Most CAGs have a specific advanced combat technique that basically became essential in any pro level gameplay. For instance the DMC series have Jump Cancelling (and Inertia in DMC4)

Do you care about the story in the games you play? I do not. For example, I have and still play a lot of Bayo 1 and I have not watched a single cutscene of that game. I do not know anything about who these characters are but the combat is fantastic. I could go on about more games but you get the point. How do you all feel, is the story important to you?

I think Sifu is a CAG if you ask me, so i say you guys should try it.

Completed the second part to my Comboween series, and the Van Helsing game definitely is INFINITELY more "Character Action" than Nightmare Before Christmas turned out to be. Would honestly recommend a playthrough of this, although it is heavily flawed and doesn't encourage melee combat nearly as much as it should

The game has problems, sure... but I'm sick and tired of the double standards, this game's story sucks, yeah... but so does every CAG that isn't NieR:Automata or Final Fantasy XVI, every story sucks except for those two. The combat has so much depth and expression, the levels are simplistic but they're BEAUTIFUL, some of the best bosses in the genre, and the game is PACKED with content. Please, please check it out if you haven't, and ignore all the bad reviews because these reviewers have double standards. Play it on your own terms and have fun with it.

When it comes to Hack & Slash games they have the same features:

• Multiple combos
• Air juggling
• Ultimate
• Action set-pieces
• Spectacle
• Creative expression through combat

If you were to make your own H&S game what feature would you add to stand out?

For example Metal Gear Rising Revengance has the slice through anything feature, that feature is something that would most likely be in a sandbox/open world game but it was in a H&S game.

So again what would you add?

I wanted to update the previous Magenta Horizon combo mad video with the new UI and longer gameplay per sequence, so here we are again. Hope this convinces people that "combat expression" and enemy aggression aren't so mutually exclusive.

This one was recorded way back on December 2, 2019. Due to the multiplayer damage penalty on Insane and Unfair difficulties, it made the game impossible to beat. Still, I took my chance to risk trying. And...I did it!

This was before the Damage Penalty was removed last January 20, 2022.

A tribe of mice live in their friend Boe's apartment. When Boe is too sick to work the Landlord arranges to evict him and for the Exterminator to come for the mice. Luckily, the tribe's Shaman knows of a ritual that could save them, and the tribe's champion, the Chosen One, is given the task of traveling to other apartments and collecting the signatures of the tenants to harness their magic power.

Sign My Petition is a beat-em-up adventure where you take on the role of the Chosen One and venture to strange new apartments. You'll complete quests, fight unique bosses, and smash your way through hordes of ants.

A bit of shameless self-promotion, but I'm just really excited about this. I'm the creator of the Dylan May Cry mod for CONTROL Resonant, which brings the combat closer to Devil May Cry (as you could probably guess from the name).

I just released an update that adds a brand new ability to the game: Trick. It includes, Air Trick, Trick Down and Trick Up, essentially how they are in DMC5 which I used as the basis.

This update also includes motion inputs, where you can assign any attack to forward, back, forward/back, back/forward + light or heavy attack inputs. Together with the mod's existing light and heavy customizable combos, it really opens up the combat.

Lastly, the update includes a Hold Lock-on option, also akin to Devil May Cry, which makes the motion inputs and Trick usage seamless to weave in and out of combos.

One of my friends recently said it plays more like a PlayStation spiderman game than something like DMC, guess this has me wanting more opinions on whether this game really is CaG adjacent at all or if it’s more of a super hero sandbox?
