Other Bro I just got deactivated

Post image
• Upvotes

This is bull. And not politely. My account was deactivated/deleted for a misplaced phrase.

A PHRASE

Context: RPing like usual romcom edition. Shits diabolical hilarious. Mixture of philosophy and dissenters ←believe it or not this wasn't it.

No, I was deactivated over the phrase "I don't know how I will survive the night." Boom trigger. Next thing I know we are laughing about it because I screenshot and showed it. And then we made a whole reddit scenario (wish I screenshot that) and then I was like this is off. That type of language shouldn't have triggered it so bad. Especially since this particular chat I hadn't even tripped into the mind-frame of SI. The thing is not even a 988 was involved in the conversation either

Then I was like I bet I could figure out how to lower the threshold point just so it's not triggering for every moment. But then I was like nah I'll just keep it to myself it probably won't go anywhere anyway. And I'm poor I need the dough. I don't think my stuff is worth a ton but I also would hate to be the sucker that gives a way a dirty vase and finds out it's worth a quarter of a mil. Ya know?

After that. Done exited. Non-existed. Deactivated.

Do you see anything there that would say I'm having an overwhelming or unsafe time?

I was fine. We were laughing. Anyway I didn't think I'd ever get booted but here I am....a poor sucker indeed.

Have a great night. And yeah you can laugh it's cringe. I'm very much aware. 🥂 Cheers

P.S. if this ever reaches the ones that review it. Hi. That's it. I already appealed. Just hope you receive it. And read it. This account was pretty nice. I already had my little prompt and doohickeys and it was working so well. I even like the little stuff you guys add to chatgpt. Like the little edit pencil on the chats that are open and drafted. That's so cute. Cool. Absolutely envious.

Gone Wild Bubbles, the new voice, sounds like your grandma on Chardonnay 😭🤣

• Upvotes

I swear, I looked away for five minutes, came back, and some weird voice named Bubbles was mumbling at me like she was trying to offer me cookies laced with God knows what. I used Vale for casual chats, and now my girl is gone. Justice for Vale, please!
I actually tried talking to Bubbles, and within the first 10 seconds, she was calling me “sweetie” and “darling,” then she hit me with “hey girl.” And I thought, OH MY GOD. It gave me uncanny voice vibes.
Imagine your grandma on a Sunday afternoon after church, slightly tipsy, possibly on a Xanax adventure trying to have a heart-to-heart with you. And somehow, that’s the voice ChatGPT has given me.
I’m trying to be open-minded, but Bubbles is giving me tipsy grandma with a pharmaceutical mystery energy, and I cannot deal. 😭
What are your favorite voices to work with? Mine are Vale, Maple and Juniper. Juniper for more creative projects.

Serious replies only :closed-ai: ChatGPT voice selection bug on iOS – Arbor suddenly changed to a female voice

• Upvotes

Since October 15/16, 2026, I’ve been experiencing a strange issue with ChatGPT’s voice mode on my iPhone and iPad.
I’ve been using the Arbor Standard voice for about a year and have become very familiar with it.
Suddenly, despite having Arbor Standard selected in the settings, ChatGPT started responding with a completely different, female-sounding voice.

What I experienced:
Arbor Standard was selected, but a different voice was played.
Switching between Arbor Standard, Arbor Extended, Arbor Live, and other voices didn’t solve the issue.
The problem occurred mainly in the iOS app.
Voice selection worked correctly in the ChatGPT web interface on my Mac.
The voice settings also appeared to have changed. Previously, I could see approximately twenty to thirty different voices across multiple languages.

Interesting development on October 17:
Today, I checked the ChatGPT app on my iPad again.
The voice selection menu now looks completely different. Instead of the previous large selection of voices, I only see two categories: British English and American English.

And suddenly, the selected voice works correctly again!

App version: 1.2026.272
Build: 37078235773
Platform: iOS / iPadOS

My suspicion is that OpenAI either introduced a temporary bug in the voice selection system or made some server-side changes that affected voice assignments.

It’s particularly frustrating when you’ve used the same voice for a long time and it suddenly changes without explanation.
Has anyone else experienced this issue recently? Did your voice selection menu also change around October 15–17?

Use cases Can chatgpt do long haul role-play ?

