MISC Kallen Kozuki is so beautiful ❤️✨👑 Part 32 of 100: CounterSide
CounterSide is a 2D strategy/tower-defense RPG, developed by the South Korean studio Studiobside and first released 2020 (globally 2022). The game takes place in a near-future urban fantasy setting where the real world (the Normal Side) is constantly threatened by an alternate dimension known as the CounterSide: terrifying monsters known as Corrupted Objects are attacking from CounterSide, trying to destroy humanity. However, certain humans, known as Counters, had awakened cosmic powers to fight these monsters.
The player plays as the CEO of the Cooperative Underground Administration, a private military corporation where it is his job to recruit, manage, and deploy squads of Counters, Soldiers, and Mechs to defend the city while uncovering the dark, apocalyptic mystery of why the universes are collapsing into one another.
The CounterSide x Code Geass crossover featured an original event story that stayed highly faithful to the established dynamic of the Code Geass universe while blending seamlessly with CounterSide's dimensional travel lore: due to a dimensional distortion, Lelouch, Kallen, and other Code Geass characters were displaced from their home world and dropped into the alternate, monster-plagued Earth of CounterSide. They had to navigate the complex politics of the CounterSide universe, facing off against both dimensional threats and local factions while trying to find a way back home.
In CounterSide, Kallen was released as an Awakened SSR Striker. Despite being a human pilot, her classification in the game was a Mech unit because she fights entirely inside her legendary 9th-generation Knightmare Frame, the Guren S.E.I.T.E.N. Eight Elements. Her passive skill, Ace Pilot, was exceptionally imppressive in the game: it granted her massive combat sustainability, for when her health dropped below a certain threshold, she gained a robust HP-based barrier, becoming temporarily immune to hits from special skills, and gaining the ability to detect cloaked/stealth units. Thanks to this, she could be dropped directly into chaotic skirmishes and absorb heavy initial punishment during fights.
Now, usually when there are crossover events involving Code Geass, some kind of easter eggs or other pleasant surprises are added for the fans of the anime, and crossover with CounterSide was no exception: if you placed Kallen in the same room as Lelouch, special character pathing would cause her to actively follow Lelouch's chibi sprite around the room, mimicking her role as his fiercely loyal bodyguard.
Sadly, Kallen is no longer obtainable in the game, not only because Code Geass was a limited-time collaboration event, and her banner was exclusive to the events period, but also because the active life cycle of CounterSide has officially drawn to a close: Studiobside announced the end of live service on August 26, 2026. While it enjoyed a dedicated cult following for years thanks to its outstanding anime-style artwork, deep lore, and excellent tactical gameplay, its overal mainstream popularity declined over time due to a saturated gacha market.
Fortunately, not all hope for Kallen´s return in the game is lost. The developers explicitly stated that while the original live service has ended, they are planning to bring CounterSide back in the future as a reboot project following a period of reorganization and foundation-level structural updates. So, if they do decide to do another crossover event with Code Geass in the future, it is very much possible that Kallen is called back into action. 🐦🔥

DISCUSSION He really had no idea what it was like to have friends who cared about him
I love during the scene when the gang sets off the fireworks, Milly mentions how she hopes to do it with everyone one day and tells Lelouch that includes him and Rolo. Rolo's reaction stands out to me, he's shocked that they actually care about him too. Made even more impactful because the final picture drama shows even with their memories of Nunnally restored, the Student Council still missed him. Rolo did unforgivable things but I can't hate him knowing he was a kid who was groomed into a weapon and spent his entire life never knowing true love.

MISC Nippon Sangoku gives me same feeling that Code Geass S1 did.
I recommend it greatly to all Code Geass fans. To anyone who has seen it, what do you think?

DISCUSSION I made a post a few months ago about this game, it’s actually improved quite a lot!
“Improved quite a lot” is kind of an understatement. It’s like an actual, full game now, and it’s probably because I’m tired but I sat there playing it alone for 3 hours straight so I think I can talk a bit about it.
Basically it’s like those military action games with Code Geass. Each round, a different kind of gamemode is randomly selected to pit a Britannia team and a Black Knights team against each other. Theres also a civilian team but honestly I didn’t look at it because it seemed very irrelevant so check it out yourselves since I haven’t.
“Britannia” mainly includes the knightmares and vehicles used by the Britannians obviously, and the “Black Knights” has the… Black Knigjts ones. The models for the mechs and stuff look pretty good honestly, they were translated well into 3D.
The only real complaint I have about this game is the grinding. The starter mechs suck. They just suck. You literally have to make sure you’re behind someone else to shoot because the starter mechs are so easy to kill. It realistically makes sense but that basically means being caught off guard or accidentally wandering into the frontlines is a 4/5 chance of death.
On the other hand, most of the named knightmares are really good and much funner. Orange Boy’s mech is broken af, and the Guren just one-shots anything if it gets close (kinda accurate).
After 3 hours of pure gameplay I’ve only bought one new mech and the Guilford skin it has (around 6k coins-ish; most of the named mechs cost more than that by a good amount). You can spend coins, which can’t be bought with Robux but are much more plentiful, or sakuradite, which can be bought with robux and is a little more scarce but can still be obtained naturally at a similar rate.
I did manage to have fun, and I will keep playing sometimes, because it’s fighting as a Code Geass knightmare with a small but happy group of dedicated players, of course it’s fun. Just expect it to still be a Roblox game. Even if it’s free, time is money, and you have to dedicate a lot of time for it to be worth enough to get the Lancelot or something.

DISCUSSION Mao has (once again) been chosen as the Devil Upright. Nina has been chosen as the Devil Reverse. Who represents the Tower?
A Card of Upheaval, or of Turmoil.
Upright: The Tower represents sudden upheaval, revelation, and necessary destruction of false foundations. While shocking and disruptive, this change clears away illusions and structures that were built on shaky ground. Though initially devastating, this breakdown creates space for something more authentic and stable to be built.
Upheaval. Chaos. Revelation. Awakening. Sudden change.
Reverse: Reversed, The Tower suggests avoiding necessary change, fear of upheaval, or internal transformation. You may be resisting inevitable changes or experiencing inner turmoil rather than external disruption. While you might avoid immediate chaos, underlying issues still need to be addressed. Face necessary changes before they become unavoidable.
Turmoil. Denial. Resistance. Avoided disaster. Delayed disaster. Fear of change.
Runner ups: The High Eunuchs. Gene Smilas.

DISCUSSION Question about Factspheres
I'm rewatching r1/2 again for the 11th time (not even joking) and was thinking something:
Why the Guren, Gekkas etc. don't have a Factsphere system? Clearly it's still "necessary" since the Vincent and Albion still has it, but then the Seiten doesn't for some reason? Same for the Gawain, which is weird since it has the druid system and you'd think it would need/want to have them to bettter compute and predict stuff.
Anyways just a dumb little thing I noticed (just like how in the hellish fck they fit a slash harken in the pommel of Tohdohs Gekka/Zangetsus sword..?)
