Fluff It’s pretty cool that we have both a “From North Carolina…” and a “From Chicago…” in our current lineup

And both Caleb and Matas happen to be our most important players. It’s cool following the legacies of both MJ and D. Rose.

At the preseason game right now with my family at the United Center, Bulls vs Timberwolves, and security just told us that my kids were being too loud?? What?? How is that even a thing at a basketball game? They're literally flashing "get Loud" at the jumbotron. SMH @bulls...

Could Leonard Miller be our 6Man this season? I think he can fulfill this role he was very impressive this preseason imo. He suits "SLAP" ideology

Fluff Is Leonard Miller a real NBA player?

This is a really interesting player...and beyond just a couple dozen games of solid play. The guy is 6-10 and pretty athletic.

He got NO playing time in Minnesota. Like...averaged literally 2-5 minutes a game, and didn't play much at all, spending time in the G league.

He's still only 22. Is it possible he really has turned into legit player, potentially a starter in this league?

This obviously is pie in the sky stuff...but I'm envisioning a gigantic and athletic 1-4 of Giddey, Buzelis, Wilson, and Leonard at the 4.

Rumor [NY Post] Only a few possible suitors stand out to me right now in terms of cap space teams and fit. Chicago and the Clippers have the cleanest path. The Nets can get there with the money, but that’s not a good fit. Golden State and Dallas could get around [$50 million] in space with more tinkering.

Fluff [Lorenzi] Bulls 2026-27 season predictions: Caleb Wilson awards talk, questionable defense and more

Thumbnail

We’re days away from the Chicago Bulls embarking on their journey to build a core that’s relevant in the Eastern Conference again. They are young, explosive, lanky and fun. What more can you ask of these baby, rebuilding Bulls?

Better yet, what’s in store for them?

Here are five predictions for the new-look Bulls and their season:

Caleb Wilson will finish top-2 in ROY race

Caleb Wilson has done the easy part: Bring eyeballs back to the Bulls.

For all his hype and flashes of summertime hope, Wilson has reeled in the longtime fans who left, the emotionally exhausted ones who stayed, the NBA League Pass lurkers, the fair-weather citygoers.

His combination of explosiveness, audacity, confidence and aptitude has contributed to the breath of fresh air in the building. And his circumstances give him the runway to contend in a competitive Rookie of the Year field.

The Bulls are not primed for the postseason — if you don’t trust me, ask Las Vegas — but they won’t be so bad that Wilson’s body of work will be dismissed. That sort of thing doesn’t often factor into decision making, but there usually aren’t four worthy candidates.Wilson, the fourth pick in June’s draft, won’t have the burden of being expected to win like his draft-day contemporaries AJ Dybantsa, with the Washington Wizards, and Darryn Peterson, with the Utah Jazz.

He’ll need a well-rounded season — meaning he’ll need to clean up his defensive tendencies — but Wilson’s embrace of responsibility and willingness to score should spell a productive rookie year.

His biggest threat in the race could be Cameron Boozer, who leads the expectation-free Memphis Grizzlies and is surrounded by several pieces that already make sense alongside him. He’s polished and productive, just not flashy.

Wilson brings plenty of flash. And in a league where so many viewers craft their opinions from afar, through highlights and social media, Wilson should benefit from it.

Norman Powell will lead Bulls in scoring

Coach Tiago Splitter’s offensive creativity is already apparent. But few men can mask the disorder that comes with directing such a youthful offense.

Only one player seems immune to all the dry spells and confusion: Norman Powell.

The veteran guard’s skill set and tricks almost guarantee that he’ll average double figures. No one on the Bulls — hell, few in the league — can bait fouls as he does; I’d blindly bet my bank balance that he’ll lead the team in fouls drawn on 3-point attempts. He’s the only movement shooter in the rotation, unfazed by closeouts. There’s also the matter of Chicago’s lack of sufficient ballhandling, which will inevitably force Powell to put the ball on the floor.

Fluff What is the best way to determine who the best and worst defenders are on each team?

I've always been bad at determining who are the best and worst defenders on the Bulls and in the NBA. For the Bulls, who are our best defenders and who are our worst? Is there a defensive statistic that I can use to judge this? Also, what is the best way to determine who are the best and worst defenders on other teams in the NBA?

Analytics How do you think the rotation gonna look with this roster

With the roster we have right now, how do you guys think the rotation is gonna look this season?

Who do you see starting, who should be coming off the bench, and who do you think might end up getting fewer minutes than expected and who more?

I’m especially curious about how the minutes are gonna be distributed and which players could surprise people. What would your ideal 10-man rotation look like?

Curious to hear what you guys think.

Giddey/Jones/Sellers

Powell/Hield/Swain

Buzelis/Miller/Okoro

Wilson/Essengue/Williams

Claxton/Smith/Collins

*Boston Jr, Awaka, Orlando, Suder, Bridges, Hawkins

I think Awaka gonna replace Williams at some point

History Which of Michael Jordan's seasons do you feel was his peak?

Looking beyond the stats and also taking into account what he did in the playoffs and storylines, any of his seasons has a case. As Jim Ross would say, "He's like a man possessed!"

For me, its 1989-1990 MJ. Not only was this one of his best seasons as a 3-point shooter, 37% when the line was full distance, he bulked up to take more contact and stay durable while retaining his hyper-explosive athletic abilities, and this was the perfect blend of young Jordan the athletic freak and older Jordan, the mid-range offensive maestro. The fact he even got 9 assists in that ECF Game 7 against the Pistons when his key teammates on the Bulls were shooting like crap, Grant 3-17 17.6%, Pippen 1-10 10%, Hodges 3-13 23.1%, Cartwright 3-9 33.3%, Armstrong 1-8 12.5%, is amazing. He put up a near triple double 31/9/8 on 48.1% FG shooting and the team still lost by almost 20.

Fluff [SI] Leonard Miller may already have moved ahead of Patrick Williams in the Bulls’ rotation

Thumbnail
si.com
246 Upvotes

Miller had 26 points and 7 boards on 11-of-14 shooting against Denver, including 4-of-6 from three. SI notes that he already seems to be getting the nod ahead of Patrick Williams in Splitter’s rotation. And once again, Williams is the 4th-highest paid player on the team at $18M this year, with the same money coming the next two seasons. I don’t love piling on the guy, but at this point that contract feels pretty much untradeable.

Buddy Hield also gets a mention for the shooting and veteran presence he’s bringing to the second unit.