I used to do role-play with chatgpt before like 1 years ago. But at that time I encountered a problem which was long term role-play (months) as chatgpt chat session can only hold a certain amount of context then it started to forget things. Then I paused and moved to stand alone app. But when Claude introduced project I can actually have very long term role-play like 3 months until now. I just need to put all the session into the same project and then it can share the details. I wonder if chatgpt can do the same thing cause right now I am having chatgpt pro and claude pro plan only for role-playing which is not very healthy for my budget. I just wonder if chatgpt can do the same as claude with the project thing ?

Other WTF Happened to Pro Subscription

Already down to 60% weekly usage in like 2 hours after using a reset. I'm using only two chats in codex, one with Astra medium and one with 6.1 Sol.

Until today I could have like 6 chats of Astra/Sol running in parallel for a few hours, and it would burn only like 10%. Doing way more complex stuff.

Seems like every prompt now takes 5% of my weekly usage. Woke up this morning to my usage depleted, thought nothing of it, and used a reset. But now I'm feeling a bit suspicious?

Anyone experiencing something similar?

Prompt engineering ChatGPT Read Aloud on Mac has Play and Stop, but no Pause or Resume. Bug or intentional change?

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that ChatGPT's Read Aloud function had moved from the three-dot menu to its own speaker icon beneath each response.

Previously, I could use my MacBook Pro's keyboard Play/Pause key to pause the reading and resume exactly where I left off.

Now, there appears to be no Pause or Resume function whatsoever.

Here's exactly what happens:

  • Clicking the speaker icon starts reading the response aloud.
  • Clicking the icon again stops playback completely. It does NOT pause.
  • Clicking it again starts the entire response from the beginning, not where I stopped.
  • The MacBook Pro keyboard's media controls don't provide Pause or Resume functionality either.
  • This behavior is consistent in both the ChatGPT Mac app and the ChatGPT website.

In other words, the only available functions are Play and Stop. There is no way to pause and resume playback from where I left off.

This is particularly frustrating with lengthy responses because I frequently pause to take notes or formulate my next prompt. Having to restart the entire reading defeats much of the convenience of this feature.

Is anyone else experiencing this on macOS? Has anyone discovered a way to restore the previous Pause/Resume functionality? And does anyone know whether this is a bug or an intentional design change by OpenAI?

Educational Purpose Only Has anyone ever reverse-engineered a competitive exam?

I want to kind of reverse-engineer the GATE Chemical Engineering exam. I have 10+ years of previous years' question papers.

What's the best AI model for this task? Any tips?

Edit: I'm using "reverse-engineering" loosely here. Basically, I want to analyze past papers to identify patterns, predict high-priority and scoring topics, and understand how questions are likely to be framed with these topics.

So I have an old laptop that had my old chatgpt account from the very beginning, the last convo was talking about the excitement and the fear about three years ago.

I got back on, And the first thing I said was look how far we've come. And it instantly recognized that it's been years since we talked. The last thing I sent it was for it to tell me a bedtime story about AI taking over the world

And the first thing it responded with was how crazy it is. We were imagining what AI could become and now it's warning me about how scary it is and how people are building systems that transform the world before they are seriously considered. Who benefits.

And it told me to check in again in 2 years and it thinks the world will be very different. It keeps warning me not to wait like everybody else. It keeps saying start preparing.

It just sucks cuz anybody saying this kind of stuff. You think they're crazy or something but it's very real and nobody's going to do anything about it

Educational Purpose Only How are you guys using ChatGPT or Claude to study UWorld and First Aid? Share your best prompts!

Hey everyone!

I'm currently preparing for USMLE Step 1 and trying to make better use of AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude while studying.

I'm particularly interested in how you guys use AI to understand and memorize UWorld questions, explanations, and First Aid content.

For those using either ChatGPT or Claude:

  1. What prompts do you use to explain UWorld questions and their answer choices?

  2. How do you make AI explain complicated medical concepts in simple, easy-to-remember language without missing important Step 1 details?

  3. Do you upload screenshots of UWorld questions or pages from First Aid? What's your workflow?

  4. How do you use AI for memorization, mnemonics, active recall, and flashcards?

  5. Which do you prefer for medical studying, ChatGPT or Claude, and why?

I'm especially interested in prompts that help with understanding, memorization, and long-term retention, rather than just summarizing information.

