Medical Help Us Build a Wiki of Vasectomy-Friendly Doctors and Hospitals in India

Hey folks,

Inspired by this recent post from a fellow member who got a vasectomy in Mumbai, and as suggested by u/singlecatpapa and u/curioussoull116 we’re starting a community-maintained wiki of childfree-friendly doctors and hospitals across India who support voluntary vasectomy requests without judgment, coercion, or refusal based on age or marital status.

This resource aims to help fellow r/ChildfreeIndia members who are exploring sterilization as a personal and informed choice.

-------------------------------------------------

Before we finalize the wiki format [provided below], we’d love to hear from you:

  • Is this the right kind of data we should be capturing?
  • Should we avoid listing any contact info at all, even public ones?
  • Any privacy, safety, or formatting suggestions?

Please comment below or message the mods with ideas—we’re open to refining the format so it stays respectful, useful, and safe for everyone.

-------------------------------------------------

✅ What We’re Collecting:

We’re looking for crowdsourced, self-reported entries from:

  • People who have had a vasectomy (or tried to),
  • Partners/friends of someone who did,
  • Or anyone with direct experience at a hospital/clinic.

Your responses will help us build a wiki page that lists helpful doctors/hospitals by city, tagged as:

  • ✅ Supportive (vasectomy performed without hassle)
  • ❗ Unverified or unclear experience
  • 🛑 Denied / Judgmental (see note below)

📋 Share in This Format:

  1. City:
  2. Hospital/Clinic Name:
  3. Doctor’s Name and Gender (optional):
  4. Was the procedure done? (Yes/No):
  5. Any judgment or denial? (Yes/No and brief reason):
  6. Your experience (1–2 lines):
  7. Year of Visit:
  8. Would you recommend them? (Yes/No/Maybe):
  9. Public source link (if any, for contact info):

Feel free to comment below or send a modmail if you’d rather not post publicly. We’ll regularly update the wiki based on your inputs.

📌 Important Notes:

  • Please do not include full phone numbers or email addresses. If publicly available, you can link to the clinic or hospital’s website or page.
  • At this stage, we recommend not naming doctors in negative reviews. If you've had a denial or poor experience, you're welcome to describe it, but please avoid full names unless the issue is systemic and confirmed by multiple users.
  • This list is based on self-reported experiences. We cannot independently verify each entry. Readers are encouraged to use discretion and seek second opinions where possible.
  • The list will live on the r/ChildfreeIndia Wiki to keep it accessible, editable, and up-to-date.

Let’s build a resource that empowers others to make informed, confident decisions. Thanks to everyone who contributes!

Lounge [ANNOUNCEMENT] The Official r/ChildfreeIndia Discord Server is Live! Join Us!

Hi everyone!

Based on the outcome of the subreddit poll and the overwhelming feedback from our reddit chat members, we have officially launched the r/ChildfreeIndia Discord Server!

We have designed this server to be a simple, safe, and low-stress alternative to the Reddit group chat, which has now officially shut down.

Our goal is to keep things "Reddit-chat-like" for now - minimal channels, one main chat, and a focus on community conversation.

Note that this server is NOT for dating. Please continue to use the subreddit's Sunday CF4CF posts for that purpose.

🔗 Click Here to Join: https://discord.gg/w4ArkBFv84

(You will need to read the rules and click the ✅ reaction inside the #welcome-and-rules channel to unlock the chat. You won't see the chat channels until you do this!)

What to Expect

  • Minimalist setup. Just one main chat channel to start, so it doesn't feel overwhelming.
  • We have implemented chat logging/ mod tools, and strong anti-harassment measures, including a ModMail bot, which you can use for reporting issues to all mods (similar to ModMail on Reddit).
  • Work in Progress- This is just the beginning! We will expand and improve the server based on your feedback over time.

Please remember: The subreddit remains our main home. This server is an optional, dedicated space for real-time chatting, which you can use to find a CF social circle and make CF friends.

See you in the chat!

