So, I want to become a nurse however Colby college is REALLY calling to me.

Is there any route I could take to one day get my nursing degree while still becoming a nurse one day? Im okay with extra schooling, but only if Colby is directly leading to me being enrolled there or if they help me get enrolled there and/or get financial aid.

Basically, I want my time at Colby to still pay off somehow. If my expectations are unrealistic, that’s fine and pls tell me.

Edit: a Colby official came to my school and said that they will pay 100% demonstrated need for low income kids. I am low income, so if I go, I won’t pay much if anything probably.

Was wondering if any athletes or recent alumni had any info on if Colby has random drug testing for athletes? It sounds like it’s up to the school at the d3 level, and was curious if anyone had any insight.

Hello I am a senior in high school and I recently visited Colby for athletics and spoke to some athletes and got a tour of campus, I really enjoyed the team dynamics, the curriculum and opportunities the school provides for my program like summer research. I’m interested in getting my bachelors in chemistry and furthering my education by specialising in environmental chemistry, Im also planning on minoring in music studies as well.

My main issue is the cost, I am an out of state student. on paper I am well over the financial aid cutoff due to my FASFA forms but at maximum I can afford 48k a year before scholarships and I can get about 25k a year in miscellaneous scholarships. Meaning I could pay about 73k a year. Thankfully my parents are keeping track of what I would owe them so I don’t have to take out massive loans. Would attending Colby be worth the debt to my parents?

Update: I have offers at UVM and UNH for my sport and their programs are very good as well but I’m out of state and it would cost me about 68k a year at either vs Colby for me is about 82k

I was just wondering how good the professors are and how difficult it is to maintain a high GPA is it like the same level as bates or would you say it is more rigorous than Bates or less rigorous ?

I'm wondering what the difference is between a Spanish 128 course and 135. I'm not sure which one is the best fit for me. For any Colby students who are on the Spanish track, can you provide some insight?

I’ve been selected for the BA (Regular) course at this college and am planning to enroll, but I need to know if there is a mandatory 75% attendance requirement. Since I am preparing for government exams, I won't be able to attend regular classes as the timings clash.

Also, what is the faculty like? Are the teachers good?

Will attendance be an issue?

What is the maximum percentage of attendance required?

Hi! A Colby student stopped in our Rockland shop. I asked her if a food trailer featuring donuts like ours would be popular on campus. She mentioned that the college actually hires trucks to come on campus and in effect distribute free eats that the college has already paid for.

Is this factual? And if so any ideas on whom to contact RE this? Thanks!

i’m going to be a freshman at colby this fall and trying to figure out how much money i need to have saved up. What are some of the things yall spent the most on during freshman year?

Can any current student please give me some items or a list of items that an incoming freshman should definitely get. Is there anything that you wished you knew about the dorms before coming in? and are there things you wished you'd pack?

I can see that Colby has a rule that I can register for 18 credits max. I wanted to know if there is a workaround to this because I will drop out of 1/2 courses anyway and just wanted to check if the workload is managable for me or not. But by intially taking 5 courses would mean that I am registering for 4x5=20 credits.

I plan on going to collage for astronomy, I want to work as a researcher at ideally nasa one day. But I am by no means rich (lower middle class) is it worth the money to go to Colby over a community college? I’m just concerned about going into debt or not being able to afford the education. This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, but it seems more and more distant due to money

However, it has been several weeks, and with my registration date approaching, I am confused about where I can find my placement markers.
