Geoengineering news or updates?

A few years ago it seemed like there was a healthy debate about geoengineering vs just cutting emissions. I was skeptical that we would actually finally cut emissions then so I figured GE would get more and more attention.

I haven't heard much about GE recently. I saw the group at Harvard basically shut down?

I take it the green/nimbys shouted down GE same as they shouted down nuclear power in the 70s and 80s, and continue to imagine that surely the rest of the world will join them in simply cutting off fossil fuels?

Why are the sane adults not talking about GE? it's the only option left.