Misc. I quit, I’m not childfree anymore

I never thought I’d make this post, but being CF sounds great in theory, but sometimes it gets really hard man.

Finding a partner who shares the same views feels almost impossible. Dating is already difficult in India, and having the CF filter, on top of other stupid filters, makes it even harder.

And sometimes it gets lonely. my friends are getting married, starting families, and moving forward with their lives. Meanwhile, I’m wondering if I’ll ever find a person.

I’ve spent a decade being sure about my decision, but lately, I’ve been questioning things. I’m tired of waiting. I just want someone to come home to, someone to take care of, someone who makes the house feel a little less empty..

So I’ve finally made my decision. I’m having a kid next week. I’m adopting a kitten. I’ll officially be a cat father now. Wish me luck guys, I’m about to enter parenthood. Now all i have to do next is find her a mom, someone to share the responsibilities with.

Rant Fuck I am done with this sub Goodbye 👋✌️

Men are so desperate seriously. Recently I’ve noticed men DMing me and then following my profile for whatever reason. When you ignore them they start trying to get your attention by giving awards to my comments and posts. And then there are the unsolicited creepy DMs. Some of these men aren’t even remotely within my age range. Had a 35 year old guy reach out recently and I’ve had to block so many of them at this point.

dont even get me started on some people pretending to be CF when they clearly arent you block them and then they come back messaging you from new accounts like wtf is wrong with you people.

i’m fucking tired of this shit I’m here to participate in discussions read posts share opinions and enjoy the memes not deal with unwanted attention from random men who can’t take a hint.

Thanks to everyone I’ve interacted with here whether through discussions posts comments or memes. It was nice while it lasted but I’m out ✌️

Discussion Choosing a CF life as a single individual implicitly means accepting the possibility of a partner-free life, too.

Going through a some of the rants about being unable to find a cf partner, I felt compelled to share this perspective. If you are single and have chosen to be CF while still harboring hopes of finding a romantic partner, you are squarely setting yourself up for disappointment. When somebody isn't a 100% at peace with the possibility of navigating life alone, never finding a life partner, or growing old without a steady companion to witness events of life, perhaps they haven't fully processed what committing to a Childfree life actually entails.

It's not about expecting loneliness. It's about accepting that a fulfilling life must remain possible even if there is no one to share it with. Your happiness, purpose, and emotional well-being must not be dependent on another person being there.

CF4CF 29M, Govt. Officer, M4F, Let's Build a life we actually want

Me: 29, Maharashtra Govt Officer from a middle-class Hindu-Marathi family in Northern Maharashtra. Salary: ₹13 LPA (salary varies with allowances, 8th pay). Height - 173 cm (5' 8"). Based in a tier-3 city; can relocate within MH.

Hobbies: Travel, adventure bike rides, TV series, exploring food and learning to cook. Love non-veg food, mountains, and beach sunsets. Aim for international and domestic trips plus weekend rides yearly. I don't smoke or drink.

I'm introvert or extrovert depending on the person and our bond. I value substance over appearances, take work seriously without letting it define me, and enjoy learning and new experiences—an everythingaholic!

Opinions about me:
From my co-workers: straightforward, fearless, blunt, analytical, responsible.
From my friends: adventurous, helpful, open-minded, sensitive, curious, detail-oriented.

Why I'm childfree:

  1. I want to use my stable income and free time to travel, learn, and enjoy life—not take on the lifelong responsibilities of raising children. I'd rather prioritise my life and my family.
  2. I don't hate children, but enjoying their company and wanting the lifelong responsibility of raising them are two different things.
  3. I don't want to become a parent because of social expectations or because it's considered the natural next step after marriage.
  4. Children shouldn't be expected to support parents in old age. I'll plan for our parents' care but don't want to burden my existence on children.

Looking for: A working woman around my age to be my future pillion rider and travel partner. Someone who values friendship, mutual respect, open communication, emotional maturity, and shared values. Someone who values peace of mind and quality of life over money or status, and wants to live on her own terms.