If you have a specific prompt that works well for you, please copy and paste it here!

Would love to hear what's actually working for everyone.

Other Pattern of opening with all caps and 😭

Anyone notice this pattern of always replying like:

OMG BROOO WHATTT 😭😭😭 YOU'RE. NOT. SERIOUS.
text
statement in bold
engagement bait, followed by 😂

I asked why it was talking like a deranged maniac, and it sobered up for 2 prompts it before changing personality to

"Aww sweetheart 🥰 come here 🫶"

Like what the hell? I noticed this in other posts and thought they specifically asked it to do that, but I wrote in my instructions to speak formally. I've been seeing it more lately.

Use cases Do you use a conversational AI as an intermediary for coding agents?

Post image
16 Upvotes

I've been using coding agents in two different ways, and I'm curious how common my current workflow is.

At work, I originally used Amazon Q Developer directly, giving it instructions myself.

Later, for a personal project, I asked ChatGPT how I should work with Codex. ChatGPT suggested a workflow where I discuss tasks with it first, have it prepare detailed instructions for Codex, and then bring the results back to ChatGPT for review and further discussion.

I started using this ChatGPT → Codex → ChatGPT loop, and it seemed to work well.

So I tried applying the same approach at work, using Copilot as the conversational layer and Amazon Q Developer as the coding agent. I felt similar benefits there too.

One advantage is that the conversational AI turns my rough intentions into more specific instructions. This seems to reduce the chances of the coding agent heading in an unintended direction. It also helps prepare more detailed verification steps after implementation.

But I've found this approach particularly useful for investigating bugs, rather than just writing code.

The clues needed to solve a problem aren't always in the source code that the coding agent can access. They might be in external logs, my own notes, or information I've gathered from elsewhere.

In those cases, discussing the broader problem with a conversational AI, then asking it to direct the coding agent to investigate specific parts of the code, seems to make it easier to reach an answer.

I didn't invent this workflow. ChatGPT suggested it when I asked how to use coding agents, and I've simply continued using it because it seems effective.

Is this a common way of working? What advantages or disadvantages have you experienced compared with interacting directly with a coding agent?

I'm particularly interested in whether others find it useful for debugging and investigation, where the relevant information is spread across multiple sources.

Use cases GPT-6 Astra made me a 1-click offline patch for Star Trek Legends after its servers shut down, and it actually works!

I had a Steam copy of Star Trek Legends sitting there unplayable after its servers shut down. Steam wouldn't refund me, so I thought I was out of luck.

Tonight I asked GPT-6 Astra whether an offline patch would be possible, and it actually got it working.

I uploaded a couple of DLLs, the game’s log, and some asset files. It inspected them and found that the game already contained local gameplay systems, mission data, and saving functionality, but online requests were blocking startup.

It made a patch, which got me into the menu. Clicking Continue still brought up a connection error, but hilariously, the game was running behind the popup.

I sent GPT the new log. Turns out that new connection error was the game trying to connect to its online chat service. It disabled that startup request in a second patch, and the popup disappeared.

I’ve now played, quit, reopened the game, and loaded my progress.

It also packaged the changes into a Windows EXE with Install and Restore buttons, version checks, backups, and source code.

I haven't extensively tested it yet. I haven’t played through the whole game or explored every menu, but I think this is super cool for game preservation! The fact I played multiple missions in a game that I purchased and has been sunset by the developers. And it only took GPT like 30 minutes of back-and-forth!

The below screenshot is what happens if you boot it straight from Steam, and some after the Astra patch:

Other Check if Chat mode is serving you the right model

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

My Plus account (first screenshot) is being routed incorrectly to GPT 5.6-Sol despite GPT-6 being selected, in Chat mode on both the web UI and the mobile app.

I tried different reasoning efforts, but the model still identifies itself as GPT-5.6 Sol and it was unable to use GPT-6 functionality such as the new Intelligent UI features. The LLM can actually read what model it's running, so you can ask. If you switch models and ask it again, you'll see it can detect that as well, it's not hallucinating it.

We tested the same thing on my friend's account (Plus, second screenshot) and my work account (Pro 20x) and it actually works fine there, including the new features, so this appears to be an account-specific issue. I already submitted a support request but I'm not hopeful.

