotonous in recent times.

Discussion coldplay wasted potential
hey, this is my first post on reddit and ive been lurking in this sub for a while, and i wanted to put in my two cents about the band's early work (i, like most ppl here am not the biggest fan of post viva la vida, but some stuff is still quite okay). it sucks that songs like no more keeping my feet on the ground, 1.36, chinese sleep chant, etc, all individually explore a slightly different type of sound than their usual and it's awesome in my opinion, yet they never make anything of a similar genre later. it wouldve been so cool to have coldplay implement some chinese sleep chant-style ambient tracks on MOTS. quite tangential but thats all š

Discussion My next first time full listen for A Head Full of Dreams is this week!!
Ghosts Stories is obviously such a sensitive and tender and introspective and retrospective time for Chris and Coldplay in general, I had an absolutely stirring moment with that one, but, the story is not over. I really can't wait to dive into this one. Yes, I know this is now not the Coldplay you all grew up to like they veered off in a completely different direction with these later works, but this feels like it will be an absolute fun and enjoyable album.
I know only two songs on this record "A Head Full of Dreams" and "Adventure of a Lifetime," and the rest is a goose egg of unknown songs, so thrilled to get to know more music from them I still don't know why I waited to be a serious listener of Coldplay I've resonated even just hearing on the radio and in passing while out in about when I was just a young child. They've been such a great inspiration to me to pursue and take on my own life in music, I'm so thankful to know about them, I'd love to hear what this album has meant to you and yes how has Coldplay been important to your life as well!

Discussion Not listening to Coldplay till they announce the new album/tour
I am used to listening to Coldplay during my daily commute, so I figured this could be a good idea (or a really bad idea š) and I could explore new music.
I just hope they announce it before November. I genuinely don't think I'll even get past a week. Anyone else wants to join me? Or am I alone on this one š?

Discussion Thoughts on Ghost Stories: Heartbreak isn't always a bad thing like you might think, it's sometimes a new great season in the making.
Hands down for sure a beautiful and creative album, the work and dedication to this one is without a doubt to be given credit where credit is due, initially before I heard this one I thought it was going to be a super sad and depressing kind of deal, but it's actually far from it, there's heartbreak but it's the hopeful kind. Even though Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow were absolutely mutual with their "conscious uncoupling," they still love each other platonically, but the bittersweet tax does play it's part, I mean when you fall in love get married, start a family, your going to seriously miss those memories of being together even though you decided to split paths, there is still the aching that remains even it's a good thing.
What's so surprising is how Chris stayed so optimistic and full of life during that whole era, I like what he said to Zane Lowe that if we face our fears and sorrows head on, that's where we'll find our true celebration and joy, it's not about cowering away from it you essentially look at your ghost and say "I see you, you might be trying to scare me, but I won't follow that narrative, I see alot ahead of me and I'm going to celebrate that right now." Pain and suffering is our breakthrough in the works.
"Midnight" is sensitive and tender it doesn't need to be clashy to tell what it's trying to convey, sometimes being still is the greatest battle tactic we can do to handle our thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
"Magic" when hard things happen, we resort to calling it terrible and unfortunate, but sometimes what we should really see is this magical moment that we can and be refined in.
"O" litteraly feels like came across Chris's journal by accident and seeing this hidden note in there as well "Don't Let Me Go," transparency is sure something that we should celebrate more often.
"Oceans" is very sobering and just makes you yearn to be innocent again and move on peacefully, we tend to react to our issues, be what we really need to respond, and I love how it just transitions into...
"A Sky Full of Stars" once you've taken time to yourself and dealt with some hard matters in a healthy way, you find out it's going to be just fine because even though it's clichƩ term, but your best days are not behind you, the best is still yet to come and you can surely and truly rejoice in that fact all the time, life should not be taken for granted we must look at everyday as a reason and give thanks we are alive!!
I like this album a lot. I just don't understand why they didn't include "Ghost Story" the title song of the whole record, but other than that, just a great follow-up from Mylo Xyloto where went in a party frenzy into this Ghost Stories into enjoying the peace and quiet knowing that if you deal with it in the right way good and great things will come and become absolutely possible!!