Being childfree is non-negotiable (no biological or adopted children). Since I've a state govt job, I cannot relocate out of MH. I prefer a non-vegetarian partner, but a vegetarian is fine if she's comfortable with non-veg being cooked and eaten at home. No smoking; occasional drinking is okay.

I imagine settling in the mountains in my 50s, in India or abroad, maybe open a cafe or something, as at that age I would love to slow down and enjoy a more peaceful life. It's not a fixed plan, just a possibility I'd love to explore.

There's another mountain to see, another sunset to chase, another road to ride, and another beautiful morning waiting to be lived.

P.S.: I want to date for months before marriage. Long-distance dating is fine initially, but not married life.

Discussion This is why i know i 100% want to be CF

I am a female.
Even if i am given:
-unlimited money
- loving husband who actually helps with childcare
- unlimited help with the house and kid
- best education and life for my child
- my own house and debt free life
Despite all that I still wouldn’t want a child.
None of those things makes me more inclined to have a kid and be a mother. I just don’t want that life.

So that’s how i can be so sure that i dont want a child.

Rant Ladies, please don’t get physically involved with men until you both have clarity and commitment.

I had two experiences with men from this sub, and honestly, both have left me emotionally drained.

The first guy and I got along really well, and gradually, we started developing feelings for each other. He even wanted me to go on a holiday with him, but I couldn’t because my parents weren’t okay with it. After that, his behaviour started changing. Slowly, he began shutting me out. It’s a long story, but the whole experience was an emotional roller coaster for me.

Months later, I started talking to another guy from this sub. We vibed really well, got close over time, and eventually confessed our feelings for each other. The feelings seemed pretty strong from both sides.

He even visited me in my city, and we got physically involved. During his stay, we also discussed marriage. He opened up about his flaws and told me that he smokes. Earlier, when we had discussed his vices, he had said he was trying to quit. But this time, he told me he wouldn't be able to quit anytime soon because of the mental pressure he was dealing with.

I told him that I accepted him for who he was and that, to me, he was perfect the way he was. I genuinely meant it. I was ready to accept him wholeheartedly, flaws and all.

What makes this whole experience even more painful is that I had opened up to him about my fear of being physically taken advantage of. He knew about my vulnerability, and I trusted him enough to let my guard down. I never thought I'd find myself questioning someone's intentions after opening up to them and getting emotionally invested in them.

But once he returned home, things changed drastically. He became distant and barely messaged me. The weird part was that whenever we did talk, he acted as if nothing was wrong. But the person I had been talking to for months was clearly not the same anymore.

Eventually, we had an argument because I was trying to understand why his behaviour had changed so much. His replies had become nothing more than “hmm” and “yes”. There was no effort, no reassurance, nothing.

He eventually told me that he needed me there. I tried to reassure him that we could figure things out together, and I even told him that I would start applying for jobs in his city. But he said he didn't want me to move there because of him.

I then suggested that we take a break for a few weeks and see if we genuinely missed each other and wanted to make this work. His response? “What if one of us loses interest?”

And then he simply stopped messaging me altogether.

Eventually, I got tired of trying and told him we should end things. He agreed without even the slightest hesitation.

He hasn't contacted me since.

Honestly, I can't help but wonder if the whole thing was just about getting physically involved with me. I don't know for sure what his intentions were, but the way everything unfolded has left me feeling used, especially because I had trusted him with something so personal.

And what's even more upsetting is that I recently came across another girl on this sub who had a very similar experience.

I'm not saying that every man is like this, and I'm not saying that physical intimacy guarantees commitment. But I do feel that, as women, we need to be careful about getting emotionally and physically invested in someone whose intentions and commitment aren't clear.

So, ladies, please don't ignore the importance of commitment and clarity just because the feelings seem mutual, the conversations are deep, or the person talks about a future with you.

At least make sure you're both on the same page about what you're building together before getting physically involved. Words, confessions, and marriage talks can feel very convincing, but what really matters is whether someone's actions match those words.

I learnt this lesson the hard way, and I genuinely don't want anyone else to go through the same emotional mess.

