Probably the wildest start I've had in almost 1200 hours of gameplay. Continents. Large map. Paititi on the left, Piopiotahi on the top right. As I explored more it turned out that I was on a large, almost completely isolated island. One tiny connection to the mainland in the west of the island. Not necessarily ideal for Mongols, but I'll take it!

I was deep into a Culture run with Basil II and was in the process of pillaging the absolute fuck out of Montezuma's entire existence. Monty had a ton of Great Works that I wanted, but I didn't want to conquer his empire because I still wanted to spam his wonders with rock bands.

Suddenly, inspiration struck. I proceeded to conquer nearly all of his cities and immediately transferred all of the GWs out of his cities and into mine. Then I offered a peace deal where he could have all his cities back in exchange for his few remaining works + a shitload of gold. It worked like a charm and I ended up getting everything I wanted. The second the war ended I rushed in an army of rock bands and the game was over within about 10 turns.

Not an amazing story, just amused I could be 2k hours into it and still discovering new dirty tricks.

Best game ever.

I didn't skip America, it's arranged as U for United States.

Just played Qin for this one to kill two birds with one stone. The amount of achievements and how to get some of these is ridiculous. My favourite so far is probably 'Wat is love' cause of the name. 99 luftballons was a chore. So was pizza party. Some are downright broken and some are really badly explained.

I would be crazy to get this to a hundred percent, I doubt I ever will.

Was playing in emperor and the game would have been winnable if it wasnt for congo that was miles ahead in everything we are talking him being at atomic era while the most of us were near the end of medival also as you can see absourd military power (i trew at him like 5 submarines and 4 battleship as a last resort, all died in 3 turns).

The only particular thing of the game was that for the first half we were in 2 very distant continent and congo was in the other one

Hello hello - I have played many many many hours of the game and can win on deity, but I’ve found myself in a rut. I haven’t played anywhere close to all of the leaders but I have both R&F and GS packs.

I typically turn off score and diplo victory, use civics shuffle, and some mix of heroes, corps, secret societies to add layers.

My rut is that I find myself almost always relying on domination at some point. Even with other victory conditions, by late ages I’m almost always thinking “well I guess I’ll just ramp up a big army and some nukes and take out the other guy close to his victory”. Or also I love playing as Harald Hadrada because of early coastal raiding.

I’m in a situation where I look at the screen and despite so many leaders I’ve barely even tried, it all just feels bleh to me at the moment.

I’d love recommendations on a leader and style of play that you really enjoy that I can try to get in the mindset of and give it a go. Who and what style of play do you find as really interesting? What do you find more exciting than just falling down the domination path?

Culture and Religious wins have been sooo annoying to get. So glad I got them both finally. Let me know what I should try next !!!

Greece never got to initially settle. I’m going for religion victory and I kept searching for their cities and im like wait there’s a random settler trapped between tiles and that’s the only unit they have on the map. They just now finally established their first city.

Any tips for playing as Nubia? I always struggle with production due to desert tiles and it leads to a slow build. I’m on PS5 btw.

What’s the best way to take advantage of the desert?

I always feel a birt dirty if I win by diplomacy by rushing the statue of liberty cause all other options are out of reach. Especially when I was going for a science or culture win.

I set resources to abundant, but i did NOT expect this at all when I loaded in... shame I got it with America. I do use BBG and BBM, as I play multiplayer a lot with friends.