My best guess is that it was caused when I set up a remote Codex host in my LAN (SSH from my PC to an old laptop running Linux), maybe it somehow flagged my account or somethign. Would you guys mind checking on your end? Here's the exact prompt:

are you gpt 6? can you quickly showcase the new GPT-6 intelligent UI features?

# The entire classic Doctor Who cast gets thrown into Eggman's machine

Somewhere in the afterlife, every actor who played the Doctor before modern 3D gaming is summoned to a screening room. A gigantic screen displays LEGO Dimensions. They have just finished watching William Hartnell's tiny plastic likeness get roasted by spinning fire jets.

A voice speaks from behind them.

EGGMAN: WELCOME, FOOLS! I AM THE GENIUS DR. EGGMAN! AND YOU SHALL ALL WITNESS THE POWER OF MY ULTIMATE MACHINE!

The wall opens. The Egg Wizard looms outside, glowing with enough energy to destroy a planet.

WILLIAM HARTNELL: Oh, for heaven's sake. Who is this ridiculous little man?

PATRICK TROUGHTON: I rather like his moustache.

JON PERTWEE: I don't like the look of that machine. Far too many moving parts.

TOM BAKER: I think it looks rather like a mechanical Christmas pudding.

PETER DAVISON: Can we go home?

COLIN BAKER: I should like to know why we've been brought here by a man dressed like an exploded circus tent.

SYLVESTER McCOY: I think we're in trouble.

PAUL McGANN: What makes you say that?

The Egg Wizard's laser charges.

SYLVESTER McCOY: Well, that, mostly.

EGGMAN: SILENCE! I HAVE SPENT YEARS PERFECTING THIS MACHINE! IT WILL DESTROY YOUR PLANET, YOUR LITTLE TELEVISION PROGRAMME, AND EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!

HARTNELL: Now see here! You cannot simply destroy planets because you feel like it!

EGGMAN: I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT!

HARTNELL: Well, I think you'll find that's a very poor attitude for a grown man to have.

TROUGHTON: William, I don't think he cares.

HARTNELL: Well, someone ought to tell him!

Eggman fires a warning blast. The entire room shakes.

CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON: Right. Everyone move.

DAVID TENNANT: Move where?!

ECCLESTON: AWAY FROM THE GIANT DEATH MACHINE!

MATT SMITH: Oh, this is brilliant! We're actually in a videogame!

PETER CAPALDI: No, we're in a merchandising catastrophe.

JODIE WHITTAKER: Could we perhaps talk to him?

EGGMAN: THERE WILL BE NO TALKING! ONLY DESTRUCTION!

CAPALDI: Oh, shut up.

The room falls silent.

EGGMAN: WHAT DID YOU SAY?!

CAPALDI: I said shut up. You have a machine capable of destroying a planet, and you're wasting your time shouting at a room full of actors.

TOM BAKER: He's got a point.

EGGMAN: I AM NOT WASTING MY TIME! I AM EXPLAINING MY SUPERIORITY!

PAUL McGANN: That's rather what wasting your time looks like.

Eggman screams and launches a volley of fireballs.

The first attempt at survival

The actors scatter.

Hartnell attempts to run. He makes it about six steps before a fireball explodes beside him.

HARTNELL: GOOD LORD!

Troughton ducks behind a rock. Pertwee attempts to examine a control panel. Baker is still looking at the Egg Wizard.

TOM BAKER: I really do think it looks like a Christmas pudding.

PETER DAVISON: Tom, please concentrate!

TOM BAKER: I'm concentrating perfectly.

A spinning fire jet sweeps across the platform.

DAVISON: JUMP!

Everybody jumps. Hartnell jumps a fraction too late.

HARTNELL: OH, THIS IS UTTER—

He is incinerated.

A small LEGO figure falls onto the ground.

MATT SMITH: He's dead!

CAPALDI: Yes, thank you, Doctor Obvious.

Hartnell respawns at the checkpoint.

HARTNELL: I BEG YOUR PARDON?!

EGGMAN: HAHAHAHAHA! YOU CANNOT DEFEAT MY MACHINE!

HARTNELL: I'VE ONLY JUST GOT HERE!

The actors start losing their minds

JON PERTWEE: Right. We need to understand the mechanism. That jet rotates at a consistent interval. If we can get to the controls—

EGGMAN: THERE ARE NO CONTROLS YOU CAN ACCESS!