Please be careful out there, ladies. ❤️

CF4CF 35 [F4M] Hyderabad / Bangalore / India – Product Manager looking for an intentional, long-term partnership (Childfree)

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m 35, currently based in Hyderabad, and looking for a male partner for a meaningful, long-term relationship. I am strictly childfree by choice and seeking someone who is fully aligned on that path.

A Bit About Me:

Career: Product Manager at an IT company in Hyderabad. I enjoy problem-solving, intellectual challenges, and having a healthy sense of ambition.

Personality: Mature, grounded, independent, and fun. I appreciate thoughtful conversations just as much as an easygoing, laughter-filled evening.

Interests: Reading books across genres, exploring cozy cafes, and unwinding over great coffee.

Lifestyle: Occasionally non-vegetarian, social drinker, and a non-smoker.

My Approach to Relationships:

I have built a stable, peaceful life that I genuinely value. I believe a healthy partnership should elevate both individuals—bringing mutual care, joy, and growth rather than unnecessary friction. High effort, consistency, and active engagement matter deeply to me; I am not looking for a passive or low-effort connection.

What I’m Looking For:

Age: Around 34–40 years.

Childfree: Fully decided and confident in being childfree (no fence-sitters, please).

Values & Effort: Emotionally available, communicative, and someone who believes relationships require active care and showing up.

Stability: Financially settled, self-reliant, and grounded.

Habits: Non-smoker (strict non-negotiable). Any dietary preference works for me, as long as we can comfortably co-exist and share a table together. Social drinking is completely fine.

Location: Based in Hyderabad or Bangalore preferred. I am open to relocating to Bangalore or other major hubs with good product/tech opportunities for the right connection.

Getting in Touch:

If this resonates, feel free to drop a DM with a brief introduction—tell me a bit about yourself, what you do, and perhaps a favorite book or your go-to weekend cafe.

Edit: i am Hindu and looking for a Hindu guy to avoid additional complications!

Note: used AI to draft the post!

Discussion How am I supposed to tell my parents that I'm CF

M24 I'm not gonna marry anytime soon, so I haven't told my parents about my CF stance, because why should I make a headache for myself this early? But it's a bridge that I have to cross soon. So today, my parents were singing and recording songs in the living room, and I was swinging on the outside swing (I don't like to share a room with my parents, and yes, it's that deep), and they, out of the blue, said, " You know we're doing this? It's so you can show your kids that this is your grandparents singing blah blah blah", and I stayed silent and had a minor anxiety attack after spiralling about the confrontation that I have to have in the future. So this is what I have cooked in my brilliant mind: "So when are you giving us a grandchild?" "Dad, your son's gun doesn't have a bullet". This way, my partner will not be butchered too. IK IK BIG BRAIN. SO the main reason for this post is to know how you guys brought this up to your parents and how did they react?

CF4CF 22M | Chennai | M4F

I'm 22M from Chennai, a recent IT graduate currently exploring the world of backend development and AI. Outside of that, I enjoy sketching, art, and playing the keyboard. I'm more of an introvert, but I love having conversations where both people can be themselves without feeling the need to impress each other.

I'd like to meet someone around my age who values honesty, kindness, and emotional maturity. Someone who enjoys sharing random thoughts, talking about their day, laughing over silly things, or simply being comfortable in each other's company.

I'm childfree by choice and would love to meet someone who shares the same outlook on life.

I believe a good relationship is about understanding each other, respecting personal space, supporting each other's ambitions, and making ordinary days a little more meaningful. I'm not someone who wants to rush into things; I'd rather get to know someone naturally and see if we connect.

I'm based in Chennai, but I'm open to getting to know someone from elsewhere in India, too.

If you're looking for something genuine and feel we might get along, feel free to introduce yourself. Let's start with a conversation and see where it goes. 🌻

CF4CF 30M,Hyderabad – Looking for a Childfree Partner

I'm 30M, working as a software engineer in Hyderabad. I come from a Telugu family and value my roots while living an independent lifestyle.

I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, and an introvert who prefers peaceful evenings and a simple, minimalist life over a flashy or high-end lifestyle.

I'm looking for a woman who is certain about being childfree — not "maybe someday" or "let's see," but someone who has consciously made the same decision.

I believe in living below our means, avoiding unnecessary lifestyle pressures, and building a peaceful, financially stable life together. I'd like a relationship where both partners respect each other's individuality, share responsibilities fairly, and make decisions together as equals.

I value honesty, emotional maturity, open-mindedness, and mutual respect. I don't expect us to agree on everything, but I believe in listening without judgment and treating each other as equals.

Hyderabad preferred, but open to connecting with someone elsewhere.

If this resonates with you, feel free to DM.

Misc. Letter to my unborn child

To My Unborn Child

My little love,

I’m sorry I won’t get to meet you.
I’m sorry for the kisses that will never find your cheeks, for the mornings I won’t spend brushing curls away from your eyes. You might have your daddy’s dimples. And I imagine you would be kind, like the best parts of both of us. Oh, my child, we would have loved watching you become yourself.

But there are things about your mamma that are difficult to put into words. Some days, being here feels heavy. I am weak and afraid of the pain I might pass on without meaning to. Afraid that loving you with everything in me would not be enough. Also I look at this world and wish it were softer. I wish kindness mattered more than being beautiful, clever, or first. I wish people did not have to become hard just to get through their days. I wish world didn’t hate based on religion, caste, language, skin color etc.

So when I imagine you now, I imagine you somewhere gentle. Somewhere you do not have to earn tenderness or hide your softness.
And if there is a heaven, perhaps, at the end of this life, I will finally get to hold you.

But for now, let me say I love you.
Not because of who you might have become.
Not because of anything you would have achieved.

Just you, my little child.
Just you.
Love,
Mamma

Or will they judge me or ask my parents presence?? I'm an adult , please let me know, overthinking like crazy

I'm a childfree guy in Bangalore and want to get a vasectomy. I'm sure about being childfree.
I've heard you need someone to accompany you to the hospital and take you home afterwards. Since I'm single and don't have a partner how do I manage this?

Anyone from Bangalore who's had a vasectomy please share your experience and recommend a good doctor or hospital. I'm okay spending ₹50–60k if needed. Just want to get it done safely without unnecessary hassle.

edit: I prefer No-scalpel vasectomy (NSV)

Discussion For those looking for a CF partner do you think marriage is necessary or can you just live together?

This came to my mind so I thought let me ask what people here think I've probably spent the last 2 hours overthinking whether I should even make this post or not lmao 😭 I'm the kind of person who overthinks literally everything so here we go 😂

So like most of us are looking for a CF partner either here in the sub or on dating apps. Do you guys see marriage as necessary or can two people just live together and look after each other without getting married?

And if you do prefer getting married what kind of wedding would you want? The typical Indian wedding where you invite 500+ people just because your parents and relatives expect you to, including people who barely even know you, and spend a shit ton of money just for the sake of it and because that's how things are traditionally done? Or would you prefer a simple court marriage with just a few close people and use that money to travel with your partner and enjoy life instead?

Personally idk yet but seeing and hearing about typical Indian weddings, all the rituals and other stuff makes me wonder who even came up with all this lol. The whole pandit doing pooja, kundali matching and horoscope compatibility and all that stuff isn't really something I believe in. No hate to people who believe in these things just not for me!!!!!!

If I find someone in the future and we both feel marriage is necessary then I'd definitely prefer a simple court marriage. Hell I'd even see if it's possible to get the court marriage officer to come home and complete the procedure 😂 just to avoid the whole big wedding and inviting people for the sake of it!!!!

if she doesn't believe in marriage and is happy just living together and building a life together then I'm good with that too. That's fine with me as well I don't wanna spend a shit ton of money on a wedding just to invite people I barely know!!!

Anyway just curious to know what you guys have in mind for your future with a CF partner and whether you've ever thought about this stuff or am I the only one who thinks about these things lol 😂