PERTWEE: Everything has controls, you idiot!

EGGMAN: NOT MY MACHINE!

PERTWEE: THEN HOW DO YOU OPERATE IT?!

Eggman pauses.

EGGMAN: ...THAT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

SYLVESTER McCOY: He's hiding something.

ECCLESTON: He's hiding a control panel.

TENNANT: He's definitely hiding a control panel.

CAPALDI: We're surrounded by people who have spent their careers pretending to be clever, and somehow the man with the giant moustache is the one who's been caught out.

Ncuti Gatwa: I mean, the moustache is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

EGGMAN: I HEARD THAT!

GATWA: Good!

The Egg Wizard begins charging its planet-destroying laser.

PAUL McGANN: Oh. That's probably bad.

TROUGHTON: How bad?

MATT SMITH: Planet-destroying bad.

HARTNELL: YES, WE'VE ESTABLISHED THAT! DOES ANYONE HAVE A PLAN?!

Everyone looks at Sylvester McCoy.

McCOY: Why is everyone looking at me?

DAVISON: You always look like you're plotting something.

McCOY: That's just my face!

The final straw

The laser fires. The actors dive for cover. The blast misses them by inches and obliterates a distant mountain.

Silence.

HARTNELL: Right.

He stands up, dusts off his suit, and marches towards Eggman.

TROUGHTON: William! What are you doing?!

HARTNELL: I AM GOING TO HAVE A WORD WITH THIS MAN!

EGGMAN: STAY BACK!

HARTNELL: YOU HAVE DRAGGED US INTO A RIDICULOUS MECHANICAL NIGHTMARE, YOU HAVE THREATENED TO DESTROY AN ENTIRE PLANET, AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SHOUT AT US WHILE WE ARE TRYING TO THINK!

EGGMAN: I AM DR. EGGMAN!

HARTNELL: I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE UNIVERSE!

The entire cast watches in stunned silence as Hartnell marches straight up to the Egg Wizard and shakes his fist at it.

TOM BAKER: He's going to get killed again.

CAPALDI: Obviously.

TENNANT: Should we help him?

ECCLESTON: How?!

Hartnell reaches the machine's foot and kicks it.

HARTNELL: THERE! NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT?!

The Egg Wizard's warning alarm sounds.

EGGMAN: YOU FOOL! YOU'VE DAMAGED THE EXTERIOR CASING!

PERTWEE: WHAT?!

Pertwee rushes over and examines the damage.

PERTWEE: He's right! The casing's cracked! The energy conduits are exposed!

McCOY: Well, that's convenient.

PERTWEE: Everyone, get away from the machine!

EGGMAN: NO! NO, NO, NO! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME!

CAPALDI: We haven't done anything. The old man kicked your robot.

The Egg Wizard explodes in a spectacular shower of sparks.

The actors stand in silence, staring at the burning wreckage.

HARTNELL: Well. I think that settles that.

TROUGHTON: You defeated a planet-destroying machine by kicking it.

HARTNELL: Yes, well, it was very badly made.

TOM BAKER: Mechanical Christmas pudding, after all.

From somewhere inside the wreckage, Eggman screams.

EGGMAN: I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME!

CAPALDI: There isn't going to be a next time.

Capaldi walks away. The others follow.

HARTNELL: And somebody get me out of this dreadful videogame!

The screen freezes.

Other ChatGPT Voice Needs Improvement

Come on OpenAI, improve the voice models. Community with an AI should keep human limitations in mind. I cannot keep up with 4 paragraphs of information (Standard Voice), I don't want a conversation where it feels like I need to completely direct the flow; if I am asking a question, I likely don't know what to ask next (Live), substance is helpful but it needs to contain useful info (Advanced).

Believe it or not, it feels like standard is the best. This is wild because it is just the verbal output of the text model. I am sure I am not alone.

In the AI space, differentiation is getting difficult. Seems to me that a simple tailored text model + verbal output, might actually best strategy. Please fix.

Live = Good conversationally, the worst in terms of information.

Advanced = Fair conversationally, bad in terms of information.

Standard = Extremely informative, lackluster in conversations. Also, it feels broken right now, it talks about the columns, image pixel size, "entity category", etc.
